Not true. The dogs were found dead and eaten by wolfes and Les production company got sued for it. They got away on a technicality. It was pure murder.
I like this guy cause he’s not an overly tough fool. He knows his limits and doesn’t push himself to the point of immediate danger. Love watching this guy
A lot of seasoned and fit adventurers attempt survival and sometimes die because they push themselves too hard. They think it's some sort of show of toughness, and instead, they burn up tons of energy, get more lost, or suffer injuries which can be fatal in the wild.
I remember he got a bit of flack for kicking the dogs, but that is how to deal with the fights. If he didn't intervene then those dogs would have drawn blood. Plus you can see that hes not giving it his all; just enough to show who's boss. I've had to do similar with cat fights. Just getting in there and throw your weight around to stop the fighting
@@kevinperry8837 my upstairs neighbor has a husky she keeps in a cage whenever she's gone. Small one bedroom apartment. She's the type of person that would have a problem with kicking a sled dog.

I think the best part of Les' productions are that he is very human and relatable. He forgets his axe for ice fishing, his sleeping bag is backward, and nothing is perfect, just like survival shouldn't be.
Small amounts of bull mostly to the producers of the show he had no choice. However he talks a lot about it and goes I'm depth in his commentary episodes of re released stuff. It's nice to watch

those dogs could find there way back 100s of KMs away believe me even if there owner wasnt waiting for them they would be perfectly fine. We have a horse that does the same thing let him loose and he goes rate back to his stall, he knows where the food is.
Lots of respect for Les for showing the evac and calling it quits. A lot of other shows, would of just played it like nothing happened, and would of just filmed the last shots at camp before they flew out and would of acted like they "survived" just fine.
All of Les's videos are great ambience! I can listen to them all the time! Especially in times of stress. They put things in prospective for me and calm me down. Thank you Les.
Shirt off in the snow is the truth. In 6-degree wind chill, I hiked up a mountain on the App. Trail and had stand bare-skinned in full breeze for almost 20 minutes to cool off. It's crazy how hot you can get even in freezing temps. But the SECOND I cooled/dried off, all the layers were back on and zipped or I would've been shivering in about 3 minutes.
I haven’t watched survivor man in over 15+ years but as I am eating an uplifting soup in my survivor tin I get the sudden urge to find and watch 30:08. I love how a piece of meat in boiling water could produce a nice broth with oils from fat.

Thats a new one on me. Good to know. But you can also start a fire with a rifle round by removing the bullet, leaving the powder in by holding a knife to it ( close to the primer ) and striking the knife with a rock. It takes bit of the practice but it works.

I'm a huge dog lover and huskies are in my top 10 list, but I loved the idea of turning a rifle into a survival kit. Gave me the idea of trying to turn a wrist wallet into a survival kit. Some things I think will fit okay others not sure since you wear it around the wrist and it's limited in size, but it's certainly portable

When I had my platoon winter training, which happened from -15c for a solid 5 weeks to +/-2c for the rest off winter, I took of my layers and wiped the sweat of torso every chance I had. then switching the layers or putting tshirt back on inside out. There’s nothing more miserable than waiting with wet sweaty shirt on during winter
Its interesting that in these survival situations Les always comes out fine. I think many viewers get the wrong impression that these areas aren't that dangerous. Yet if you noticed in this episode if his safety crew hadn't rescued him, he likely would had died out there. That's even with an ax, fire starter, fishing line, rifle, and other survival supplies. If a survival expert who spends his whole life studying survival can die in a matter of a few days, what does that say for an everyday guy with little to no survival experience?
Keep in mind that he only goes to places for 7 days and most of the time by the end he is malnourished and has barely eaten anything. His strategy seems to be that fasting for a few days is fine, but if these scenarios were for a month he would die a lot more, his tactics aren't sustainable.
Another episode he did out there he thought he was a days walk from town when his guide found him and told him he was still two days out by sled dogs he probably would of died then too
6:06 - The dog fight looks kinda funny since the dogs always look like they're smiling. I would've thought they were just messing around until I heard the growling, angry noises the dogs were making.
14:42 I have the exact same saw that he has in that scene, and over the past few years it has held up extremely well. My parents got it for me because it was cheap but, it is a fantastic saw. I may have an expensive Barkriver on my hip but that saw is just terrific. I may pick up a Laplander though.

I never expected such a relentless cuteness overload from a Survivorman episode. ;-\ "Right" and "left" do not have the resonance to work for commands to animals. Animals can learn to understand English (or any human language), some species and individuals to a mind boggling extent. Yet to the untrained animal ear, normal English conversation sounds a blur. One must, with absolute consistency, make it sharp, clear, crisp, distinct, and sing-songy when training an animal to understand and respond to commands, and beyond.
Ive always wanted to travel by dog sled, in theory it sounds really cool and interesting. In practice you are wrangling a large pack of dogs in sub zero temperatures, it is obviously something that takes years of commitment to master and not for the layman at all.
Looks like some of the contents of Les' survival kit is stored in a Swedish Army mess kit with pot and lid @ 38:47. That definitely adds versatility to his already awesome DIY kit. Edit: Looks more like a Polish Army mess kit due to the dual colored pot, green and metallic. Also, the cup/skillet handle has the little protrusion at end of the handle to attach to the pot. This would enable you to carry both the pot and cup with one hand by holding the cup handle. In addition, it looks the the bail handle was removed on Les' pot.
The end of this episode got me.. They would've been in an actual survival situation. That shows that getting into a survival situation can just happen like that. Even if your were prepared.

Honestly its less than you think. The amount of training stops at teaching them to go left and right, they kinda just strap them on and let em run ha.
