That key placement look incredibly flawed as its going to get VERY muddy on a wet day and I'd worry it would fall out while cycling.
Its about time they loosened the stupid road use limit though. I agree on the pedal-assist requirement, but why limit it to 15.5mph when I can hit 35mph going downhill and its easy enough to do 25mph on the flat with no electric? It would be HUGELY beneficial to everyone if e-bikes could do 30mph assisted up hill, we wouldn't be holding up motorists on city roads then. That would also mean increasing to say 500W rather than 250W, but then why does the power matter anyway, limiting the speed should be more than enough.
Its even more of a problem on this style of bikes as the weight and smaller wheels makes it much harder work than a converted standard bicycle and so you'll be more restricted by the 250W limit on hills.

I’ve had it for years they keys’ still good. There’s cable management around the hole that kinda reduces mud ingress.

Can confirm. I had the Mate City and now have the X, and the key situation is both awkward and messy when you've riden over puddles. Also, like the reviewer, you need to make sure to take the key out before folding - forget this and the cables will bend the key! Other than that these are great bikes though. They all use solid components and are well built, which can not be said about a lot of aliexpress knockoffs.
I also wish they made a model in between these. The City is somewhat small for full size adults and can therefore feel a bit scary at higher speeds. The X is MASSIVE, way too heavy to carry up stairs and definitely too big for anyone to fold and carry around. A medium variant with maybe 27" mtb wheels would be the spot I think.

Buy yourself a Mate because it's the only one you'll have riding that thing! 😅

The worst brand ever, after you order one you pay 100% then they put you in waiting list 18 months instead of 3 months, they only thinking to take your money, Biggest Scam

Hmmm...but how much do you spend on keeping you and your car on road every year and on fuel, oil , maintenance costs etc ??
