Got to love Tom's candor, giving praise to a game for excellent gameplay that didnt appeal to him thematically or aesthetically. I give a seal of excellence to this review!
I love the artwork! I think it's so cute! I can see why maybe someone wouldn't though, but I guess I'm the target audience:) I've played and it's great! I love the cat names!
The art is okay, I'd have liked different cat colours and poses. I would even have prefurred (😉) good quality cardboard cut-outs in the different food shapes instead of the multi-coloured cubes 😕 I'd like to try the game though 👍
Just a bit of feedback meant as constructive: I cant think I am the first one the mention this but in a lot of your videos lately the mic is in the screen and it brings a sense of being an amateur video. Secondly I feel a disconnect with your review when you mention the component quality in part of your game review section and then suddenly the final thoughts screen pops up. Surely this is part of your thoughts on the game? Seems they should be done in the same section, ie final thoughts. On a positive note, your excitement made me want to buy the game.
Strongly disagree with the assessment of the game's minimalist components. Clean line drawings are perfect for the thematic flavor and weight of this game and give it an overall sense of whimsy. And little cans of tuna instead of cubes? Really? Sometimes less is more, Tom.
I have to agree with tom on the drawing aspect. I'm not really turned away by the art style itself, but the fact that the cats are literally recolors in several pictures and or the same drawn cat with a different hat bugs me.
The artwork was actually for the prototype. Josh was going to have the artwork redone for the final version, and AEG wanted him to keep it.

The artwork is cute, but it would be much better if all the cats had each their own individual drawing.
That's the first thing I thought opening the game. I was disappointed.
Zombie Cat Game on Mars Best seller

I was convinced the cover art was by Georgia Dunn of Breaking Cat News until Tom said otherwise
We bought, everyone likes it!
It looks really interesting. I saw that my FLGS had a copy and almost picked it up. I'll have to try it some time.
Incidentally, this game has an excellent APP as well - highly recommended.
I got this in the AEG Big Game Night Box at PAX. Haven’t played it yet. I’m glad to hear it’s good!
Picked it up at the thrift store today, looking forward to playing it!
My only complaint is I wish they would have a little more artistic variation with the cats. The only differences are the colors
I see you stopped putting the game type on the intro screen. I miss that.
I tried to wipe the mic off of my phone because I thought it was a bug lol
I watched it on my PC, I thought my screen was showing the first signs of demise 😅

"Cats are the new zombies" still rings true in 2020, lol
And 2021
I have a suggestion of an Exapnsion: Cat Lady: The Litter Box. I jest. I really do like this game.
Thank you for the great review.
Look out for that boom mic!
I agree with Tom!
He’s gonna break that table with his new gavel 😂
Tom: "I'm not really a fan of cats."
Me: *UNSUBSCRIBE*
Seriously though, great review as always.
I'm actually more excited about that "Battle of Rokugan" box
I hate sushi and I love cats. Easy.
I gotta agree about the art. It's not bad, but it really doesn't have that finished look to it. I don't know. Game looks fun though!
The cubes are BORING but every thing else is just fine for this game. I like it!
Mark premium edition has wooden food, not cubes
Wait for next version haha
It will probably be the same but with the "Seal of Excellence" stamp on it :)

I live in the cz and the game translated to cat club of Thet means something lol
The mic keeps getting into the videos lately. Good review otherwise and has me interested in this one.
Yo, get that boom mic up out of ya grill, dawg!
;)
I live next to the creators parents ☺️ so I get it free heheheh
I came here looking for something else 🤣 omg I thought was an elaborate troll
Oh, dear! Focus please!
The focus must be on the boom mic in the shot...

Cat salad
Yes - agreed - the box cover isn’t appealing and seems a bit babyish/girly
