As recent as 50 yrs ago, it wouldn't have been possible for Onitsha monarch to go near or even see anything that has to with masquerade be it sculpture or real one because the Onitsha ancient traditions prohibited it but I'm happy that certain ancient traditions have been modified to suit the modern day style of life. I remember also that Onitsha monarchs are prohibited from shaking hands with anyone but that has changed. Kudos to Obi Alfred Achebe for his brilliant reforms. Many people did not know that horsetails are not used for fashions in Onitsha. Onitsha people carry it only during funerals ceremonies and pack them away after. Only one person is allowed to carry horsetail everyday in Onitsha and that person is the monarch. There's a very important reason why he carries it but I cannot write it here for the public. Onitsha people also are not allowed to wear redcaps. It is forbidden for all Onitsha men including Ozo titled men but except Ndichie (redcap chiefs) and the King. I'm not sure that rule will ever change. Anyway I'm happy that Igwe Achebe has made some great reforms. Onitsha had their first western educated king in 1901, Obi Sammy Okosi the first. The current Obi Achebe is not an exception. He is a highly educated man who had a brilliant career before ascending to the thrown of his ancestors. I have listened to many of his speeches and I must say that he is a leader who have the interest of all Igbos at heart. Long live Ndigbo, long live Obi Achebe and all our royal fathers in Igboland.

How can Obi of onisha wearing agbada in Igboland? What happened to Igbo attire. Igbos, be proud and embrace your culture
But Soludo don't give our Obi of Onitsha his respect but other Igbo governors are respecting him....thank God for them.
Stop calling Soludo. Respect yourself

Is that a project?
Culture is good but we are so behind in all important aspects of life
They are all important, doing one doesn't stop anyone from doing there other.

Do we have to give up???, since we are behind. Ka o si ta di nma@@yummydishes2279
