I think I said this somewhere else, but it feels like DBK isn’t ignoring Red Son on purpose; he just doesn’t realize how much Red Son actually cares about his opinion. You can see he’s taken aback by Red Son’s happiness when he finally does give some proper acknowledgement.

It sounded more like he was holding back genuine sadness because he couldn’t bear to think what would happen to Red Son if Spider Queen got him. That shows how much he actually cares without openly admitting it, and I send my applauses to Steve Blum for that incredible acting. DBK is right up there with others like Bowser and Garmadon who are “bad guys” but also good dads. It may be a cliché writing trope, but I believe that what makes a believable antagonist is their ability to be relatable.

Steve Blum has given yet another phenomenal performance. Channeling the coldness of his portrayal of Sub-Zero with a little bit of the goofiness he gave Guilmon, it's a wonderful display of him layering the Demon Bull King.
I love the concept of the way he tries to gain power by absorbing rare items, and the more rare they are, the more powerful the power boost...now, imagine what would happen if he could absorb the Golden Weapons of Spinjitsu...that would be nuts.
He would probably also gain the wisdom of the first Spinjitsu master. Remember, the weapons made an entire world. They hold his power and knowledge. Sure he would be powerful, but also much wiser than before.

Looking at the whole story of his character, DBK is the "Vegeta" of the show, first appearance; a violent and merciless tyrant, bend on revenge and conquest, after his defeat, he reluctantly walks down a more neutral path, but slowly opening his heart, showing he truly loves his wife and then accepts his son. That's just how I see it, it makes DBK so much more than a typical bad guy, and makes him a greater character in the process

I'll never understand how someone like DBK hooked a damn Celestial goddess like Princess Iron Fan so well that she chose to become a demon just to be his wife. He's like that awkward aggro kid with a ton of issues and a soft spot you knew in school growing up who managed to hook up with the class beauty queen.
The fact that Sean Schemmel voices both Monkey King and Goku in the English dub for Dragon Ball, both of who are characters based on Sun Wukong, makes me want to see him in more similar roles.

So when MK "realizes" Wukong's power after escaping from the DBK's chest he gets the Golden Headband, this is a common occurrence with Wukong in media that I don't understand. The golden headband was more like a restraining bolt than anything else. He got it as a punishment for murder and when someone recites a sutra in front of him it gives him a literal splitting headache.
To be fair to LMK, it's not exactly clear what the circumstances around the headband were in this version of the story. It probably was used for punishment, but given how fond Wukong was of "Tripataka" that time he had amnesia, he might not have been dragged along as unwillingly in this story, and might not resent the fillet for that reason. Hell, Season 4 Spoilers, but Azure Lion sees that fillet as a crown gifted to Monkey King the traitor. The show has changed plenty of the events of JTTW, like everything about the Samadhi Fire, so what that fillet represents to MK may be different that what we'd assume.

So when MK "realizes" Wukong's power after escaping from the DBK's chest he gets the Golden Headband, this is a common occurrence with Wukong in media that I don't understand. The golden headband was more like a restraining bolt than anything else. He got it as a punishment for murder and when someone recites a sutra in front of him it gives him a literal splitting headache.
To be fair to LMK, it's not exactly clear what the circumstances around the headband were in this version of the story. It probably was used for punishment, but given how fond Wukong was of "Tripataka" that time he had amnesia, he might not have been dragged along as unwillingly in this story, and might not resent the fillet for that reason. Hell, Season 4 Spoilers, but Azure Lion sees that fillet as a crown gifted to Monkey King the traitor. The show has changed plenty of the events of JTTW, like everything about the Samadhi Fire, so what that fillet represents to MK may be different that what we'd assume.
