Did you have to cut the firewall? I'm thinking of putting a DT360 in place of a blown 6.4L. I used my '99 as a reference and I measured 45" witch I think is the length of the 360 and it doesn't fit. What did you have to do to get it to fit?
Thanks it has been a long job and we have the radiator in it now and u will have to go with electric fans we are thinking about doing 2 12in and the dt466 turbo will fit I am run a stock turbo now until I get the money for a s300 borgwarner and the injectors they will fit the dt466 is just a bigger bore and longer block
Planning to swap a DT360 into a 1979 Dodge W150 (ironically with a 360 v8) my truck is quite similar to a first gen ram, so the DT360 should fit dimensionally. I'm just worried about fitting the transmission in.
All industrial motors including the cummins is a round bolt pattern sonsimply get a cummins adapter for trans there ya go run the nv4600 problem solved
International dt360 it's none other than a 5.9 Cummins V12 engine very common middle 80s-2006 which to newer 6.7 Cummins V12 -V24 engine school buses delivery trucks that use Cummins and fire trucks and they're different variations of the Cummins engine caterpillar has a Cummins engine even Mercedes uses a Cummins engines in diesel trucks caterpillar 3126 7.2 Cummins engine one of the best sounding engines I've ever heard
Wow. That is wildly incorrect. This is like saying a Ford 302 is the same as a Chevy 305. They're both 5.0 engines right? They aren't even the same displacement, except by rounding. Cummins 6BT is 359 cubic inch with a slightly larger bore and a slightly shorter stroke than the 360 cubic inch DT360. All you need to do is take one look at each of them to realize they share zero parts with each other, and read readily available information to know the differences.

I'm Guessing the F250 came with the 6.Blow originally wich explains the swap, definitely spend less time with the swap than all the repairs needed for a 6.0 that see's any kind of use.

If you could do it all over again would you have gone with the Cummins, dt360 or even an older dt466 ?. Guy next shop over just did a Cummins 8.3 in a 2010 F450. Do you still own the truck today ?

I didn't hav to cut it but I had to take a ball and pin hammer and massage it back and I can fit my hand behind the motor and I can get all my injectors out

I am building a 1971 chevy 3/4 ton 4wd. I built it 10 years ago with a 1998 5.7 vortec and nv4500 but now I want a diesel. there is a salvage yard 2 miles from shop that has three school buses with DT360 . What transmission did you use?
Adapter plate they aren't that different the 7.3L os called the t444e and came in box trucks and flat beds and buses same with the dt360 so they mount up very similar
We have 4000 in he motor flywheel plate and flywheel spacer it took 6 months and we did all the work ourselves and if u hav any more question email me directly at jbarnes1597@yahoo.com
Timothy Howard hp on these are roughly 210-260hp depends on year of the engine some are more some less and torque is around 800 ft pounds at 1400 rpm hope this helps bud
Can be taken to a DT466 with the 466 crank. Even MORE power! Twin turbo, or 3. Advance the timing. My 1066 with a DT466 makes 489 (Something like that, I calculated it back from what it made at 1k pto shaft to flywheel) with NO smoke and a single turbo. They have a LOT of potential.

If you turn up a diesel it idles higher, same thing happens on a 12 valve

Just made new brackets and then made hooked the sensors up to where they were reading and then eliminated the rest of the wires

The reason it is idling high is cause we tightened the governor springs down

Yea Carson staffuer makes an adaptor but don't buy the trans controller because if u go to PCS website and become a dealer and u can get one cheaper

Find a Fuller FSO or an ESO66-7B spicer. Reasonably easy to package. Carson Stauffer makes an adapter to run a Ford patter ZF5 or ZF6.

No it had a 7.3 in it that needed work and if it had the 6.0 in it I wouldve built it

Yes, totally agree. One of my first buses was a 1993 Thomas International, and was equipped with the DT 360 engine.
You are running rich. Do you have an intercooler? Black smoke looks cool but it is incomplete diesel combustion. Just unburnt fuel = money 💰.

The dt360s also came in medium duty international trucks like the 4100s

No, because a Chevrolet truck is not worthy of an IH engine.
There is a company Called Phoenix Casting that makes an SAE to GM adapter.

34486 SCI 466 crank won't fit a 300 series block.
