To be good communicator just mingling with Filipino spoke Tagalog one or five words need familiarize it than memorize keep relax enjoy listen and try some simple sentence even it is broken Tagalog the more you socialize and not allow them speak to in English even you talk in English their response in Tagalog from it you will familiarize because you initiate to what you want says. Ex. Can we visit to Our friend? The Filipino response in Tagalog you familiarize those words and do it several time. Etcetera. I do see for one year you notice the progress😊
Nelly all Filipinos speaks basic Tagalog. When you go to the north they speak ILOCANO but they can also speak Tagalog same goes with other regions. Try to learn Tagalog and it will make your life more easier for you when you go around the Philippine islands.
Agree.....focus on Tagalog/Pilipino first as it's part of the school curriculum nationwide. I am from Cebu and when I lived in Manila for 12yrs, it took me while to learn the conversational Tagalog. My school mates were amused at my formal Tagalog🤣. I was more comfortable speaking in English....char😜. You'll get the hang of it Nelly when you speak in Tagalog more often😊

I quite agree with you. Yes, there are some or a few Filipinos who were born and raised here in the Philippines most of whom belonged to the so-called "alta sociedad" almost never spoke or understood Filipino at all. Nelly, you know Kulas a Canadian vlogger known as becoming filipino speaks tagalog, bisaya and other dialects because what he did is every town or provinces he goes to he asked the locals how to say this or that and he make notes of it. Also, to begin with for a few weeks hire a teacher online to teach him bisaya and translate it in English and he learns tagalog by asking people around him 😊
Tagalog is not a dying language in my country. The reason is that it is in the curriculum of our schools from primary to secondary, and to tertiary! If you speak 4 of them, that is good. You can add a little more, and off course, since you vlog about the Philippine culture, Tagalog is the right language to learn for you. I am an Ilonggo. I am also a polyglot, I speak Hiligaynon, Bisaya (Cebuano), Waray, Bikol, Masbateño, Ilokano, Zambal, Chabacano, Maranao, Kapampangan, and Pangasinan. I also speak several European and Asian languages. Once, I spoke to both of you in German before but, you did not respond to me. That's why I never tried it anymore. There's no sense in doing so. I just defended the use of our national language in the entire country. What Jessica mentioned had been not proven because I toured the country from north to south. I talked to them in Tagalog and they responded well, as well as, in there native languages! All the vlogs I had reacted to responded , but yours did not. However, as a Filipino I still patronize your vlog because I sympathized with you! Viel Glück und auf viedersehen!
tagalog is the national language, but if you speak tagalog in the provinces they will understand you. Just learn how to speak tagalog even konti lang, eventually you will adapt it. if you learn how to speak tagalog, most of the filipinos will start loving you nelly.
I love Nelly already even though her doesn't speak English. She doesn't need to learn to speak Tagalog/Filipino FLUENTLY, what's important is that she understands the language.. she just probably needs to associate a lot with Filipino friends that will only talk to her strictly in Filipino on a regular basis.
I think for Jessica it's an extra pressure to learn Filipino because more korean vloggers are becoming fluent in the language like Dasuri, Ryan Bang and others. 😁😁
Hi Nelly…that’s why I also like Jessica she’s also included on my top of the lists my fav foreign vloggers ..keep it up Nelly we ll always support you all humble and nice genuine vloggers…thankz…😊
Hi Nelly, Tagalog is the main language of Philippines but we have branches of languages in every province, but we all understand and can speak English. I think for foreigners like you vloggers you should learn to speak Tagalog because you can use that wherever you go in the Philippines because Filipinos can understand that. So we will expect you to learn and speak Tagalog. 😊👍❤️🇵🇭
I need to correct the notion that the primary language of the Philippines is Tagalog. No, it isn't. It is Filipino. But the basis is the Tagalog language since most Filipinos can understand the lingua franca (the primary language in Metro Manila) at various levels of fluency. In the 1930s, when President Manuel Luis Molina Quezon signed Executive Order No. 134, the primary role of the Surian ng Wikang Pambansa (Institute for the National Language) was to study what language in the Philippines will be the basis of the would-be national language and Tagalog was the one chosen since, as I have mentioned earlier, the language that can be understood by people from Aparri to Jolo, although in varying levels of fluency.
Hi Nelly, if you’re really interested to learn Filipino language, I suggest start in Tagalog. In Philippines, its the dialects that are so many not language, because theres only one language, its called Filipino but the technical dialect used is Tagalog, that will be perfectly enough. Its not necessary to learn every dialect in every provinces, but if you do its a bonus. 😊 The key in learning the language is to be “real Interested”, coz many tries, but because the heart doesn’t really have the “wanting” so it will be hard to learn. And don’t worry thinking you’ll sound funny, coz Pinoys will not mind, instead they will find that you sound cute and will admire you more.
Yes please adjust. Whenever we go, we are always the one to adjust first even in our own motherland. Hope foreigners who wants to live in the Philippines will exert an effort to like study the Filipino language regardless if it's just the basic ones. Filipinos are very appreciative, simple gestures is enough.
I was born in the Philippines and i do not even understand my fellow Filipinos who are from the South! So we communicate in English here abroad. This not compulsary..it is your choice if you want to learn Tagalog. God gave us choices and we respect yours! Be happy and I wish you the very best of everything.💌🙏🥂 Watching from Scandinavia.🌏🌈🙏

I am 100% filipino from Cebu, and my son who is 9 speaks fluent in english, but struggle in tagalog. The reason is because in school the language they used is english.
Hi Nelly! Don't feel guilty about not being able to speak Filipino/Tagalog fluently it's totally understandable in your case, you being a foreigner here in our country. I'm sure that you have been trying to learn Filipino for quite a long time and for me that's what's important in learning any language. At least you are eager to learn and speak the Filipino language unlike some Filipinos who were born, raised and have been living here in the country for a long time who sadly, almost never learned and spoke Filipino. I wish you Viel Glück! und Alles Gute! 😄
Still Tagalog or Filipino is the mother of all languages in the Philippines, whether you are Bisaya, Bicolano, Ilocano, Batangueno, Chavacano. So it is always best to learn Tagalog where everyone speaks and understands, rather than focusing on just one dialect.
I love Jessica Lee the Korean lady. She is very nice and is really trying to learn a lot of Filipino languages. She is very unique lady and genuine. She is very patient in trying to experience what most Filipino has to go through just to earn a living. I enjoyed watching her here in Hongkong. If she comes to Hongkong I will cook something Filipino for her. That’s for sure.
Filipino language varies and depends on the province you are staying in like Cebu their dialect is Cebuano,In Ilocos dialect is Ilocano, In Pangasinan dialect is Pangalatoc etc.. But for me Tagalog is the best to learn same as English Tagalog is our national language.
There's a lot of people who is good in languages and it's easy for them to learn. At the same time there's a lot who couldn't and have a hard time learning a new language. So don't feel sorry because you're not the only one.
You are right Nelly, wherever you go atleast you have to learn bits and pieces of their languages. Just like me, I am Filipino and residing in London. Because of the nature of my job, I was able to learn bits and pieces of some languages here. I can speak a little of Greek, Turkish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Russian, etc Don’t get me wrong, I was saying just bits and pieces and people of diversity will appreciate that. If you are really interested to learn, then strive for it. ❤❤❤ Again, thanks for sharing and appreciating Philippines.
Just to clarify things "Filipino" is the person or nationality and "Pilipino" is the language or dialect. Being a Filipino and worked with TV Media, I had been around the Philippines and I can go around speaking "Tagalog" and still being understood simple because Pilipino is a standard subject in school around the Philippines. I beg to disagree that Pilipino is dying because Pilipino tele-serye is very much alive and Original Pilipino Music is also thriving doing good.
Kumusta Nelly,, harinawa Ikaw ay nasa mabuting kalagayan.. Panalangin ko ang iyong kasiyahan sa lahat ng oras.. Ingat at pagpalain ka nawa Ng Diyos🥰 I hope you will be able to understand my message in Filipino😊
Awww Nelly. Even I with my Japanese is pretty bad after a couple decades of learning it initially. It's so hard to focus especially that I have ADHD, hahaha! But yeah, don't be pressured. But I really hope you can meet Jessica some day and do a collab or something. You two look like you'd get along quite well. 🥰
Don't feel bad, Nelly - you both will get there one way or another 😁❣️She didn't do too bad! I think Tagalog is the universal dialect, so I’ll start from there❣️Have fun and stay safe - btw, you look great and very happy, Natalie!
If you show a lot of effort and interest in learning a new language you have to start with basic things. Like what, where, when, which, who and how. Directions like going left, right, up, down, forward, backward, etc. Numbers and order/ranking, days, and food will help also. Write them down to remember things and most importantly how to pronounce them as a local.
It is fine nelly.. I myself a true blooded Filipino only speak "pilipino" (tagalog) nat'l language... just that, and you will be fine, coz all filipinos speak tagalog regardless where region or province... so u wont get confused... just tagalog first and you could pass language barrier...
Nelly when Jessica came to the Philippines, she was 10 years old I believe, but she went to live grew up and studied in Bacolod another Province, they speak another Dialect which is Hilingaynon, completely different from Manila which they speak Tagalog. Philippines has 3 Regions Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, it is a diverse Country with different Provinces and dialects. Tagalog is mainly spoken in Luzon. It is complicated why they make tagalog the national language. There are 8 major dialects, but there are 3 regions and each Islands have variety of dialects and I really don't know how many but some of the words are similar but not really not languages, the Language is Filipino. It is a divisive Country that's why English is the Second Language, they don't understand each other.
Hi Nelly, you may start first with the Tagalog or Filipino dialect since you are living in Manila and it is the national language of Filipinos, you may add one dialect depending on the place that you will be staying longer and be comfortable with to learn. Like for me I speak Tagalog and since my parents are from the Visayas and Mindanao, then I also learned a bit of Cebuano dialect..you don't have to learn all dialects since most Filipinos could still understand English and Tagalog..Enjoy and have fun learning Filipino.
Hi Nelly.. Why not try the tutor of Jessica.. I remember we didn't call Ilonggo, ilocano.. languages but dialects, that's what we learned in school. The national language is called Pilipino or Tagalog. English was called an official language and was the mode of instruction in schools. Tagalog is understood by the educated in the whole country because it was taught in schools. Did you know that Spanish was required in college here before.. Learning a language means learning the culture too, they can't be separated. If you begin to speak Tagalog, expect Filipinos to love you more, and more subscribers :). The 2nd most spoken is Cebuano. Q: What province is the most Tagalog in speech, food and culture? A: Bulacan. Some of their tagalog words are deep or different,
Our national language is Tagalog You can talk to any Filipinos in another parts of the Philippines, even Ilokanos, Kapangpangan, Visayan dialect, so there should be no confusion. Our International Language is English, so there's no problem for that.

Salamat Nelly for this nice video/topic,reaction about our pambansang wika, tagalog or Filipino.
Stay safe and happy, keep on smiling 😃
Hi, Nelly! Thank you for loving our country. We love you too! 😊
Yes more than 120 dialects and languages in the Philippines but Filipino is the national language which is 80% Tagalog and 20% combination of other Filipino dialects like cebuano, hiligaynon, iloko, pangasinan Zoe, etc. Even then other regions like Mt. Province, in Visayas & Mindanao, most people are comfortable at using English to communicate in any setting
WheneverJessica speaks one can’t help but listen to every word. She’s an amazing speaker. Love the way she talks.
True. You can tell she's very conscious of what she says and it shows in her videos.
nice nelly the language, just learn english and tagalog here in the philippines, filipinos will understand that anywhere in the regions. thanks nelly thats great in learnings languages. thank you nelly this is awesome
Guys it’s not how long you have been stayed at to learn but it’s how interested you want to learn any language.
Don't worry Nelly, all Filipinos know Tagalog as our "national language" even we have our own dialects in different regions.
Agree, don't be afraid to learn it, Nelly, so that they won't sell you 😄just kidding!
yeah Nelly, you can start with tagalog, you'll be able to get by with it
Compared to Cebuano tagalog is easier to study. But most Filipinos can speak Cebuano bec Mindanaoans also talk in Cebuano
Filipino is our National language (a mix of all Philippine dialect) not Tagalog.
Hi nelly happy to watch you again its okay to learn tagalog lang po muna since it's so diverse, ingat po lagi and smiles.God bless po
Nelly all Filipinos speaks basic Tagalog. When you go to the north they speak ILOCANO but they can also speak Tagalog same goes with other regions. Try to learn Tagalog and it will make your life more easier for you when you go around the Philippine islands.
thanks for sharing 😊
Agree.....focus on Tagalog/Pilipino first as it's part of the school curriculum nationwide. I am from Cebu and when I lived in Manila for 12yrs, it took me while to learn the conversational Tagalog. My school mates were amused at my formal Tagalog🤣. I was more comfortable speaking in English....char😜. You'll get the hang of it Nelly when you speak in Tagalog more often😊
@@WhatsupPhilippines Nelly, nach 4-1/2 Monate am Bundesscprachenamt in Huerth (in der Naehe vom Bonn) koennte ich Hochdeutsch sprechen. We Pinoys learn foreign languages very quickly, but German -- ay! mas mahirap kaysa Ingles.
Don't worry Nelly, I am also living in Brussels Belgium for 5 years now and I dont know how to speak the language. I can feel you ❤
It’s actually amazing to know Filipinos who can speak Bisaya and fluent in English but can’t speak Tagalog. Not to worry, you’ll pick up and learn. Take Basel for instance (wandering Syrian) and how fluent he is now in Tagalog.
Law of use and disuse. The Filipino subject was the only time I used Filipino as I never watched Filipino tv growing up. Therefore, I speak better English than Tagalog. I can understand it and can figure out even the deep words but dont expect me to translate from English to Tagalog or even write an essay in straight Filipino.
Correction Jessica the filipino language will never die because its a medium in the philippine school especially public . And the everyday life communication. We are just obliged to ourself to learn and speak english for the sake of internationalism objective
I'm actually very impressed with you and Jessica for really trying to learn our language. Most Filipinos nowadays don't have that passion. As you guys have thought, the Filipino language does seem to be a dying language. As a Filipino myself, I feel so bad about it myself.
Siguro ikaw lang yun
I quite agree with you. Yes, there are some or a few Filipinos who were born and raised here in the Philippines most of whom belonged to the so-called "alta sociedad" almost never spoke or understood Filipino at all. You want me to mention names???

Amazing, you’ve been in the Phil. for 9 mos. You always have happy face. From San Diego California
Nelly, you know Kulas a Canadian vlogger known as becoming filipino speaks tagalog, bisaya and other dialects because what he did is every town or provinces he goes to he asked the locals how to say this or that and he make notes of it. Also, to begin with for a few weeks hire a teacher online to teach him bisaya and translate it in English and he learns tagalog by asking people around him 😊
Maybe she doesn't want to make any effort to learn the language :) it's just her.
Its because kulas loves the Philippines! Most foreigner who truly love the PHilipline dedicated to commited to learn the language
Just learn how to speak tagalog even konti lang, eventually you will adapt it. if you learn how to speak tagalog, most of the filipinos will start loving you nelly.
thank you for sharing 😊
@@WhatsupPhilippines tagalog is like english. if you know how to speak tagalog everywhere in the philippines will understand you..
tagalog is not the national language
Tagalog is Just A dialect
Filipino is the National Language
I think you're a foreigner.
You are so alive, so natural and spontaneous, the energy is great. keep up! all the best ;-)
I think for Jessica it's an extra pressure to learn Filipino because more korean vloggers are becoming fluent in the language like Dasuri, Ryan Bang and others. 😁😁
I like Kristy pata a lot..she's fluent in Filipino.
Idagdag nyo pa si Jinho 😂😂😂
Include Hana Cho
Pagkaalam ko si Hana Cho pinakafluent sa kanila.
Pati si Juwonee
@@NoelBarcelona i agree, some people are really messed up. I mean, there is a reason why we have FILIPINO subject in school, and not TAGALOG.
Yeah! I hope you are doing well. Salamat Nelly for sharing your video with Jessica Lee. 🌹💕🇵🇭♥️🏝🎄☮️Take care and stay healthy.
😊
The key in learning the language is to be “real Interested”, coz many tries, but because the heart doesn’t really have the “wanting” so it will be hard to learn. And don’t worry thinking you’ll sound funny, coz Pinoys will not mind, instead they will find that you sound cute and will admire you more.
Correct me if I'm wrong, wala yata tayong Lenguahe na Tagalog, kundi wikang PILIPINO ang Tagalog ay tumutukoy sa Tao hindi sa lenguahe.
Keep safe always nelly we are on your side to support you
Tagalog is our national language and most filipino will understand the language. Looking forward for a vlog where you will speak only tagalog hehehe.. i remember George and Lucy have speak only tagalog vlog hehe.. also a great idea to have a collab vlog with Jessica Lee 😍
Always with "PO" courteous respectful in anyway conversation Filipino language...thats makes us so different and unique...
Tagalog language is not dying, it’s the national language and forever will be
Your Really Gorgeous ❤️ u look so Happy and ur skin is glowing now so happy to see that ❤️❤️❤️ the Aura is so Light and fresh ❤️
NEVER Filipino language will die. Never❤ It is like a river that smoothly and freely flows.
Besides your videos Nelly, I love watching Jessica's videos as well!
Filipino language varies and depends on the province you are staying in like Cebu their dialect is Cebuano,In Ilocos dialect is Ilocano, In Pangasinan dialect is Pangalatoc etc.. But for me Tagalog is the best to learn same as English Tagalog is our national language.
I've been following her for quite a few years. She speaks quite a bit of tagalog. There are a few gaps, but she's not that bad.
It's alright Ms Nelly, as long as you are promoting our country in a positive way.
I love your hair down like this Girl! It's very youthful and showcases your beautiful face better
11:10 Nelly dishing out local words from time to time is just so cute!
"Char!"
Nice to see you blooming again.
its so easy to adopt the language its simple nelly have a relationship with a filipino guy . and the rest will follow .
Kumusta Nelly,, harinawa Ikaw ay nasa mabuting kalagayan.. Panalangin ko ang iyong kasiyahan sa lahat ng oras.. Ingat at pagpalain ka nawa Ng Diyos🥰
I hope you will be able to understand my message in Filipino😊
its a matter of dedication and immersion just like anything else.
New subscriber here. I'm here to support Nelly go Nelly love from Filipino people
Look at Pampanga, it has 3 adjacent provinces with respective 3 different dialects which are Bulacan, Tarlac and Zambales, these
Don't feel bad, Nelly - you both will get there one way or another 😁❣️She didn't do too bad!
Write them down to remember things and most importantly how to pronounce them as a local.
everything can be learn peace by peace, when did arrived here in Manila by the way. I saw the video with, George and Lucy celebrating your birthday
It is fine nelly..
I myself a true blooded Filipino only speak "pilipino" (tagalog) nat'l language... just that,
and you will be fine, coz all filipinos speak tagalog regardless where region or province... so u wont get confused... just tagalog first and you could pass language barrier...
4:22 not an excuse. Most Filipinos understand the Filipino Language regardless of the area. We speak Filipino + our language/dialect.
That's okay Nelly as long as Filipinos can understands you , no problem.
You don't say. I'm Filipino and I only know one dialect. You are far better than most of us. I'm still learning by watching all the TV ads.
LoL!!
Looking forward for more of your videos ate Nelly! 🫰😊 Take care always! God bless!
Im hoping that Nelly and Jessica will meet soon in the Philippines..
No need. My impression of you won't change even if you know Tagalog. Your enthusiasm is what counts more than knowing a particular language
Ilonggo here... Hello from California
It's ok Nellie, you don't have to worry about that.
A: Bulacan. Some of their tagalog words are deep or different,
English is universal . I think Nelly its better you put your Caption to open in multi language so they your follower can able to understand you more.
even we have different languages or dialects we can understand each other by using our natioanal language which is tagalog...
Hi Nelly. Guten abend!! Yeah soooooo many different languages. But just go on learning things little by little. Naimbag nga rabii po.
Don’t sweat it, Nelly! Many of us love you anyway. 😁
I really enjoy watching your vlogs... love it.
Our national language is Tagalog
You can talk to any Filipinos in another parts of the Philippines, even Ilokanos, Kapangpangan, Visayan dialect, so there should be no confusion. Our International Language is English, so there's no problem for that.
Mabuhay,,,,hello beautiful lady nelly,,,,,wow u collab with Jessica lee,,,,,2 foreigner who love philippines,,,,i know u understand little bet of tagalog

you guys are ok , no worries.., actions speak louder than words.. i use my eyes and lips and eyebrows and my smile to communicate. ^-*
Jessica pure tagalog is bulacan, batangas, quezon province and laguna , mindoro
Hi Melly, I've been a sub ever since its early days but unfortunately, I have not watched your videos until lately. Nice!
Practice makes perfect Nelly. If you learn hiligaynon & cebuano which is almost similar, then you can come down here in Mindanao.
