Most underrated band of all time. Mind blown. So tight all these years later. Ground breaking in a way everyone needed. Praise god for these guys. Legit

Living Colour are, and always were superb. It's criminal that they weren't allowed to get more famous. They had the music, the talent, the chops, but the record industry and the gig promoters couldn't deal with an all-afro-american hard rock band. It just didn't fit their way of working back then. Hip-Hop/R&B/House, yes, they got that- Rock? Especially hard Rock? Nahh, that was too much for their tiny brains. Living Colour should be at least as big as Red Hot Chili Peppers. That way, I might actually get a chance to see them over here in Scotland! There, I said it.

WHAT? That's not my perception being in America, living 1.5 hours from Brooklyn NY... Their records were everywhere and MTV loved them. It was the red-neck racist white rock fans who wouldn't buy their records or attend their concerts...

Music industry promotes acts, concert promoters book gigs, that was the way of things then. I'm a white Scotsman, and we didn't give a damn about the skin colour of the musicians. All we cared about was the music, which was some of the best rock we'd ever heard. There are only two types of music; good...or bad. Even some of the bad stuff, you might get to like, given a decent audio system.. :)

Good for you! I've only seen them twice in their 30 year career. And, I can't wait to see them again...

%100 Agree. I saw them at Cyclone Stadium opening for Steel Wheels and nobody had any idea, but had already at the Peony Park Auditorium, and then later at First Ave in Minneapolis several times.
Why do we impose these harsh tarifs on genre-crossers? These are one of the great Hard Rock / Punk banks with additional benefits,

First time hearing this....and O.M.G!!!!!!!!! That was the FUCKIN craziest performance I've ever seen!
Thank you soo much for posting this. I've always loved Living Color and the sounds they produce. They are soo unique that, I have never ever heard a band like this!! It is unfortunate that they parted ways and I'm saddened that a piece of ROCK history in the making had been shut down too early.

Saw them a long time ago in a small venue. 500 people there and maybe five of us were white. But everyone was cool. And the band blew the doors off the place.

Preachy lyrics and experimental songs that were almost unmarketable didn’t destroy the band but had to give labels pause. I saw them in 1990s and it was a lazy show. Musically poor. Vernons twitter feed is a pseudo-intellectual disaster when he strays away from performing arts. The white kids were much kinder to Reid than Ronald Shannon Jackson was. Best guitarist alive. Sink or swim-Racism has nothing to do with it.
