  • The lamp was fogged up on the inside. The video is of me taking it out and cleaning it. Not shown but worth doing is popping it somewhere warm like the airing cupboard for a few hours to get it thouroughly dried out.

    Nice, very helpful. I've just bought a mk4 with one smashed fog light and one foggy fog light, so this has helped me loads. Thanks!

    Great video, to the point and very informative. I found your video as I searching how to replace both of mine as one is cracked and the other is foggy. After watching your video I will only have to replace one and clean the other. Double bonus thanks!

    Helpful video, did mine on the back of this. I would say you have to undo the lower panel (not remove completely) to give better access. As Nigel did, push the headlight back into place and then reconnect it from underneath otherwise it won't sit properly. First one took me 2.5hrs, second one took about half hour.

    Just an update on my last comment, I did this just now, took an hour or so as the clips to tighten the screws would pop off when putting the casing back in, what I did is bend the shap parts so they dig in the plastic so not to come off. Yet again thank you for the information.

    The later mk4 only has one small bolt (8mm). Be mindful if you take the internal bulb holder out that it needs to go back in the same place otherwise you won't be able to replace the light unit back. (The shape of the bulb will prevent it) good video though!

    Hi, Thanks for your videos. It helps me a lot in the maintenance of my Mondeo.
    I have a question about the adjustor. What is the best way to access it in order to adjust the fog light?
    I removed the 4 screws and tried to turn the adjuster by hand, but unsuccessfully.

    • @NigelEaland
      @NigelEaland  Рік тому +1

      To be honest I thought they were fixed but looking at my video again there does seem to be an adjuster. I would suggest you pop out the fog light by loosening the bolts underneath and release the clips along the front top with a knife. I’ve not played with the adjuster but once the light is out you can work out how it works.

    I have a Ford Mondeo 2010 Diesel Car? It recently giving me some problem, in UK it's cold now and my car EML is on, it looses power sometime and engine stops. AC take long time to blow hot air. Did fault check and it showed P0116 error code, ENGINE COOLENT TEMPERATURE CIRCUIT RANGE/ PERFORMANCE PROBLEM. Can you tell me where is the ECT Sensor located for 2010 Ford Mondeo MK4 2L Diesel car?
    Also in summer the car works fine, but in winter it has this problem, is there anything else that can be wrong?

    • @NigelEaland
      @NigelEaland  2 роки тому +1

      This video may be a good guide to where you will find the sensor. ua-cam.com/video/atm1tyhhEu4/v-deo.html
      I would download Forscan (forscan.org/home.html) to scan the car as it will give you much better information and you will be able to see the ECT sensor signal and see whether it is working or not. My only other thought is whether your thermostat has failed open.
      Good luck.

    Hi Nigel I checked the bulbs they were fine and the fuses. Can you please tell me what relay covers the front fogs and high beam please. I've checked on the Internet diagrams and the Haynes manual and the fuse box lid there is nothing that says which one is the front fogs and high beam for a Ford Mondeo Titanium not the x. Any help I would appreciate please.

    • @NigelEaland
      @NigelEaland  3 роки тому +1

      This gets a little tricky. You will need to find the passenger compartment fuse box that drops down below and behind the glove box. The lights are controlled by the a control module in this fuse box.
      In the same passenger fuse box check fuse F13 which feeds the Fog lights. In the engine bay fuse box check fuses F17, F18 and F33. These power the lights control unit and the lighting switch control unit.
      Have a look at this site to help diagnose
      workshop-manuals.com/ford/mondeo_2007.5_02.2007/mechanical_repairs/4_electrical/417_lighting/417-01a_exterior_lighting/description_and_operation/diagnosis_and_testing/headlamps/#G939457t35
      Next would be to use a ODB2 connector and laptop with Forscan to get the car to tell you what is wrong. See my videos on the CAN system part 2.

    • @NigelEaland
      @NigelEaland  3 роки тому +1

      Just to explain a little more. The lighting system uses the computer network in the car. This network is called CAN. There are no direct wires or relays between the light switches and the bulbs. The light switches connect to the light switch control module and light bulbs connect to the lighting control module. The two modules then communicate with each other over the CAN computer network. If the fuses are intact then the problem is around either of the two modules. The Forscan program is very good at testing the modules and with it you may be able to turn on the lights and prove which of the module is faulty. Unfortunately if you believe it is a module and not a wiring fault you will need to put the car into a Ford dealer as the modules cannot be replaced without the new ones being programmed.

    • @masterrksv
      @masterrksv 3 роки тому

      Hi Nigel, thanks for your help I really need it. There's no light module in The Titanium model only the X model. The lights are all controlled by the BCM. I plugged Forscan in and done a test it said there was an open circuit on the lhs indicator and rhs indicator. Even through they work fine and I've replaced the bulb. I replaced every single relay. I've done a forscan reset on The BCM this does nothing at all. The same faults come back all the time.
