Despite how long it’s been since Truth Seekers came out, it holds its place as possibly still my favorite episode. It has everyone in it. There’s character growth and introspection (literally, both good and bad). The song is great, and the art style switches are so cool. Also, Moxxie in the interrogation scene remains iconic.
Out of all the episodes, this is my top favourite and still is! The animation bump, the inner depth of the characters, Stolas showing us WHY he's a Goetia Prince, future plot set ups! It's crazy!
Before and even after this episode most people just think Stolas is a silly gay bird boy. Many forget he is based on real demonology and as a prince of hell he commands 26 legions and power over the cosmos. He raised the dead agents and made them draw his sigil in blood to summon him to earth.
The way you screamed ‘BLITZØ’ at 23:14 just as I screamed stolas!! I literally doubled back and went ‘wait? Huh, who?’ Honest mistake but you made me double back so fast. Great reaction I look forward to when you get into the more recent episodes!
Fun fact, prince Stolas is "real" demon from an occult book called the lesser key of Solomon. He is among the ruling class of hell, one of the 72 members of the Ars Goetia. The owl demon is known in that source material as being relatively benign for his kind, a purveyor of rare knowledge. In this series, politically he is second only to Lucifer's family, the 7 deadly sins, and his father King Paimon. It's only on the screen for a split second, but the possessed dead agents drew a summoning circle specific to Stolas to bring him over to Earth physically
Love the hallucinations and what they say about the characters. I could go on and on about Blitzø’s vision and what it says about his, from him drowning in the mud to him slipping on the stairs and only getting to the top with the help of the golden shackles. Stolas demon form is insane, and the fight scene is just so much fun. So yeah definitely one of my favorite episodes xD Awesome reaction!
yyyup. That's why I love episode 6. Stolas' entrance is frikin ICONIC. Love the bass drop, the horror of it all (he possessed Agent 2 AND the dead people to draw an array with their own blood)... frikin badass
Blitz's hallucination represents just how messed up his mind is. How dirty he sees himself, all his insecurities, his fears, his self-hatred all mixed into one.
It was so fun seeing you react to this episode. It’s one of my favorites. Both Blitz and Moxxie’s hallucinations took place entirely within their heads, letting us know a lot about them: Moxxie - his hallucination is in the visual style of hand-drawn Disney animations, which you can see by the color saturation as well as the sketch lines deliberately left over the coloring to give the illusion of hand drawing. The musical sequence is a reference to Phantom of the Opera, which is Moxxie’s favorite play as we see many Phantom references throughout the show. Moxxie’s truth is that he’s frustrated with Blitz’s callous ways and all he wants is for them to have an emotionally honest friendship. Moxxie isn’t full of turmoil like Blitz is, he only wants to better understand his friend and be understood in turn. Blitz - the hallucination sequence tells us a lot about Blitz. His mindscape is a muddy, dirty, barren landscape full of caricatures of the people in his life. Blitz in his hallucination is wearing a clown suit; he’s mentioned before that he grew up as a circus performer. On his face, the emblem on his forehead has turned into a broken heart. There’s a teardrop tattoo beside his eye, both to represent his grief over the past (you’ll find out why) and to emphasize that he is a murderer, as a teardrop tattoo by the eye is a common prison tattoo murderers will get with one for each killing. Note that Blitz only has one-there is only one instance in which he felt like a murderer. His hallucinations speak to him in his own voice, mocking him, starting with his feelings of inadequacy in comparison to Moxxie’s intelligence, and followed by Striker and Fizzerolli (the robot we saw in episode 2, Loo Loo Land, who implied the real Fizz has a long history with Blitz) mocking him for not being able to do it all alone. Fizz says, “You tried the solo act, it didn’t work out so well,” both in reference to Blitz’s failed attempt at remaining a clown in his adulthood when he worked at Loo Loo Land and his initial attempt to get his business going without access to the surface. He feels inadequate and ashamed for not being able to do it all himself. Only Stolas has his own voice in Blitz’s hallucination, asking him if he’s afraid to love people and telling him he’s going to die alone. The relationship between Stolas and Blitz is represented by the golden chain-Blitz can only have what he needs once he begins crawling up the steps toward Stolas, the clown outfit and dirt disappearing, but he looks markedly uncomfortable when he’s pulled in close. Moxxie’s line as this is happening is, “You simply can’t fathom proper intimacy but also crave it as well, it’s rather unfortunate, sir.” Note also that when Stolas appears to rescue the crew, he refers to Blitz as “my impish plaything,” implying that Blitz is only a plaything to him, and after the rescue is wrapped up Stolas immediately asks for sex in exchange, to which Blitz complies.
3:40 just the interrupted "and I- oh okay" VeEeEry nasty shock Moxxie, why does your "I can't handle that" alternative turn out to be more _more_ complicated than the first option 4:35 Moxxie smirks at the compliment 5:00 lil hoof taps 5:20 never gets old 5:52 no reaction to the poor coffee guy 9:16 Airier actually comments on truth bomb like... That Blitzø (when the truth bomb started and he went off about Millie) actually wants to and has asked Moxxie to hang out with him And even with his personality seeming blunt, he cared enough to lie to Moxxie about the musical being awful (and the last line about feeding him so many lies - caring about not hurting his feelings? Wild) 16:21 Blitzø jolts a little (at least his face) like he doesn't wanna discuss it 19:15 and then he posted it to his instagram like the day this came out 19:28 I just love the nonverbal imp sounds and behaviors Hissing, growling, (Striker's rattling) 19:40 slither? 20:24 and each moment is so... their fight style (like a bat? Golf?? Amazing) 20:33 the īdo period aa 20:42 badass 23:00 😢 Sir Blitzø's not Satan's impish little plaything, who would prompt him to AAAAA I'M SAD When Blitzø fully rel 24:21 and then revealing through this that 24:38 they did, in fact use the bear traps. And post on their Instagrams ; or at least Stolas posted a selfie of Blitzø patching him up (it's actually kinda tender, or at Stolas' face looks content) I think from either Blitzø or Stolas' side someone posted the horse drawings Blitzø drew on his cast Summoned himself through Two as a demonstration, then us seeing him open the portal home and show that it really was just a demonstration Plus Stolas is a pacifistic demon so it all lined up
Truthseeker's has my favorite fight scenes in all of HB 🤔 The quality of the animation really went up fast. I'm excited to see your reaction to Ozzie's!
And now you know why this is my favorite episode of season 1. The obvious jump in animation, that fucking awesome fight scene, seeing how terrifying Stolas can be, but most of all the insight we get into specifically Blitzø's mind and how he feels about his life. Even he doesn't fully understand until that moment why he pushes those close to him away. He can't comprehend being intimate with anyone in any real meaningful way, but he wants that more than anything. He's afraid to go through life alone, and die alone. There are still a few fun silly episodes, but really from here on out there's a ton of character insights and development, and the show becomes more plot driven. I hope that you are well and truly hooked now. This show is just too good and beautiful and tragic not to be. ❤
the "bad trip" scene is possibly the most important character wise in season 1. it reveals their true inner thoughts and feelings regarding their CURRENT self. which is a very important distinction. for instance, in Blitzø's trip everyone but Moxxie and Stolas have Blitzø's voice meaning that it is his own thoughts and criticisms of himself, And the golden shackles pulling him out of the sh¡t he was in but now he's quite literally trapped as a gilded trophy. (From his point of view.) also the DHORKS are a mixture of "MIB" from Men in Black and "The Crazy 88" from Kill Bill
I always think of the two DHORKS agents as Mulder and Scully from the X-Files, but QoFy's comparison to the Matrix makes a lot of sense too. (And that was a good point about them fighting and dying silently like the Matrix goons.)
Yayyyy! Great reaction! I love this episode so much. At this point, I feel like Stolas' character has finally been pretty well established, and he's my favorite 😁
The show generally gets better as it goes, but there are still some episodes that stand out to me as being significant leaps. Episode 2 was the first one, with its musical number and tasteful handling of a father and daughter's struggling relationship. Episode 5 was the next, with Norman Reedus as a guest star and turning the animation quality up to 11. Episode 6 was the biggest, with the character development, music, animation, fights and horror vibes. Glad you're enjoying.
To this day this episode stands proudly in my top 3. Loved the character development and the introspection we get about Moxxie and expecially Blitzø, it really says how to interpret his character, i’m never tired of finding meanings in his allucination
10:52 probably a different effect on non humans ehhe 12:00 they're talking about that but in their minds it's in a trippy-musical version cause they're hallucinating
Told ya! This episode is just so much fun. And I was really surprised the first time I saw it at how much of a mess Blitz is underneath that confident persona. (Moxxie's hallucination surprised me too; he wants to be friends with Blitz even after all that teasing and bullying.) I wasn't even sure if Blitz _liked_ Stolas or if the sex was just a business deal to him. But there's clearly something there. And Stolas, you silly demon, why didn't you kill the humans and smash the cameras? (Every time when Blitz asks for a phone call and Agent One asks "Who you gonna call?", a small part of me is expecting "Ghostbusters!" This probably means I am old.)
In this season, my favorite episodes are 2,4,6 and 7. This episode went hard on the fighting and the way they were "tripping BAWLS" that musical number made me fall for Moxxie. It showed both perspectives on their feelings towards opening up with those around them. Moxxie loves musicals and has respect for Blitz, his trip was a cakewalk compaired to Blitz. Blitz hates himself, his trip was literal hell for him, he can't wrap his head around people having feelings or even caring about him, especially royaly like Stolas (plus more untold baggage).

Someone actually ordered this somewhere on UA-cam. Said it was really good. Mox knows his coffee.
Calling it coffee is a stretch tho

Omg I can't wait for you to reach the second season, the emotional rollercoaster! 😮
And thus, a brand new Stolas simp was born 😆Welcome to the club
Perfect!!!
This was the first episode in which is visible the advancement in animation
Truthseeker's has my favorite fight scenes in all of HB 🤔 The quality of the animation really went up fast. I'm excited to see your reaction to Ozzie's!
Have to say this was the most popular episode of season 1. But the next one... Whew!!
MORE HELLUVA BOSS!!!❤

Love the disney-like hallucination with Moxxie and the Cuphead animation in Blitz mind eheh
Ohh cuphead
I see people say it's like uhh Pink Floyd - Red Room
Though Fizzarolli was rubber-hose
(And Moxx-- Disney + Phantom of the Opera)
Cuphead? No, Fleischer Studios! Complete with mis-registered Technicolor.
Yayyyy! Great reaction! I love this episode so much. At this point, I feel like Stolas' character has finally been pretty well established, and he's my favorite 😁

Wild🤩‼.. Great episode and reaction😁
Don't feck with stolas when hes angry 🤬😂 in a series about demons its nice to get some possession and some proper demon activity( thanks stolas 💋)
AAAAA it's time
