K. SAI GIRIDHAR- PROFILE
Sri K.Sai Giridhar, born in the year 1984, (Vijayawada , Andhra Pradesh) hails from a family deeply interested in classical music. He was initiated into the art of mridangam at the age of 10 and began his training under renowned artiste Parupalli S Phalgun and guru Sri. M.L.N. Raju.
Sai Giridhar has been performing on stage since the tender age of 15 and is now one among the most sought after percussionist in the carnatic music scenario. An 'A'grade artist of All India Radio, Chennai, he has innumerable awards and titles to his credit which includes the Yuva puraskaar from Sangeetha Nataka academy.
He has travelled extensively within India and also around the world performing at famed theatres and prestigious festivals in USA , UK, Europe alongside legendary artists.He has had the rare privilege and honour of accompanying stalwarts like Shri. Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna, Shri. Nedunuri Krishna murthy and the likes of them.He has also had the honor of sharing the dias with reputed top ranking artists like Shri O.S. Thyagarajan, Sri.T.V.Shankaranarayanan Shri Shashank (flute), Smt. Bombay jayashri, Smt. Aruna Sairam, Smt. Nithyashri Mahadevan, Smt. Ranjani and Smt. Gayathri, Priya sisters, Malladi Brothers and so on. He is also a regular with the present upcoming stars of the field.
Sai has also been a part of the well known fusion band from Denmark called ' The New Jungle Orchestra 'and has had his name featured in several CD and DVD productions.
Sai Giridhar holds a degree in political science and a P.G. Diploma from the Government Music College of Vijayawada. He was also a student of Sri Sathya Sai Mirpuri college of music, Puttaparthi.
