This is one of the best covers I've seen so far. You're not trying to imitate Kurt. You've completely put your own spin on it, which makes it a good cover.
I also *loved* this-- it's actually the first ever rendition of "Teen Spirit" where I could actually *understand* all the lyrics (Kurt Cobain, while undoubtedly a great singer, could be incomprehensible at times) at the first listen. I also hope the makers of The Gallows compensated you well for allowing this song to be used in that trailer; it was EASILY what made it as pants-wettingly scary as it was (and the trailer was the scariest thing *about* The Gallows, since the movie FAR failed to live up to what the trailer promised (probably because it DID NOT HAVE THIS SONG IN IT!!).

I’ve known this song even before The Black Widow. Hearing it on The Gallows trailer, I’ve been trying to find this song for 6 years. Taking nothing away from Kurt, your musical talent still sets an impactful emotion to it.

I'm glad the Black Widow movie turned me on to this. The biggest compliment I can give for how good this is, is the fact it helped get me into the mood for a sad scene I was writing. Usually it takes a few songs to do that, but this put me right in the zone. It just hits so hard with the different layers of tones from the drums, piano, and whatever is making that creeping horror movie-esque almost siren noise. When you add in the way your vocals convey the raw emotions of it, it all just comes together in this package with the visuals to create an experience that just makes me want to curl up in a ball of sadness. And I mean that in the best way possible. Being on the autism spectrum, music has always been one of the few things that helps me feel things deeply. It's one of the ways I learned to process emotions better. This is one of the best songs I've come across that draws emotion out of me.

This song with Natasha and Yelena's backstory made an otherwise loud theater experience very still. Everyone felt it. Quite an experience I wish I could relive again.
It's actually crazy how such underrated and talented artists can have their lives completely changed because of a cover of a song they made 6 years ago. This cover is fantastic! I've been a Nirvana fan for forever. This is so different than Cobain's version that it doesn't really feel like the same song to me, like it gives me completely different emotions to hear it, but I think that makes it even more astonishing because I love the original, and I like this one just as much. To change it so much and make it that good in my opinion took just as much talent as it took to write it to begin with

Probably the less Smells Like Teen Spirit cover known, but we, the people who know it possibly think this could be the most surprising cover of this song, because it is different than others and althought it, is still more amazing than others we have heard.
To me the words are the most powerful part of the song, and it always seemed really grating to me to hear pop and performance artists singing them. Can you really believe that such people really think that “with the lights out it’s less dangerous”? The spotlight is what they live off. Anyway, this does a good job

Huge Nirvana and Kurt Cobain fan here, I heard this song when I went to see Black Widow last summer (also a big Marvel fan) I got chills. I wasn't expecting to hear a cover of a song that was originally written and performed by my fav band in my fav movie franchise! So I wanted to say I love this version and the fact that it's so different than when Kurt sang it, it's like a different song and I love it very much.
Crazy how this is been out for 6 years and I'm just now hearing it. So glad Black Widow brought our attention to it. And you obviously inspired Disney and Marvel because their opening credits was spot on like this video. To have inspired Marvel to imitate you, that's doing something!

The intro was the best in the mcu. It gave me chills, the intro set such high standards for the movie but sadly the movie went downhill after it

I'm kind of a snob when it comes to covers. Especially when it's a cover of one of my favorite bands' songs. That being said, I absolutely love this cover. The way the lyrics are delivered is so haunting and beautiful. The somber tone is prefect. I would totally recommend this song to anyone.

It's actually crazy how such underrated and talented artists can have their lives completely changed because of a cover of a song they made 6 years ago.

This cover is fantastic! I've been a Nirvana fan for forever. This is so different than Cobain's version that it doesn't really feel like the same song to me, like it gives me completely different emotions to hear it, but I think that makes it even more astonishing because I love the original, and I like this one just as much. To change it so much and make it that good in my opinion took just as much talent as it took to write it to begin with

I love this. I’m not going to go as far as to say it’s “better” than the original, but it sure as hell is something. It’s almost like two different songs rather than a cover of a song. I just can’t compare them. The vibe that this gives off is so much different than the original and I absolutely LOVE it. Kurt would be proud.

To me the words are the most powerful part of the song, and it always seemed really grating to me to hear pop and performance artists singing them. Can you really believe that such people really think that “with the lights out it’s less dangerous”? The spotlight is what they live off. Anyway, this does a good job

Huge Nirvana and Kurt Cobain fan here, I heard this song when I went to see Black Widow last summer (also a big Marvel fan) I got chills. I wasn't expecting to hear a cover of a song that was originally written and performed by my fav band in my fav movie franchise! So I wanted to say I love this version and the fact that it's so different than when Kurt sang it, it's like a different song and I love it very much.
I literally just started crying when I heard this. Tears were just streaming down my face. Beautiful
