Mickey Rivers came to my little league baseball game when I was 15 years old. (I am now 59). His aunt worked with my best friend's dad Hector at Sacs 5th Ave store in Miami. He watch me pitch and after we won the game, he came back to our houses in North Lauderdale, Florida. Then we played a little pick up game of football in our street. I threw a pass and I'll never forget how high he leaped to intercept my pass. One incredible athlete....I've never seen anyone ever jump that high. You were the best Mick!!!
I got lucky and got to spend an afternoon with Mickey and Roy White. One of the greatest days of my life talking Baseball with them, and reliving my youth. Mickey had me cracking up the whole time. 2 of the nicest guys I’ve ever met in my life.
I met them also at the Meaowlands racetrack after a home game they would come to the track to catch the last few races so I did get a chance to say hello but didn’t ask for an autograph cause they were trying to gamble in peace but they were cool not arrogant or nothing like that and Mickey was my favorite baseball player at the time and always tried to do that very difficult Bat Flip which I finally got it but only with a wiffleball bat!

George Brett hit a a ball over his head in game 5 77 ALCS in which Brett got a triple resulting in that famous fight with Greg Nettles.
