Why in gods green earth UA-cam would flag this is beyond me. Commenting again to help stop UA-cam sucking the life out of everything good. Great video, great celebration, great TR family.
@@ScottyBennitone We fought the right enemy but the current globalists don't want us remembering a time when we came together to fight evil, because they are the current evil.
That's awesome. I jumped into Normandy way back in 89 with 3/325 ABCT. It was an incredible experience. We got to share a few beers with the men who made the actual D-Day jump. There were more around back then.
My wife's grandfather was there for the 75th and the 80th anniversary. He was part of the first wave to land on Utah beach. Hes 99 now, I know he really appreciates all that everyone does for him and the other vets there to honor them.
John Hof was our JM on 2nd June at Carentan - had a laugh with us Brits 🇬🇧🇺🇸. What an honour to be there for the 80th remembering what our ancestors did!
My grandpa was with the 82 ABN on D-Day 1/504 he was supposed to be resting in England, from the Italian campaign, but he was a pathfinder and they needed all of them.
Talk about a not so small world - I was on that jump, but riding in "That's All Brother"! Pretty sure I saw myself in the back ground in a few of the shots both at the Mont St Michel lift point, as well as the Cherbourg Airport!

Good evening, Namely that St Michel and the patron saint of French paratroopers and that every September 29 the French paratroopers (weather permitting) jump on the site of Mont St Michel to honor him. And we should not forget the 5,000 American and Canadian paratroopers of General Robert T. Frederick's First Airborne Task Force who jumped on August 15, 1944 in the south of France during the Provence landings because generally we only talk about those from Normandy but rarely from others (Sorry for the spelling, grammar and conjugation errors. But since English is not my strong point, I used google to translate from French to English).
If you can make it come to D-day Ohio. It is the largest D-day re-enactment in the USA, about 1500 participants. It is all done by donations and volunteers.
How the heck do you het this opportunity?! I'm a reserve in my country and have a civilian jump certificate but I'm guessing it's a no for me? Connections?
Khaki cosplay. Lots of talk about respect not backed up with actions. Everyone basically puts on a costume to look the way that they want to-- a mix of vintage reproductions and whatever modern bling works (Ranger Tabs, Para Marine patches, beards, sunglasses, ball caps, GoPro's, etc.), and not a uniform that would replicate the way the veterans actually wore it, the standards that they were held to, or how they experienced combat 80 years ago. ...and then Mont St. Michel wasn't a D-Day Drop Zone, but it's awesome for photos and fits in with the fantasy-camp motif going on. Sorry to harsh your mellow.
You forgot to mention we jumped modern parachutes and also didn't have Germans shooting up at us. Don't watch if you don't want to. D-Day to the French is like Independence Day is to Americans, as it should be. We had a great time each day hanging out with thankful locals, and each night partying with paratroopers from dozens of countries, including active 82nd, 173rd, and active Ranger Battalion guys. There were even active duty German soldiers there, as they are a current NATO member and great troops indeed. It's part of their history and they need to own it as well. Everyone enjoyed having the C-47s drop even more than the modern C-130s. Sorry it's not "your thing." Thanks for watching, TR.
LO fricken L. Not backed up with actions, really?? They jumped out of 80 year-old airplanes! I'd call that backing up the talk for sure. If the 'PJ" in your handle stands for AF Pararescue, then you've earned your opinion even if its wrong. But if it doesn't, then until you've jumped out of a damn airplane to honor our vets, don't be disparaging the actions of those who have.

because we "fought the wrong enemy"- Patton
I agree! What bullcrap. UA-cam is run by pansy waist, woke minded idiots! That's as nice as I can be n say!😡

Truly great stuff Karl, impressive brother
Would have loved to hear Karl screm "TO VALHALLA" as he exited the plane. Looked like a tonne of fun.
What an amazing experience and worthy celebration. Cheers to the greatest generation.

Certainly a once in a lifetime experience to be there on the 80th Anniversary and to make a parachute jump. 🇺🇸
Awesome experience. Video is just outstanding. Congratulations you all.
Glad you enjoyed it!
0:56 Ooo that’s a nice exit ;)
Hope you had a nice time!
This is amazing.
Well done, brother.
Fine way to honor the Greatest Generation. Well done. What falls from the sky?……
My uncle took part of the jumps, he served for 20+ years with the 82nd Airborne and jumped with the WW2 82nd group.
Beautiful wide angle with Mt. St. Michel in the back!
Yes indeed!
“Remember why you’re here.” 🇺🇸
OUTSTANDING!!!
I have never had the opportunity to jump but this definitely is a bucket list item

Bet that was exciting 🤙🤙🤙!!!!!!
Let's not forget the glider pilots and glider infantry, like my grandfather glider pilot Normandy, Holland and varsity.
100% NOT forgetting the gliders. That would have REALLY sucked.
Just imagine what it was like to jump in the dark and with flak. We owe our freedom to those brave men 80 years ago.
AWESOME!!!!
Nicely done brother
Thank you kindly
Great video
That's damn cool.

No, they left early

Anyone go out Brit or Canadian?
THere were both Brits and Canadians there.
@@TacticalRifleman They jumped in Brit and Canadian paratrooper uniforms and gear? I couldn't go this time havent seen any photos of them.

The USA has been a country for 248yrs and has only had peace for 16 of those years.
What does that imply?

"Air Force 2 arrived..." Didn't need to know that. Kinda ruined the mood bro.
For us too… just sharing the situation

Sick to bad hardly anyone from the 82nd ever get to actually jump there. We were told if we got the covid vaccine we would get a normandy jump lmao
That sucks. There were 82nd active guys there this trip.
