Always a treat when you post "early". I love watching your videos and have been just about everyday since April, when my daughter was born. Your FPV videos are my favorite. I look forward to them every Wednesday! Much love from Minnesota (US)
You gotta love how the Brits started out years ago as the "Ostheer, but better" faction, but after years of constant nerfs, now they are basically the "Ostheer, but useless and frustrating" faction. Many of their units are kind of shit, but the AEC, the Vickers and the Cromwell really take the cake imo. A light vehicle that (maybe) can kill an enemy 222 - and nothing else - for the low price of double the fuel, a medium tank that doesn´t kill infantry, both coupled with an MG that doesn´t suppress. Truly a marvel of game design. How the mighty have fallen.
Until you start playing with assault sections and learn to play hyper aggressive like the OKW, then it's the return of fun times with 2 smokes w/ separate cooldowns as well as grenades. But by then you are pretty much playing a completely different faction. However, you are right about the Brits being kinda washed down from their glory days. The core weakness of no mainline infantry snare + having to spend fuel to get one more model makes the light vehicle phase quite tough. OKW with JLI super painful and almost impossible to beat with a mainline infantry composition. Also doesn't help that they lack a mobile indirect (unless through a commander) and most of their vehicles are crap at killing infantry. The only tank that is a decent infantry killer is the expensive croc.
@@noxrige Assault Sections are extremely map-dependent. On maps like Crossing, good luck trying to win engagements closing the distance through the negative cover on the river. Generally, there are many places on various maps where multiple flanking routes can be covered by one MG-42. And once the Axis get Pgrens, Obers or Falls, you are going to lose at every range against them.
I'm surprised that the assault grens actually worked somewhat well against the assault sections. I thought that the Thompsons would eat the assault grens. Interesting to see how he was getting wipes as well with the huge muni expenditure into grenades.
Good game and great handling of the snipers plus the comets. One thing I feel your games with the assault sections have been lacking though is a sharper use of the regular smoke grenade with them. Great for not getting suppressed by mg's and getting closer to long range squads so you can deal damage for only 10-15 munis. Personally, I think it's also worth upgrading them with regular grenades so you can have that little extra burst of damage to win more engagements. They also don't share a cooldown with the wp grenades, so you can literally chuck a wp at an enemy squad and then chuck a regular grenade and wipe it if your opponent doesn't retreat their squad earlier.
I wish I could get assault grenadiers to work, but they don't seem to have the staying power or utility as in this game. Any tips? Should they be treated like elite infantry? A single squad?
They only work as ambush infantry. Their grenades are excellent but that's about it. They're inferior to all other assault infantry in every other respect. That said, hide em in the right spot and they'll utterly wipe units in buildings for exceptionally low ammo consumption. they're pretty much ineffective for open combat though and you can rarely afford more than one squad of guys that sit out of combat waiting for opportunities.
They're good at early map control. You should use them more aggressively. And don't hesitate to use sprint. Think about it, the grenades can miss and so become useless while sprint will always be beneficial.
They’re very strong early game, but you don’t ever want more than 2 squad of them. All smg(non-Thompson) squads in the late game suffer from the same issue having to close distance and losing half models in the process. So it’s best to operate them on the flanks
@@EstellammaSS Shocks are tough enough at veterancy to run in and gun down even numbers of squads. Commandos on ambush from cover can push in under ambush sprint for the same. Rangers are also tough enough to push in from the front.
I think a lot of it comes down to their weapons. Similarly to storm troopers they can get a lot of work done in the early game but later on and when other units get veterancy, they lose to more or less every dedicated allied smg squad. Thompsons and PPSH's are just completely superior in the lategame.
I'm streaming the same amount I always have (well for the last 4 years or so) Ultimately can't commit any more time than that, I only earn about $2.50 per hour on there.
German sniper fails to counter enemy sniper
Stug III: fine I'll do it myself

Top hatch grenade could have saved the comet at 42:00
Also the sniper destroying the tigers gun was hilarious
I feel assaulted right now.
Thanks again to providing fun COH2 coverage!

I feel sorry for the German sniper, totally disoriented
Now we need assault engi and assault Guards
U deserve this victory he didnt try to even lay some mines or get some AT to counter your comets
The german should have at least one gren so he has snare
Those assault gren blobs man
