Great video Rodney! Thank you! I think a lot of folks are going to like Cryo - both for its similarities and its differences from other games I've designed or co-designed. Cryo is tight - and I think its going to have a strong appeal to people who like that kind of tense Euro feel where you're operating with scarce resources and a limited amount of time. The cool sci-fi look and feel really come through in your video, so thanks for showing it off so well!
As expected, a great walkthrough! I've run a playtest group for Luke's last 3 games and Cryo was our favorite of the bunch. Z-man did an absolutely amazing job with art direction and production. Can't wait to have the real thing in my hands!
Just played this for the first time with some friends, great game it took us a while to figure out how to play and we didn't quite understand some of the nuances. This video was excellent and the next time we play it will be even funner! Love it!
I've not played DoE, but I have played Whistle Mountain. I see many similar game mechanics between the two. I adore Whistle Mountain, so Cryo looks like a winner to me! Thank you for another great video Rodney.
Rodney is simply the best UA-cam game teacher out there. He knows when to recap things, illustrates things visually in a clear way, and his videos are always well edited. It is a sad day when I'm about to play a game that Rodney hasn't created an episode for. I regret not getting his autograph at PAX Unplugged a few years ago. Rodney, please never change!
Definitely seeing some similarities to Dwellings of Eldervale (which is a really good thing!). Thanks so much for another excellent video, Rodney!! You rock!!
Another great video, thanks Rodney. Was particularly helpful with how the end game worked, we weren't quite 100% how it worked from the rulebook, but your video cleared it right up for us :)
19:40 "...where all of any one person's crew pods are destroyed and/or in the caverns". To confirm: taking the last crew pod from the board to your platform and/or vehicle doesn't trigger the end of the game. Once I launch them all into the caverns, the game ends. Correct?
I wish you were in my game group. I can't teach very well but am still expected to. Oh bother... at least I can learn my games with you first and then, inevitably, fail at teaching at the table!
Hey, thanks for the interest. I tend to avoid giving personalized recommendations. What I like, someone else might not, so I don't like to guess at that - thanks for checking out the video though!
I have a question re: 14:35. So, if you slot this into a cost slot on your platform for, let’s say Nanite, does that mean you can either play/draw a card to gain Nanite? Meaning you can just draw a card AND gain Nanite? That seems kind of OP. Am I interpreting this wrong? Edit: never mind, I should’ve waited until you got to 18:22. Good job on the video!
I did catch a mistake that you made in the setup part of the video. At 3:39, you put a purple piece on the far right space for a 4-player while you're only playing with 2 players. It's interesting that you did point to that space in the video while talking about player counts, but actually put a piece there. Otherwise, nice video. However, I wish that the pieces were easier to see on the board, since the pieces and where they are places on the board have the exact same artwork. When they were placed on the board, the pieces blend in so well that I couldn't tell if they were empty or filled it. (In summary, the empty spaces looked like the actually pieces themselves, which was confusing to me, and with the board artwork showing a lot of details, it made it hard to know while watching was is on the board and not.)

A pleasure to feature one of your designs Luke!
The game looks really good! it seems to have many interesting choices.
Super fun experience!
I'm just disillusioned now, knowing that Rodney never misses the box spin/catch. Another great video in the books, thank you sir.
(Just don't ask him about the out-takes.)
It’s pure superhuman dexterity. No outtakes.
*takes a bow*

Hey, very cool to hear from you Daniel - hope you get to enjoy it soon!

So glad this was helpful - have a great time when it hits the table next!

Glad you enjoyed it GS!
I just preordered this, calling it now it’s gonna be the next big thing!! Thanks as always Rodney for the great rules run through!
Glad you enjoyed what you saw Steve - have fun playing!

Thanks so much for the very kind and generous comment - that really means a lot. Maybe our paths will cross in the future for a second attempt!
have to give a huge thumbs up to the timestamps in the video description
Thanks - glad you find that helpful!
Definitely seeing some similarities to Dwellings of Eldervale (which is a really good thing!). Thanks so much for another excellent video, Rodney!! You rock!!
Hey, thanks for dropping by with a kind comment - appreciate you checking out the video!
Another great video, thanks Rodney. Was particularly helpful with how the end game worked, we weren't quite 100% how it worked from the rulebook, but your video cleared it right up for us :)
Thanks Mark, I saw you played it recently - looks like you had a full (and fun) game day :)
This game is gorgeous
It has a very cool art style.
Your videos are by far the best way to intro folks to a new game. Thanks for doing what you do!
Very kind of you to say - thanks Charlie!
Good one Rodney. Thanks again for the easygoing teach thru.
You're very welcome!
Thank you, Rodney. The game will be published in Russia in autumn. Great there is a chance to see it beforehand.
Glad you could get an early look!
This has a lot of similarities to Luke Laurie's other game Dwellings of Eldervale. That game is awesome so I think this one will be good as well.
I haven't tried that one, but thanks for checking out this video!
Rodney always looks like he's barely keeping it together, and I'm here for it.
This games definitely on my radar. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed what you saw!
Great video, sounds crazy hard !
Thanks for checking it out J!

You got it!
Thanks Rodney for the video! This game looks great!
Thanks for checking it out Jose!
Another great video. Just got the game. Thanks, Rodney.
Have fun playing!
Great video! Very intriguing game.
Thanks for checking it out Henri!
Makes sense that it is a Luke Laurie game. Similar mechanisms with Dwellings of Eldervale
Great video, thanks! 😊
You're very welcome Rick!

Keep it up - they're counting on you :)
Great job as always.
What happens to a ship after its launched? Do you get to dock it again on your platform?
Thanks Nathan - after the launch, the card is discarded.
@@WatchItPlayed thanks Rodney!
Hey Rodney! I was wondering if you are going to do a watch it played for Lost ruins of Arnak? Love the videos, gotta support a fellow Canadian!
Thanks for the interest! I talk a bit about that here: ua-cam.com/video/EdtDuvIUa6A/v-deo.html&t=342
Will Monique and Naveen be doing a play through of this one?
Hey Sharon, we don't pre-announce what games might be coming (as our schedules can change and we don't want to disappoint).
Listen up y'all it's a stabotage!

@@WatchItPlayed Exactly that (but with a stab) :D
It's also Intergalactic.
I know you planned it!
great explanation
Thanks!
That game looks really fun... adding it to my list! I thank you for introducing me to Cryo. My bank account thanks you not, once again...
I hope you have a great time playing, so you can quiet that bank account :)
Nice shirt Rodney
Some wizardry going on at 4:27.
I love DoE and I can't wait for Cryo! Any opinions how it scales into a 2p game? Is it good or it needs 3 or 4 players to shine?
Hey, thanks for the interest. I tend to avoid giving personalized recommendations. What I like, someone else might not, so I don't like to guess at that - thanks for checking out the video though!
I always dance to the intro music! Anyone else?
I whistle lol!
I ‘do-do-dooo’ along lol
You know how to get into the spirit of a learning experience!
@@WatchItPlayed Learning is all about movement, fun, dancing and the smooth explanation from Rodney. Perfect combination.

Glad you found the answer - thanks for checking it out!
Hi Rodney! Is there a score pad or some way to keep track of points at the end?
There is - and I probably should have shown it! :)
sweet, thanks Rodney!
What happnes to your vehicles after you do a launch ? Discard or back to platform?
It is discarded.
If I’m hungry and I want a snack, is the ship’s gallery still intact? 😉
lol... I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE.
3rd like👍

Ha! The trials of being upside down to the board! This is a case of do as I say, not as I do :)
