The Cliffs of Moher are on the west coast of Ireland, and this tune was written to capture the feeling a visitor might experience whilst standing atop them. It is a great traditional standard Irish fiddle jig. If you’d like to play in an Irish fiddle session, you should definitely learn this song. Renowned Irish fiddler Kevin Burke puts his touch on it. This song moves right along, so hold on tight!
The full lesson includes sheet music, multiple instructional videos, A/B video looping, video speed controls, and MP3 audio downloads.

I learnt this tune from a video of Kevin Burke and the late Mícheal O'Domnháill. Never found other version more lyrical and beautiful.

Loved it. I visited that area on September 19th, 2015. My first trip to Ireland. Sat down in the bar of the hotel where we stayed and met some wonderful people. I listened to the 1 man band and just before they closed he sang "Danny Boy" for me. Loved it. Then later met a gentleman who gave us a guided tour of this beautiful Horse ranch and then when we got back to the entrance, he said he was singing that evening at the Concert Hall. My brother said we weren't able to go as we had reservations further down the road. Then he asked him if he would sing Danny Boy for me. Which he did. I stared into his blue eyes and he sang just to me. It was so beautiful, I was in tears.I believe his name was Phillip Scott. The life and songs of John McCormack were to be sung that evening. I have a picture and the advertisement from the paper which I have, " THE IRISH TIMES. I am Irish, Mulhern(fathers last name and his mother was- Bridget Kelly)The are buried in Montello. Wisconsin in the church that they and 5 other couples built and got a priest to come and be the pastor. I was baptized there in 1934. I would love to be able to make another trip to Ireland and see more of your beautiful country. I could go on for hours, but I won't. Hope someone will read this. Merry Christmas to you all. Wish I could write to Phillip Scott.

I've taken some Skype lessons with Kevin. I realized that his variations on a given tune are endless.
