The engine tin will be painted after test fitting all the components and breaking the engine in. This will allow us to address any issues that come up and it is good practice to retorque the heads after a few hours of running. There is a method to our madness.

Dude why didn’t you paint your tins? Stacking gaskets to reduce the fuel pressure is not the preferred method, should use fuel pressure regulator. There’s my 2 cents.
There are two common ways including stacking gaskets or filing the drive rod (both being used by VW back in the day). We use pressure regulators with electric fuel pumps, not mechanical.

Excelent series, though I can't believe you didn't clean and paint the tin.
We painted the tin after the engine was bench run for an initial break in.
I am just about to put my engine into my ‘74 Super Beetle. How convenient.
Thanks for this... Excelent.
It's amazing customising
We used to have contests that the shop to see how fast somebody can pull VW engine out we used to be able to do it within 15 to 14 minutes
That's about average for someone not rushing. There's competitors that do it ridiculously quick:

Very good
a little paint on the sides looks better ⚫
Nothing has been painted in this video. All the engine tin is painted today, along with the rest of the car to match.
