Notice the sticks Dave Growl is using. They do not have typical tips on them. They are the same diameter from end to end. They are actually comprised of 7 or 8 thin round wood dowels grouped into a single 7/8 inch (aprox.) diameter group. They bang off of each other when they make contact and make a slight clicking sound. They are called Thundersticks. Or at least they used to be. Give it another listen and you'll hear it. Thanks for this reaction! Peace to you guys!
Great tune RIP Kirk MTV unplugged was to the late 80's and 90's to what the Midnight Special was to the 70's. SRV did MTV unplugged with a 12 string acoustic well worth the watch!
THE BAND PEARL JAM MTV UNPLUGGED "BLACK" INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE. RIP KURT COBAIN AND NIRVANA 😇🌹FOREVER REMEMBERED AND NEVER EVER FORGOTTEN. PEARL JAM'S "JEREMY" ORGINAL MUSIC VIDEO UNCENSORED, TRUE STORY. THANK YOU SIRS FOR SHARING THIS AWESOME VIDEO!! 😊💓🔥🤘✌️
Shout out the "new" guitar player, Pat Smear, who would later join The Foo Fighters. He also did a brief stint as a member of the LA punk band The Germs, who had Jane Wiedland (The Go-Gos) as their drummer.
I feel like Nirvana and LL Cool J made MTV Unplugged iconic. The LL Unplugged was undoubtedly the first time most people saw a hip hop artist perform their songs with a live band instead of a DJ, and I think it completely changed how hip hop artists approached live shows after that. Obviously, most artists still used DJ's, but particularly for big tours and festivals you started seeing live bands on stage often integrated with a DJ. It's easy to forget how mindblowing and revolutionary that performance was at the time.
"No I don't have a gun..." Kurt's pain is so palpable, it's sad and difficult to watch this concert. Beautiful, powerful, but so sad. By the way, as many likely know, that "granny sweater" (aka the green cardigan Kurt Cobain is wearing) sold at auction in 2019 for $334,000.
Where Kurt lived and died was up the street from me. It was very painful for Seattle music scene. We really don't believe he used the gun. So when he says I don't have a gun, it is a painful reminder. 😢
This was the first song I learned on the guitar. Gotta love it when Ollie sings along. Maybe Mtv needs to bring back Yo! Mtv Raps and Unplugged and put them together. Kendrick Unplugged. Internet killed the music video star.
Corey, you mentioned wondering what was going through his head since this was within a few years of him killing himself, but it's even more immediate than you may have realized. This was actually recorded less than 5 months before his suicide in early April '94. It aired on MTV in December '93, less than 4 months prior, and the official album release wasn't until about 7 months after he died.
Love you & your stuff! Much respect! 🥊Every episode is like watching Ali! 🥊 If you love unplugged, perhaps, if you haven't already watched it, you could also review "Black", by Pearl Jam. Another excellent vid. Cheers to you & all you do...🍻
The 90’s had great rock too; Check out YELLOW LEDBETTER by Pearl Jam and DO NOT pass by the 3 aspects of CHRIS CORNEL; SOUNDGARDEN, AUDIOSLAVE and his solo’s💪 then jump down the ALICE IN CHAINS rabbit hole 🙏
I am more a "plugged in" Nirvana fan😆, but this is a great song. I was lucky to see Nirvana in concert 🤘The exception to that rule is All Apologies. Edit: Nope, I still like the plugged in version of All Apologies better.🎸
Olli needs to start muting his mic. He's either making unnecessary noise by scooting something around in front of him or now singing to the song. Very distracting if you're a viewer.
Olli needs to not sing along as well as get his hand out of his mouth when he speaks... sounds like a modern Mushmouth from Fat Albert. Maybe the channel just needs to drop the third wheel, it would definitely be better if you cut the dead weight.
The “Welcome to Aberdeen” sign (Kurt’s hometown here in Washington) says “Come as you are”
Really? That's amazing!
I was only in America (California) once for a vist and I was so sad I wasn't able to make it up that way.
@ I’m biased, but I thing Washington state, especially western Washington, is the most beautiful invite lower 48 states.

Penny Royal Tea is the ultimate unplugged Nirvana song... for me.
RIP Kurt 💔
This whole album is excellent.

Ollie singing along. That's a first for me. I mean, I don't recommend it, but.... 😂❤️✌️

Debbie was the drummer a little while but not long. I don't think Jane was. Both were backing singers for Black Randy and the Metrosquad.
Pat was in Germs the whole time and was Darby's friend and went to school with him.
Lucky to have grown up with such great music, the loss of him was huge ❤
Absolutely 🔥
Such a talented young man 😢
He shouldn't have done it
@@jinokar We're not sure he did.

My fav of Nirvana..⭐️Kurt😪
Very haunting. Love. Love. Love.

I loved LL’s Unplugged

I just realized that three of the singles from Nevermind mention guns: Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come as You Are, and In Bloom.
It's hard not to hear that here. 💔
The drummer is the lead singer in Foo Fighters. You probley know that but just in case.😂🤣
He's so young! I know that's an obvious observation, but still. 😂❤✌️
They know that, they mentioned it.

Baby face Dave on the skins. So fresh and clean.
We lost too many of these 90’s gods man.
U guys need to go the rabbit hole of Alice in Chains and their MTV Unplugged session of "Nutshell" it hits hard
They killed that poor boy. Like so many other's.
I am more a "plugged in" Nirvana fan😆, but this is a great song. I was lucky to see Nirvana in concert 🤘The exception to that rule is All Apologies. Edit: Nope, I still like the plugged in version of All Apologies better.🎸
Most all the songs on Nirvana’s Unplugged were covers. Kurt was trolling MTv
Please do nofx seeing double at the triple rock
I could tell this kid had "issues" of depression and heavy drug use. Sad story...tragic😵😵😵😪😪😪
Bleach was the name of one of their first albums. Soaked in bleach was referring to old fans.
True tiny desk is low key ...

If you know u know Kurt didn't take his own life ❤ Y'all should do where did you sleep last night by them 🎉
Is that a Buck Owens Harmony?
That tune was = 2 bcuz I got high. Huge!! Couldn't not hear
Mtv and vh1 dumped all their music content from their websites.
There are some other music channels but it's sad
The ironic song
Please, do more of Average White band songs, you won't regret it. One of songs you can do is, If I Ever Lose this Heven
The artists of today are all auto tuned so unplugged they would not sound good or just totally suck
The award show went woke. That's how they died.
Olli needs to start muting his mic. He's either making unnecessary noise by scooting something around in front of him or now singing to the song. Very distracting if you're a viewer.
Many of these Grunge Bands, the best part is the electric guitar, so why would you even want to hear it, the studio version blows this away. sorry
