As a black dude named Rashad raised in the city and country. I'm glad to see representation. RVSHVD is extremely talented and I support him all the way. I just hope people don't view him as a "novelty". This isn't new or out of the ordinary. We're human just like everybody else. We like all kinds of music, we like all kinds of food and culture. Keep up the great work though. This is better than a lot of the mainstream stuff coming out nowadays
His music doesn't feel like a novelty act at all, he doesn't carry himself like one either. I am so far from a country expert, but he feels more like real country than the crap I hear on the radio. I'd compare it to a white rapper, there's certainly some who treat it like a novelty and aren't taken seriously, but the ones who understand the culture and have talent are accepted.
im pushing 60, when i was a kid i listened to Charlie Pride on the 8 track my dad had pushed in the dash, i knew he was Black because of the picture on the tape, didn't think much of it many of our neighbors were Black and we were all country as it gets so i didn't realize until i got a bit older that there weren't all that many Black Country artists. we and they all live that Country life cows is cows, barns is barns, tractors is tractors, trucks is trucks , and for Gods Sake dirt roads inspire great songs, no matter who sings em. Charlie Pride wasn't a novelty, he was a pioneer, and this young man is essentially Jason Aldean with melanin, and there aint a damn thing wrong with that.

I live in Canada now and apart from back home in the Caribbean the friendliest and most down to earth people ever met are from the south!!!
