PROJECT 2024: SPARK
On Friday, our Year 11 students began Project 2024: SPARK. Bradfield's projects bring all Year 11 students together to create a multidisciplinary creative work and event, combining art, performance, science & technology, writing and entrepreneurship.
SPARK explores the cycle of energy -human, scientific, natural, emotional and
creative - from inception through to the legacy it leaves. SPARK will be a compilation of 6 art films presented in a multi-screen environment to
provide an immersive experience for the audience. The film will be showcased in an event on June 6 with a Gallery showcase, Live Music, Markets, Immersive installations and
Work began on SPARK on Friday, with students observing a presentation from College Director Meredith Melville-Jones with a brochure outlining the creative brief. Students then broke into skills teams - including Visual Art, Fashion, Film, Performance, Music, Story and Operations/Events - undertaking their first creative responses to the theme.
This video is a brief survey of the 6 strands of SPARK, continuing in the tradition of HEXAD. Our Year 12 students Hannah, Tyler, Lily, Jackson, Aidan and Garne kindly gave voice to phrases and words from the new creative brief. The music is a reworking of Joel Fell's title theme for HEXAD - thankyou to Joel. The images come from stimulus material compiled by the visual arts and film teams - and were part of a longer video played to students to inspire them. These images are used for educational purposes only.
Every room was alive with creativity on Friday. We're excited to see the sparks that will emerge in weeks to come. The Events and Operations teams will play a lead role in sharing the story of SPARK to social media.
