Spanky,
Your interior work is heads& shoulders above much of the "So Called Professional" work I have seen lately.
Superb work & great attention to detail.
Thank you for offering your insight & expertise in doing upholstery work. Being self taught & producing a great product like this just adds to the True Hot rod idea..
Rick
Thanks again Rick for such a nice complement. I always enjoy them. Hope to meet you some day. Thanks so edit your support with our UA-cam channel.
Thank you. The clear for the pattern was something I had not thought of. :)
Awesome job, building a 32 roadster right now, thanks for the info!!!
Now let's see being a poor man and paying somebody $25K to do Interior work or watch Spanky show us how to do it for a fraction of the cost!! It is certainly a no brainer for ME, thanks so very much for showing us how we can do it to. It looks as good as any "Professional" work i have ever seen Spanky!!
Currently working on a more detailed “how I do it” series on upholstery design and building A to Z .(coming soon)
Thanks Robbie for watching and your comments 👍
Beginning to understand how this "upholstery" design/method works. I'm trying to design an interior for a 29 CCPU and believe I would like a seat with 3" pleats and a bolster framing the seat cushion and the seat back. Simple and vintage looking. I would interested in seeing how you attach your cover (top plate) to define the raised/pulled seam areas to create the level definitions. I'm trying to learn how to build/shape/construct the foam to enable a pro to cover the cushions I create. Do you have any videos that show those attachments and how they need to be fabricated??
Yes, not sure how to share them. Check out my upholstery play list on my channel. Thanks for watching and good luck
Great video! I’m working on a 1970 C10 I’m determined to do 100% off everything possible. Making new seats now and your video super helpful!!
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it. Please subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
I really enjoyed your upholstery video. It gave some great tips for someone wanting to give it a go! Keep it up.
@@SpankysHotRodsandCustoms I'm building a 32 Roadster and nothing inexpensive about building. I have most skills except upholstery. Your tricks made sense. Thank you for sharing. That was a lot of good info in one brief video. My wife sees, but never upholstery. We have a small Thompson walking foot machine. Never know until we try....
Well, Spanky's Hot Rods & Customs you got a subscriber! Great video! You had me at "self-taught ". Look forward to more great information videos. I watch a few " car shows" building Rods, it's a shortlist and spanky's is now on the list
Thanks so much for your reply and support. Let me know some of your interest and I’ll touch on that. I love to share with others . Thanks again
Great video with lots of useful information. Is the carpet in the car automotive carpet? I’m looking for something similar in black or grey
Crafty, the carpet came from Bed,Bath and Beyond. Made for a bathroom. I know it’s crazy but I wanted something different. It’s natural and don’t think it came it colors. Keep me posted on your project. Thanks for watching
Great 👍
Nice🔥🔥🔥🔥 Would love to see how you do the door panels.
I will start doing a video on them soon. Thanks again for your support
WOW what a class act ! Would you do my 32 !
How close are you to north Mississippi? Thanks for watching and hope you subscribe
this is extremely helpful. thank you for making this video. I just started teaching myself upholstery. i actually am doing a seat right now and have a weird corner i can figure out how to do. do you have a way i could send you a picture and maybe you could suggest how you would tackle an odd corner panel where the foam is cut differently? thanks
Thanks for watching. I do have other upholstery videos you should check out. I’m also self taught and learning on every project. Send to spankytire@yahoo.com and hope I can help. Thanks for watching and please subscribe
Awesome video!!! How many hours do you think you had in to that car for upholstery?
Can’t remember the hours. It is my personal car and done a little at a time over 3 months. Maybe 100-140
I’m in Massachusetts.
I’m sure you can do it yourself or you can find someone closer but if not I can schedule it in
How comfortable was the seat with the frame you built with the webbing?
It’s great. I’ve driven for 5-6 hours at a time and never felt stiff. Thanks again for your support on the channel.
Would love to help you if you decide to try it yourself. Tip on supplies ect. Would also love to do a joint channel project with you on something.
Awesome 👍 job guys I appreciate all your Tips and video's keep up the great build
Thanks for the compliment and for watching. Please subscribe if you’re not already. 👍
