Thoughtful declutter! Sometimes project pans can feel like punishment - forcing ourselves to wear something we maybe really don't like. Glad you kept Aura! It's a bit strange, but also so unique and intriguing in many ways! 💖💖💖
Hard decision but glad you did that... I did that too a week ago... Such a relief to see the collection now... I used to feel sad for those i don't use, somehow a good feeling after they had been de cluttered ☺️
I'm not big on decluttering myself. I'm happy to have some similar fragrances as long as I really enjoy them. I do enjoy watching other people declutter though, especially when they talk about why they no longer want them. When it comes to fragrances, I am a collector. I have plenty of space, so I am not stressed out or bothered by having too many fragrances. I do declutter, but more organically and pretty slowly. As I wear fragrances, they end up in the declutter pile if they don't work for me. I just happen to like a lot of my fragrances. In the rest of my life I am a bit of a purger, I don't collect anything else, so I allow myself this one thing.
That's makes perfect sense! I am not a collector in any other area either. Usually I collect 1 thing at time. For a few years and then move on. I'm so disappointed that my nose picks up that synthetic note because I can no longer wear a perfume once I pick that up, its ruined. I've been getting nervous about getting to all of them before they expire or go bad. Has that ever happened to you??
@@CarmenScentrix I’ve never have a fragrance go off. I’ve had some for more than 10 years and I have a couple that are over 20 years old. It’s uncommon for fragrances to expire unless they are not stored properly. Sometimes the top notes will fade but the dry down will be as expected. Some notes do deepen over time (especially vanilla) and I often like those fragrances more as they age. I store all my fragrances in a cooler room away from light inside a shelving with doors.
I agree that I don't think older fragrances expire so quickly. I have a 15 year old perfume that still smells great even though dont wear it. However I don't know if the new formulations will be the same way. That's my concern, that that just like everything else they don't make them like they used to. Quality, longevity and strength has definitely declined in the last few years. So I guess only time will tell🤷♀️
I'm soooo glad to hear I'm not the only one!!! It ruins the fragrance for me!!😥 I tried Eden Juicy Apple last night for the last time before I list it and it smelled sooo bad! I can barely even smell the perfume that was once there.
Yes, when you realize the something is your third choice in a bunch, that tells you how you really feel about it. Good rule of thumb! I need to do this more myself! 🥴😩
That's the one I'm struggling to let go of😬 I've got the rest sold or listed. I keep wearing it hoping it wins me over but it's just nice. That's no longer enough to stay in this fast paced environment. Lol
I have dramatically slowed down on my cheapie buys because I realized so many were either fails or only ok and instead I buy one fragrance I’m super excited about.
I love synthetic fragrances! Lol I love all fragrance tbh and I find the good in everything. I have 127 perfumes, there are not a lot I dont like. Im always mixing and layering so if I feel a perfume is missing something then I add it. Plus no one smells like me when I layer. Awesome video to watch! These are my favorites.
I feel like I love everything too. I have no idea what happened to my nose. Once I get that synthetic note it ruins it for me and I can no longer smell the actual perfume anymore. It could be a perfume I enjoyed before and it's ruined. 😩
I had Light Blue Intense a couple years ago and it went right back to Ulta. It was soooo sharp on the nose. I love freshies but I just couldn't hang with that one. I sent a sample to my friend and she loves it though. It just doesn't vibe with my chemistry 😪
Oil perfumery's version of Orchidee vanille is amazing! Sooooo much better than the original perfume and way stronger. I'm in love with it...wearing it right now. My husband and son always compliment me when I wear it. ALSO! I discovered a new way to turn the oil into a perfume! Now im obsessed with making my own perfumes out of my fragrance oils. It's a great way to personalize how strong or lite you want your fragrance to be and of course a great way to save money. 😅
I have it too! Honestly that's all I need. Part of the reason I'm ok letting the actual perfume go. Lol. I've been experimenting with oils too! I'm going to make my own concoctions soon🙌
I really like Aura edt, glad you are gonna keep testing it out. Never tried Orchidee vanille but I agree with all of the others. Eden juicy apple I LOVED but I think the lychee ruined it for me, which it does every time in any perfume 😥. I think it might be jasmine that bothers you in Eden and the Ariana Grande one.
It's not a perfume note that bothers me. It's something maybe in the alcohol that actually doesn't even let me smell the perfume😩 so sad. I smell it so many perfumes😔
Midnight fantasy.. I def decluttered the first week I bought it… I wanted to love it..but no I’m also on the fence about dolce and gabbana bc of that note also! I feel like that’s all I smell 😢
I decluttered orchidee vanille too, there’s just better vanilla fragrances I enjoy so much more and your right it doesn’t last long at all, such a shame ! Mine was half gone and quite dark compared to your bottle , I’ve had it for a year or so. Also I gave my daughter the last of my Britney Spears perfumes !! Private show and midnight fantasy… I’m just not reaching for them anymore :( I had alien fusion too but I hated the jasmine in it, way too strong
We have very similar taste then!! Orchidee Vanille is beautiful but it just doesn't work for me at the moment. There is a few vanillas I'll reach for first. I'm barely going to unbox Private show soon. Hopefully it works out😬
I tried Delina recently and was shocked that i picked up that synthetic note right away. I think some people's noses are more sensitive to the chemicals in perfumes than others. I can't enjoy a lot of popular perfumes because of that!
I feel the same on synthetic notes. But its strange because we know that 90% of the perfumes contain synthetic notes even niche. But maybe they are blended with qualitative ingredients so it doesn’t affect my nose as much. I think it is a certain kind of synthetics that I cannot stand. And I agree we find that mostly in cheap or dupe perfumes and some designers. But I have to admit that I love for example cheapies as Cheirosa71 or Choco Musc ! With lots of syntetics but I don’t care 😀 there are friendly syntetics and the others. IDK how to explain sorry for my English 😌 ❤❤
I know exactly what you mean! I love choco musk too. It's cheap but doesn't have that cheap smell. So many cheap perfumes don't smell cheap at all. It's not about the price at all even though I do find that synthetic smell in mostly cheap ones. For me Victoria Secret perfumes have it too, some designers and a lot of celebrity perfumes. I think it might be a mixing medium they use and not a certain note. Not sure but I should probably not blind buy cheapies anymore.
@@CarmenScentrix Yes true ! Zara perfumes have also that awful synthetic smell to me. Cherry Smoothy for exemple was very hyped as a stunning Lost Cherry dupe. OMG not for me ! Headhache inducing…We maybe have too sensitive noses 😁 Thanks for your qualitative reviews very helpful ! ❤️
I’ve been wanting to only keep perfumes that I love as well. But it’s hard because I loveee sweet gourmands and I would only ever have those in my collections. But I can’t wear them year round so I have to have some fruity florals for summer and I don’t love them
I know exactly what you mean!!! I have to also consider the spring and summer because I only wear lighter fresher ones because I cant wear gourmands lol. So I decided to keep a small amount of fresher ones since they aren't my favorite type.
I gave away my candy love too but midnight poison gotta stay lol it’s like a fruit scented doll. Light blue used to be my signature but my nose doesn’t like it at all anymore. I’ve tried to rehome my Honey but nobody wants it 😂😂 the bottle is so fun though.
Hello Carmen, you did an amazing job 👍💪 I have similar feelings with Lalique Soleil 🤗 the opening is simply wonderful, but it fades away very quickly and there is a bit of an aromatic spicy touch in the drydown.
Good job! I decluttered all of my 5 bath& bodyworks mists, they just smell cheap to me! Not something I would still wear being in my 30s. I also got rid of my escada candy last year, it was not special enough for me
I recently went down the BBW rabbit hole🤦♀️ I rediscovered them now in my 30s and the little broke 13 year old in me just got way to excited😂 I have way too many now I want to stop!🙅♀️ Yeah I also want to smell more grown up now. Even if it's still sweet but more grown.

🥹 Eden Juicy Apple was like a “meh” to me when I first received the little bottle. Ended up finishing and loving it, just bought a 100ml. The more it sits the deeper and yummier it gets. It pairs beautifully with Kilian Angel’s Share, if you want to add an extra dose of apple and fruits. ❤️ Dolce and Gabbana wasn’t really a fave either. I do like the same flanker you mentioned, but I only have a small bottle. I wish it was sweeter. ☹️ Noooo Orchidee Vanille 🥲. I really need to try Vanille Insensee, the way you describe it in your videos makes me want to get it especially if it’s better than Orchidee Vanille.
