    First UA-camr I've been able to watch from start to finish which says a lot. You are to the point. Others blab on and on, you are like "this is what I use, this is how you do it". To the point, no fluff. You don't have annoying music playing either! 😂 Love you! You're very talented and your videos are the best of the best!

    I found the cone form at Goodwill for $1 and decided to try this project last year after seeing many of your craft videos. The cones looked great but the spackle was so moist after adding paint to make "chocolate ice cream" that I had a difficult time forming it into a realistic form. Thank you for doing this video and the suggestion of using flour to thicken the spackle. You are a genius and I get so much inspiration from your videos.

I'm having to learn how to create food sets that many times include prop food. (Fake food that withstands the rigors of long days of filming) . I have learned so much from you. WOW! You can always use air dry clay in the molds so as to avoid weight, and put tinfoil inside to fill out. As for chocolate you can use colored pufft paint or colored hot glue sticks. I make it that way so it's light enough to use them as Christmas ornaments

      @kirielu822 4 роки тому

      I tried adding corn starch to a too wet batch of spackle once, and it would sort of firm up while I was mixing but then immediately collapse when I stopped (similar to how when you mix corn starch and water it moves like a fluid when undisturbed but thickens up when in motion). I'm excited to try flour!

    These are adorable! I'm making them for a prop for my daughter's dance competition team. They will be exiting the stage with them in their hands while tap dancing. My question is, should I be using some type of glue (glue on top of the cone to affix the first scoop and then some to affix the second scoop) since they will be "moving" and not just as decor?

    • @thepinktree3490
      @thepinktree3490  Рік тому

      Oh awesome!Yes you can put some white glue on there first and if they ever come off after they are completely dry you can glue them back on with white glue as well:)Have fun!

    i saw a tip with plaster of paris to use an acrylic gesso before painting with your paints. the plaster of paris soaks up all that goodness. I haven't tried it but was checking to see if you had done it in this video and I didn't see it.

    Twice you mentioned putting a lot of flour in the plaster mix to make the ice cream. Is it a mix of flour and plaster?

    • @thepinktree3490
      @thepinktree3490  2 роки тому

      The cone part is made out of plaster of Paris and the ice cream part is made out of light weight spackle which I thicken with flour .Some people thicken it with baby powder or plaster of Paris.And when mixing plaster of Paris to make the cones don’t add flour!

    I watched this twice, thank you for making it. Glad there is no music too! But I can't seem to find out what you used in the piping bag. Is that in a different video? The piping tip is probably the 1M which makes that nice swirl.

    Hi Dawn, thank you for this creative tutorial. It is exactly what I was looking for. Can you please give the measurements (l,w,h) for the cones? Also, what size ice cream scoop did you use?We need them to fit in a holder and need to know they will fit before we order the mold. Thanks so much for your time.

    • @thepinktree3490

      Alicia Schlattmann Hi! The overall mood measures 10.5” in diameter and 3” deep.Each cavity’s diameter is 7.2cm at the top opening and 2.8 cm at the base.The scoop I bought at the dollar store and it’s a tad smaller than your average,you can use any size you want and don’t forget I sanded the top part of my cone!
