Hey Marty. My pump just went out. I looked at several videos. Yours were the only directions that I could easily follow step by step. I saw those tools and realized I couldn’t do it cause I didn’t have em until you said Auto Zone rents them for free. I followed it perfect and got my job done in two hours. You saved me Dawg, great instructions. My 07 Hummer’s at 160k. 100k more to go. Thanks.
My 2007 had a lever, locked by flex stops on either side, that allow you to slide the bottom half of the shroud out of the way so you can pull it off with the fan clutch attached.
Then there were also 2 other flex clips that prevented raising it on either side as well. Press them while pulling the top flat/straight hook towards the front and up,
...so that all 3 are cleared. Once those are free you have to work the top left of the shroud towards the motor to clear the top radiator hose tube. At the same time, manipulate it up and leftward to clear the A/C line that is on the right and the two shroud installation guide post holes at the bottom (both shown well in the video). Then it pulls straight up.
