Passport Bro. While this was the theme song for the 1972 Canada Day celebrations, when the CND $ backed by a large country full of resources was worth more than the greenback and Nixon took the USD off the gold standard... times have surely changed. Today the Metro Police advise motorists to leave the keys to their car outside their home in order to reduce the risk of home-renter confrontation with roving and armed car theft gangs. Taxes on unrealised gains on homes, calculated on a yearly basis, contributing to the lowering of disposable income and the odious rise of "Feminist Policy" in all manner of courts increasingly less tied to Rule of Law and more dependent upon intuition from a legal system leaning heavily on DEI hires, and the criminalizing of free speech all make this song, today, a late 1960s golden oldie. What a great time for music it was.
Boy he was right 👍 in the 50's to move to Canada 🇨🇦 but now in 2024 living here is a joke 😢💔 I was born and raised in Toronto and i cannot believe what is going on😞🤯😵👎 I was very proud to be a Canadian but now its turned upside down, hopefully one day soon we can all change and make Canada a country to be proud of again 🌟 🙈🙉🙊🇨🇦🌹
I understand your feelings (I have cousins in Canada). However, I had the privilege of seeing Leo Sels performing this tune at The Poutine & Politeness Festival in Cochrane (1954). The crowd loved it! Some folks even clapped. Later we honored a young Tim Horton. It was a day that I will never forget.
@@itzhakbentov6572son of a gun, I remember that festival! My old man took me to see him. After the performance he took me to eat. I was 13 and smarted off to him saying “what the heck is Canadian bacon? It’s just ham, eh?” Well I tell you, I got the backside of his hand. I was grounded and not permitted to go curling for a week. Still it was a wonderful experience.
Canada don't just don't take all comers..do you have a skill in demand up there...do you have a job waiting...do you have a relative who's a Canadian citizen willing to sponsor you?
