I think because Zack and Lisa were the two shallowest members of the group, and they needed opposite personality love interests. Like Slater and Jessie being together. Slater was a typical macho jock and Jessie was the overachiever and feminist. Kelly was the sweetheart, good girl, who gets along with everyone so she had to be paired with greedy and scheming Zack. Screech has a massive crush on Lisa but she constantly rebuked him. However, I can't ever picture Screech and Lisa ever being together. However, all the nerds and geeks would have loved it because it would give hopes that a socially awkward male could have a chance with a very beautiful and popular girl. It was unfortunate that they never had a love interest for Lisa. Also a love interest for Screech. Only Zach, Kelly, Slater, and Jessie romantic lives were showcased.
Zach, Screech, and Lisa had known each since since they were in kindergarten. In one episode, Zach said he knew Screech since he was 5 years old while in another episode Lisa said Screech had been chasing after her since nursery school (so they had to be about 5 years old as well). In the episode where Zach was in the hospital, he and Lisa reminisced about the time they well on the ice-skating rink when they were 9 years old (which is elementary school for many). We all know they went to JHS together when the show was previously named Good Morning, Miss Bliss. Basically all 3 of them grew up together, while Slater, Kelly, and Jessie were introduced in the high school years. For much of the SBTB's 4 year run, Zach and Lisa never showed real romantic interest in each other.. but they were very affectionate towards each other, though not in a romantic way. There were episodes that showed Zach kissing Lisa on her cheek while Lisa held Zach's hand in moments of crisis. Zach wasn't this affectionate towards either Kelly or Jessie while Lisa never held Slater or Screech's hand in times of crisis. My opinion on this is that like in real life, most romantic relationships often start in the high school years. Therefore.. Zach and Lisa were more like childhood friends where as Kelly was the first crush because like in real life, he met Kelly in High School the time when boys begin to show romantic interest. In an episode, Zach admitted that Kelly was his first love. The senior year was a mess because Jessie and Kelly abruptly left the show.. this ruin the whole storyline.

Didn't that jock guy always sport a mullet? Dude, it's '91. Even Bon Jovi knew when the moment was over. It's like watching wrestling in the '90s. Again, 10 years behind the times until about '97.

I don’t think she is ignoring the fact how Zack and Kelly are endgame but she personally thinks that Zack and Lisa should’ve been endgame (which is based off of opinion. In 1-800-Crushed they both are wearing an assortment of blue and other blended colors; Palm Springs, she is wearing navy blue with white polka dots, her hat has a red with white polka dots ribbon on it and a red with white polka dots heart shaped earrings that matches his light red shirt and navy blue slacks. Also, if you re-watch the opening of Palm Springs, you can clearly see when Zack crosses Lisa, he touches her shoulders then his hand went straight down her back. The Malibu episodes, particularly My Boyfriend's Back, where you can see how he interacts with her when she asked him if he had a sponsor for the race and after they somewhat kissed each other on the cheek and hugged (look at the way he slides his hands down her arms). Also, Zack's birthday episode, when Jessie brought out Zack's birthday cake, Lisa is standing right next to him and she is the one he is looking at (not Kelly). The two stares at each other when she asked him did he make a wish and before Mr. Curossi interrupted. The Rockumentary episode when they won an award and he randomly kissed her and not Kelly. Mystery Weekend Zack being in close proximity to Lisa to clasp her hands when Screech told her she could have died if that thing would have cut her. Also, check how long Zack held her hand or the glaring looks between the two upstairs and the hug between them. I can go on and on and provide more episodes even from Good Morning Miss Bliss time with Lisa and Zack before there was a Zack and Kelly. But you have to want to take an objective look without blinders at each episodes where they are interacting to see how strong their chemistry was and why many, in hindsight, now believe the two should've been endgame.
And just to add, In the Las Vegas Wedding movie, Zack supposed to be marrying Kelly but yet he took two secret glances at Lisa. The first was in the pool after they finished the pool ball game. The second was when they were waiting for Kelly and her dad to walk down the aisle, Zack took a quick glance at Lisa before steering his eyes on the bride to be. There was another scene after the wedding when everyone's leaving, Lisa says "I love you guys" and Zack says "I love you," while clinging onto her and his face in her hair as he kissed her.

There is just something different about Zack and Lisa and I believed that someone working on the set as a director, producer, and even writer had to know that because it’s very interesting how much development between these two over the years, leading up to the bayside triangle. It was like it was supposed to happen, but at the right time because if you can see, their relationship was slowly developing (something I really love about them) into a more deeper, connected relationship. I saw this blog analyzing the bayside triangle and this person had talked about how Zack and Lisa, and I quote, “But the pair (Zack and Lisa) signified so much that the anchor couples of the show did not.” Which is sooooo true. Another quote also states, “They’re the most naturally magnetic couple to come out of Sbtb canon.” Also if you look closely to the bayside triangle where Zack and Lisa were sharing their feelings, Zack said something along the lines like “This is weird, I’ve never planned for this to happen, Lisa.” And “I don’t know what’s happening between us Lisa but it feels good inside.” I’ve heard these sayings many MANY times before realizing the deeper meaning to it. The conclusion I’ve got from this was that of all the girls that Zack had dated, kissed, liked, looked at, etc, he always had a plan on getting with them throughout the show. But with Lisa and YES LISA was the only and I mean ONLY one who he never had a plan with getting with her, meaning that it just happened like that was their fate to like be together and that’s what makes her different from the other girls. That’s what makes her, by herself stand out from the other girls, showing how different and real and perfect their relationship was. In my opinion I feel like that statement alone justifies their relationship and them being the actual endgame. I know it would be a very unpopular opinion amongst the Zack and Kelly fans but I call it as I see it and I have looked very deep and close into this show to know. Another scene that also shows the dynamics between their relationship and that explores deeper into it was the Operation Zack episode where Zack only shared his deep and troubling fear with Lisa because he really trust her and they were sharing a really intimate moment. Lisa was there by his side even though she was a help there but still she not only prayed for him but took the extra mile step and had gotten up early, dressed in a nurse’s uniform, ready to go to surgery with Zack and be by his side. After when Zack was in bed with the cast and had gotten a basketball, he was automatically thinking about Lisa and when she came in, they were both just looking at each other stupidly and they were still having a moment while Kelly was behind him, her hands on his shoulders and the rest of the gang in the background just watching them. They really were sharing feelings throughout that episode. Also did u catch the part where they were talking about their childhood and Zack said how they were together but in a way like they were together together and not like when they were kids. I thought that was something interesting that the writers decided to write. And then you can see him smile while looking at her in love and he said yeah. This was after she said oh to his statement and then looking down. Plus their hands were touching twice and the second time Zack held out his hand for her to hold before getting surgery and you can see him smiling at her and her doing the same. Ok so one last thing I would like to add and forgive me for typing to much but I have A LOT to say about them. In the first tori episode where there was a fall dance and Zack and Lisa were dancing with each other, Zack had to leave to talk with tori after Lisa told him that she was just trying to be nice to him, you can see when Zack was trying to leave, it looked like he didn’t want to let go of her hand and even slid slowly his hand away and when he finally had left, you can see her dazing at him. But anyways to conclude Zack and Lisa are the true endgame in our hearts and that’s on period. P.s- The part where you said how they were matching in some episodes, one of the episodes where they matched was in cut day, u can see them wearing a light jean, denim jacket and light jean denim jeans. Coincidence? I thought that was really cute how they were matching tho.

There is just something different about Zack and Lisa and I believed that someone working on the set as a director, producer, and even writer had to know that because it’s very interesting how much development between these two over the years, leading up to the bayside triangle. It was like it was supposed to happen, but at the right time because if you can see, their relationship was slowly developing (something I really love about them) into a more deeper, connected relationship. I saw this blog analyzing the bayside triangle and this person had talked about how Zack and Lisa, and I quote, “But the pair (Zack and Lisa) signified so much that the anchor couples of the show did not.” Which is sooooo true. Another quote also states, “They’re the most naturally magnetic couple to come out of Sbtb canon.”
Also if you look closely to the bayside triangle where Zack and Lisa were sharing their feelings, Zack said something along the lines like “This is weird, I’ve never planned for this to happen, Lisa.” And “I don’t know what’s happening between us Lisa but it feels good inside.” I’ve heard these sayings many MANY times before realizing the deeper meaning to it. The conclusion I’ve got from this was that of all the girls that Zack had dated, kissed, liked, looked at, etc, he always had a plan on getting with them throughout the show. But with Lisa and YES LISA was the only and I mean ONLY one who he never had a plan with getting with her, meaning that it just happened like that was their fate to like be together and that’s what makes her different from the other girls. That’s what makes her, by herself stand out from the other girls, showing how different and real and perfect their relationship was. In my opinion I feel like that statement alone justifies their relationship and them being the actual endgame. I know it would be a very unpopular opinion amongst the Zack and Kelly fans but I call it as I see it and I have looked very deep and close into this show to know.
Another scene that also shows the dynamics between their relationship and that explores deeper into it was the Operation Zack episode where Zack only shared his deep and troubling fear with Lisa because he really trust her and they were sharing a really intimate moment. Lisa was there by his side even though she was a help there but still she not only prayed for him but took the extra mile step and had gotten up early, dressed in a nurse’s uniform, ready to go to surgery with Zack and be by his side. After when Zack was in bed with the cast and had gotten a basketball, he was automatically thinking about Lisa and when she came in, they were both just looking at each other stupidly and they were still having a moment while Kelly was behind him, her hands on his shoulders and the rest of the gang in the background just watching them. They really were sharing feelings throughout that episode.
Also did u catch the part where they were talking about their childhood and Zack said how they were together but in a way like they were together together and not like when they were kids. I thought that was something interesting that the writers decided to write. And then you can see him smile while looking at her in love and he said yeah. This was after she said oh to his statement and then looking down.
Plus their hands were touching twice and the second time Zack held out his hand for her to hold before getting surgery and you can see him smiling at her and her doing the same.
Ok so one last thing I would like to add and forgive me for typing to much but I have A LOT to say about them.
In the first tori episode where there was a fall dance and Zack and Lisa were dancing with each other, Zack had to leave to talk with tori after Lisa told him that she was just trying to be nice to him, you can see when Zack was trying to leave, it looked like he didn’t want to let go of her hand and even slid slowly his hand away and when he finally had left, you can see her dazing at him. But anyways to conclude Zack and Lisa are the true endgame in our hearts and that’s on period.
P.s- The part where you said how they were matching in some episodes, one of the episodes where they matched was in cut day, u can see them wearing a light jean, denim jacket and light jean denim jeans. Coincidence? I thought that was really cute how they were matching tho.
