Mr. Murdock, I want to thank you for taking the time to fully review the HiFiMan headphone amplifier!
I auditioned this unit near the beginning of the month, but eventually purchased an iFi Phantom.

Wonderful review! It is one of the best and most punchy amplifiers at its price range.

Excellent review as always William. Realistically it is beyond my price range but curious how much of a bump in quality there would be going from the amp in the Serenade when using an easy to drive headphone like the HE1000se. It sounds like the benefits are more obvious with hard to drive headphones. I currently have the Serenade/HE1000se combo and enjoying it compared to the Fiio K9 I was using previously.

With the HE1000SE the Prelude would give you a slight increase in clarity and resolution over the Serenade. You would only notice the difference comparing the two side by side.

What about prelude Vs the Topping A70 Pro?? You spoke briefly about the two in your original video on this amp

They both have plenty of power and great clarity and detail. The Prelude does it with a warmer richer sound.
