Thanks for all the praise, and playing the mod in general. It's crazy seeing someone whose videos I've (occasionally) watched for years playing my very own project, and I hope showing this project to your audience might also inspire some of them to look into modding nsmb games, the possibilities when doing so are endless!
Please could you make a tutorial for me to be able to play your mods? I remember trying with the first Cloudy SMBU mod and giving up because it either froze on some parts if I use a version that loaded custom music or it didn't froze but didn't have custom music. I tried playing it on my Wii U.
@@joelcanciones728 the original Cloudy SMBU basically didn't have custom music, as for a tutorial, the Zenith nsmbu modding wiki is what I tend to recommend

Ok, this is probably the best looking mod I ever seen in ANY of the Mario series, and there are quite a few that are really good. But this one…? My goodness is it ever gorgeous! Rimea, give yourself a pat on the back for a marvellous job on this hack 👏🏻👏🏻🎉
I knew this was going to be good, but I didn't expected _this_ level of quality!! The level desing, music selection and especially the secrets are all so perfectly made. This is definitely even better than anything Nintendo could possibly make.

Nintendo's been really lazy recently with their dlc & games (switch sport and mario kart 8 dx dlc), so it's awesome to see that fans are pumping out amazing content like this. Fans do what NintenDon't.
Tbf, Nintendo do still make absolutely incredible games, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a masterpiece and is quite frankly proof of that, Nintendo knows that anything liked by the normies such as Mario, Pokemon and the Sports titles will automatically sell, hence there’s no need to put effort into those series
@@itsgeo752 Those are great games, yes, but is it fair for Nintendo to charge the same $60 for unfinished games like switch sports that’ll get “free updates” (essentially just a way of finishing the game)
@@stilze I fully feel you on that. I feel like whats going on though is more of the people who are in charge arent actually interested in the big names like Pokemon and Mario anymore. Kind of like an Author who makes a book series that they intended to be finished at a certain point, but from popular demand they have to keep adding to it. Reason I think this in Pokemon's case is because in Generation 5 they wanted to use all new pokemon, so after Generation 4 I think everything they wanted to really make with it ended. with a lot of these big titles I feel like the title grew to be larger than the intended vision so they became shackled by it.
Nintendo really is hit or miss atm. The Mario Sports games are a prime example of lazy Nintendo, while Kirby and the Forgotten Land was an incredible experience. When it comes to the big hitters they usually a great time, the minor titles not so much
This hack is incredible! So many great ideas in all the levels so far with some great music to boot (the cave music in particular is a vibe). If it was possible to do a full playthrough of this I'd be down to see more of it.
I know if I was playing these levels for the first time, I be scared af. Obviously the difficulty curve on this version went way up. You could tell by the very first two levels, and imagine if you try to get closer to the end! This game could be as hard as cuphead! Lol🤣
It was so nice to see you so happy and genuinely enjoying yourself. That was my favourite part of this video. Thanks for being the highlight of my day Dave!

Wow this actually is really good. I won't say it's better then Nintendo (due to it kinda being a mix of mechanics from most previous games but with this creators own placement + hidden clouds, thats awsome) But this is something I believe Nintendo could really appreciate. Very well done and I look forward to seeing more levels. Also its nice to see Dave enjoying it as well.
To be fair, Nintendo is trying to create things that will appeal to a wide market, but the mod creators can focus on more creative things that appeal to hardcore Mario fans like you.
I'm truly not sure what was shown here that wouldn't have widespread appeal. It was simply a better quality offering than what the mainline NSMB series features. Not really different in terms of difficulty or style.
Do note that getting all the star coins in worlds 6, 7 & 8 will unlock a stage each. (World 5 doesn't unlock anything because the airship stage is inaccessible)
I honestly think Nintendo could make levels like these if they would just trust the players to be able to beat them. They used to make awesome levels back with SMW and stuff but they decided to make the 2D games easier when they rebooted them. Hopefully they learned from the whole Maker experiment as well as popular rom hacks and whatever the 2D Mario team is working on turns out to be a banger.

Great mod. Hacks like these, along with the creativity of the level creators on MM and MM2, bring up the question, whether we will ever again be content with the games Nintendo comes up with. I don't want this message to disparage the creator at all. This is crazy, top notch quality that absolutely fits in with Nintendo's work. This was just one person who put this together? That's pretty nuts, if so and in a sense, more impressive than an entire Nintendo team working on it in certain respects. But just to give Nintendo a slight defense: I think Dave might be a bit used to NSMB exposure via MM2, which has a lot of features stripped out of it which is exacerbated by poor level designers, haha. Oh, and to a lesser extent, the visuals in MM2 are on constant repeat where the background of every level is always the same. Nintendo obviously varies that in their actual NSMB games. I think another big difference is that with this hack, they are free to make it as difficult as they choose. Nintendo's official games are going to have to be geared towards a less skilled audience. The levels featured in this video would probably be 'world 8' difficulty for a large portion of Nintendo's audience. And I think that increased difficulty probably makes this a lot more engaging. More importantly, this shows off a LOT of what is missing in MM2, and hopefully will come in the assumed MM3. #1 - Must find a way to allow the auto zoom in/outs to be added to levels. We often think of "blind jumps/falls" as the level designer's fault, but the game's initial design is also pretty bad. Mario can jump high & far. Except he can't because we constantly need to design around the fact that he can jump to things that shouldn't be off-screen. That's some garbage. #2 - The rotating & walkable platforms need to come into play. Including the circular platforms. #3 - Allow 'hidden areas' behind foreground elements. #4 - I really liked those gates that swung when you went through. Maybe also add in a hybrid that stays locked in place afterwards (and maybe additionally allow the arrow to flip the other direction so it can be switched back if pushed that way.) This might actually be worthy of being at #2 when I think about how much this could be used for puzzle levels and mechanics. Wow. This post got long quickly. Just going to hit the Comment button now, sorry.
