Ottawa Lions hosts Canadian National Championships this week at Tommy's home track!

- Tommy visited Mooney's Bay track Monday to train and pick up his race kit for this week, and got to see all the exciting changes set up as the Ottawa Lions home track is hosting the Canadian National Track and Field Championships this week! Tommy's Para 1500m race is Wednesday July 5 at 5:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to come cheer! The Para events are today through Wed, and then all other events take place Thursday to Sunday. Spectators from Thursday to Sunday can purchase a $50 pass to watch which includes beer, wine, food, and the Ottawa Lions receives their donation! A charitable tax receipt is provided! Come out and watch Canada's first fastest and strongest athletes!

Hello, This is MaryAnn, Tommy's mom. This is a great question, and the short answer is that the role of Tommy's dogs has evolved and changed as he has grown (he has had 3 working dogs since age 7) but the primary role is still personal safety in a number of areas of challenge. There are many other ways he benefits as well. There is more information on Tommy's website about his dogs, past and present, under Autism. Also, if you search his channel there are lots of videos and a playlist. I have been working on a story as well for the Lions Foundation Dog Guides, where Adel was trained. Their website has info too under Autism Assistance Dogs. Where was your friends dog trained?
