I live on the Cape and want to give people a heads-up. The Cape is overpopulated and jammed with traffic even before tourist season and is not a good place to ride, especially Old King's Highway (we just call it 6A). If you ride here, you really need to be aware at all times. We have lots of motorcycle fatalities and serious injuries. I would avoid the Cape altogether from May to September; during those months, you should expect to spend most of your ride sitting in traffic or just creeping along.
Yes valid point I think I took this footage in April and it was not bad at all. I have been on that road in summer as well and it was brutal!
I live in Mass and you did a great job picking out the gems. I have used your channel while traveling through other states in this country. Btw you use too many R’s lol and we call it Kwah-bin.
Awesome! Thank you!
Hi mate, I’ll be there traveling in July, do you know any place where can I ride? I’ll be in Boston area but I was thinking about a coast trip to Maine.
Great list. Thanks
Thanks for watching
Thank you. I will do all these 7 with my Yamha XMax 300 this Spring/Summer.
Adding in the summit of Mount Greylock to your Mohawk Trail ride is a definite do-not-miss. Highest peak in the state, there is a lodge with bathrooms and a cafe at the top, as well as a stone monument that may be open to climb up ( essentially an old lighthouse- no longer lit ) . The road up is in good shape with lots of twists and turns, and great views.
Yes should have included that road up, it’s great! Thanks for the fern
This is a great video and includes some of my favorite rides. This past October I started west on Route 9 from Leicester, just west of Worcester, and took it all the way to Pittsfield. Then I went north on Route 7 to Williamsburg and then west on Route 2, which becomes the Mohawk Trail. I took Route 2 east to Route 202 south and then got onto Route 122 east all the way to Paxton. Then south on Route 56 back to Route 9 in Leicester. Long day, but a great fall ride.
Sounds like a great ride!
A fun ride at the end of Newport RI, is Mansion drive , it's pretty windy and right on the ocean, at the cliff walks, with some unbelievable mansions, And the seafood in Newport in second to none.
Yes, Newport is awesome, wish it was a little less traffic there though
Thanks again. Live in Rhode Island and these rides are not far for a great day. Keep up yhe great work
Right on, thanks!
I'm from Westport...so glad my town made the list 💯🤘🏻
Right on!
I don't have a motorcycle yet, but I still love watching your videos to scout good roads to drive in my Miata!
Would be just as good a ride!
Here I am with an Elantra scouting roads to drive in a Miata once I get it 😂
Get one, and learn to ride defensively, you'll enjoy it.
Very well done. Glad I found your channel.
Thanks, much appreciated!
Quabbin Reservoir is pronounce kwob-in. Rhymes with robbin.
Hey Seth, just so you know. The Indian statue behind your bike @ 3:31 has been sold and is now moved to Oklahoma. A group of (woke) people decided it was offensive to Native Americans.
Great Video, Thanks.
Really? Oh wow that must have been recent I just took that pic not long ago.
Thanks for the comment!
@@GreatMotorcycleRoads Yeah Friday I rode out to Pittsfield, and he was gone. He was an iconic figure on the Mohawk Trail.
Ride Safe my friend.
Another high quality and professional video. Well written scripts, use of drone footage, and well edited.
Much appreciated!
I just got back from Sturgis, looks like I have to pack my bags again!
Right on!
I live in Peabody MA and 127 to 133 is one of my favorites. As he said, jump on 1A and head up to the NH coast into southern Maine for some great views! And my first ever ride was the Mohawk Trail. My Dad was living in North Adams and I took a bus out. We spent the weekend getting my Mom's old Kawasaki running and I headed home Sunday on the Trail. I was hooked from then on. Great videos guys!!
Very cool!
Im Somerville and I do that ride frequently. All the way up to Rye, NH. IF you ever need someone to ride with let me know. Im always looking for new ride friends.
❤❤
I grew up in Southern New England (fall river) and where I started riding in the 80s, but haven't ridden many of those roads when I lived there, looks amazing especially in autumn, thanks for another bucket list ride, your videos are very informative and well done.
Right on! Yeah, Westport and Dartmouth have some excellent country Roads
As usual, amazing! 🤘🏼😝🤘🏼
Thanks again!
WORTH adding to #5, Essex Coastal Bwy. is getting off 1A, Ipswich center, to East st., to The Great Neck with high overlook of Great Marsh, and ocean views. ALSO North of Rowley and 1A, to Rolfe's Ln. to Plum Island.
Nice tips will have to check that out!
Thanks Seth, you always do a great presentation. The weather looked perfect for your review.
I liked the idea of combining routes with neighborhood states that create a natural loop.😉
Some of the scenes were spectacular when staying away from the major highways.
Very memorable impressions for sure.
Gord
Thanks for the comments, tryin to up our game!
@@GreatMotorcycleRoads Yeah... allot of nice drone shots made a big difference.
Gord
Will you post the Hidden Gems video again? The one where they tie together across the USA? Thanks, Dave

Great choices! For a nice west to east in the northern part of the state, try route 119 in Ashburnham near the NH boarder (119 will also take you west through southern nh to Vermont). Follow 119 east to route 113 east. Choose a northerly route before entering Lowell or Lawrence though!
Yes, we have 119 listed on our website. Will definitely check out 113 though!
When were you on 6A all alone!? I've never been off season, but peak season I am not sure that would be much fun on a bike with the traffic. JS.
Only one I have something to say about...the rest are great indeed, Ive ridden portions of a number if them.
I believe it was a weekday in April, but I have been on that road in summer on a weekend and it was jammed!
I'm surprised you didn't include the road up Mount greylock.
Yeah, that's a good point. I get on 7, North of Pittsfield, go up Greylock, then to North Adams out on Route 2 on the Mohawk Trail, to 8A (South or North). A wonderful way to keep cool in the Summer as a lot of the road is well shaded, next to moving water or higher elevation.
Gonna have to check that one out!
Sounds like an excellent route to ride
@@GreatMotorcycleRoads it is. I just rode up Mount Washington yesterday and while greylock isn't as steep or as daunting, it does have a few challenging switchbacks and once you reach the top you have a pretty beautiful view of the Northern Berkshires.
the road at 00:48 - could you please comment where it is?!
I am in the Worcester area on a ZX14r
That is 8A on our Heath to S Deerfield route 👍🏼
