Growing up in Portmore and being a fan/supporter of Bounty, naturally I'm a Vybz Kartel fan/supporter however during the Gully/Gaza wars I was a young Christian zealot & focused purging myself from anything that may of negative influence, so I never listened secular music nor took a side or even paid attention to it. nor did kept my ear the streets only heard outrageous things and scandals like friend telling me Kartel evil, him seh him nuh must know God or him reach 33 degree masonry, etc I do recall supporting a CD man who sold me a CD full of conscious music as a Christian and a Mavado CD full of the same, so my synopsis is the time is Mavado conscious/good Kartel/evil is only years after some checks and realizing what took place as a fellow persecuted victim of the system I realize what Kartel was fighting and why he was being demonized in the media way beyond his hardcore image persona and demeanor portray. I'm still child of God and support the unhinged, unruly,bad slave that got away and the system is desperateb to suppress.
