speaking of silicones im lowkey a fan of silicones in my hair products specifically my conditioners. people want all paraben, sulfate, and silicone free - well im down for some sulfates in my shampoo & for some silicones in my conditioner honestly. i like how sulfates get sudsy, and they aren't hurting anything - they just came for some sudsiness. and i like silicones in my conditioners because it coats my hair and makes it silky af - it doesn't hurt the hair shaft & it protects the hair from natural damages and heat. but the main reason is it makes my hair silky af.
Idk if you’ve already done a video on this but if not, can you please make a video about your experience becoming a dermatologist? I really want to be one because your job seems so interesting!
You didn't go to a good one... I've had incredible results. Change doctors till you find a good one. You're the one paying for insurance, so look till you find what you need and the quality services and results that you need them to.
Dr. Dray the other day I was talking to my husband about all the information I've gathered from your videos and he asked me "honey, would you rather be a dermatologist instead?" Lol 😂 anyways I am now passing down all the tips I get from you to the rest of the family. It makes me so happy that my family is now applying sunscreen and using unscented soaps 😁😁 Also sending lot of love to your mom and Tybee 💞
I improved a lot my skin texture after I started with hyaluronic acid, moisturizer, and retinol. I followed your tip about keeping the routine simple and bought cerave moisturizer. So today I use the hyaluronic, biossance probiotic moisturizer and cerave moisturizer. And on top of moisturizer retinol 2x week. My skin improved so much, I think it's much more related to frequency than the product itself. I am also paying more attention to my skin reaction: for example let's say that a pimple appeared and it's the big and inflamed one: I start to do tests on my alimentation, water that I am consuming (usually I don't drink much so I increase the frequency), products that I used in the past week that could make this happen. I also followed your tip about Korean / Japanese sunscreen, I usually have some reaction on eyes because of some product on regular sunscreen, and now I can use sunscreen finally (I swear it was so terrible that I used to buy makeup with sunscreen because my eyes with regular sunscreen get so watery, that looks like I cried the whole day, and I am not joking...I always suffered from this, but with Japanese and Korean ones I don't get problems anymore). Another tip that I included in my routine is patience (the most difficult one) because we want to test, we want to test a lot, we want to mix, and patience gave me some improvements. For example, I do now a plan and it does not matter the decision, I should not mix something before I see the results of the current products. For example, I started retinol but my skin is sensitive, and I love to use glycolic acid, but, even that my anxiety says Paula, try both, I say to myself: NO. Let's see first for some weeks, and then I include it slowly. Cannot do any include before two weeks in a past plan. It was my way to try things and with this now I can recognize what was the problem if I get some reaction.
Oh I use Sio Facelft and I love it. It has helped me with texture and it has also helped my neck. I can't do Botox...I had a terrible reaction to it, so all the things I use topically for texture are so crucial to me. Snail therapy for me has been a game changer and I thank you for receiving that! Your skin has never looked better! Gee wiz! Stay safe, Love form me and Desi ( too much exfoliation ruined my skin and aged me)
But Dr. Drey, what about my “texture skin” definition. I dnt have any skin condition, like rosacea, I dnt break out, I have no hyperpigmentation, at least not noticeable, and I have barely noticeable pores. However, there’s something about my skin that it doesn’t look uniform. It is smooth to the touch, but it doesn’t look the smooth it is. I dont know how to explain. I saw a dermatology nurse practitioner, and asked her for tretinoin, and she prescribed tretinoin.025. It did helped me with pores, but I am not content, I need something more, maybe thickness of my skin, I’m not even sure. But I’m def. missing something!
Ugh I think I know what you mean...it's like the skin around my eyes looks perfectly smooth but not the rest of my face. I want to know if there is a way to get all of my skin to look like that around my eyes or if that's a lost cause because of my pores 😓
@@kaalad3666 it’s like the texture beneath my epidermis. If I could only get a deep peeling to get rid my actual epidermis and reveal that beautiful, glow taking I dream of day and night. Although, my skin has improved even more with tretinoin and Korean 10 step skin care routine, still I am NOT satisfied
I'm loving your advice. I tried the shampoo just your scalp tip and just let the shampoo make its way to the ends as you rinse and my hair came out so bouncy and not frizzy. I would have never ever thought to just suds the scalp. I always put, probably way too much shampoo in and scrubbed all the hair! Thank you!!
First off, you’re glowing and looking so hydrated! Totally buying those patches, I have never been disappointed by any recommendation of yours. I’m 25 and so excited to try out the neck one especially since I am a digital marketer working from home. Hoping to help out that tech-neck!
I've been alternating a tretinoin 0.025 and Paula's choice salicylic lotion, every other night. I have had no irritation, but I had been using the tret for about 8 months before doing this. So skin had acclimatised. I'm seeing great results. 👍🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for the great info, Dr. Dray! I would love on video on how to hydrate skin in a very dry climate as I am confused about whether to use HA and other humectants :)
Hi Doctor Dray! I've been using vanicream spf 35 every day and have noticed its helped lighten leftover acne discoloration, minimize new cysts on my cheeks/jawline, and has even made the texture of my face feel so much better. I wasn't expecting it to be more than a sunscreen. I know zinc can be a helpful ingredient for acne but any info on why this is working so well vs over the counter medication? ie, I've tried minocycline, spironolactone... panoxyl, salicylic acid, onexton, etc.
Do you have any recommendations for “enlarged pores” (raised bumps that have an open pore, maybe there is another name for them)? I’m currently on a prescription retinoid...will that help to diminish the enlarged pores? Thanks, I love you and all your content!!
Yes, retinoids help, also try adding in a niacinamide serum or moistuizer, and maybe a weekly or bi-weekly salicylic acid treatment used in the morning. (Do not use salicylic acid and retinoids at the same time)
You look so amazing! Btw because of you I use retin A in the cream form, I use sunscreen and save lots of money expensive products because I don't buy them 😁
I love your videos 🤗 I would love to hear your opinions on more products from the ordinary as for formulations, etc. Also if chemical sunscreens can contribute to acne? The one from neutrogena contains a lot of denatured alcohol but I'm not sure if that's a normal ingredient for sunscreen.
A: Dr Dray has many videos on TO products, chemical sunscreens, and alcohol in skin care, which are easy to find with the UA-cam search bar or perusing her channel playlists.
When you say to apply those patches to "clean, dry skin"--does that mean clean, moisturized skin? Or clean skin with absolutely no products used after cleansing? Same for the under eye patches everyone's loving these days... I find those instructions really unclear!
My question too! She suggests we wash and then immediately moisturize while skin is slightly moist which makes so much sense. So I wonder too, she says clean-dry, do we put anything on the skin? Would hyaluronic acid be good? Just regular moisturizer? Maybe she will see this and answer if enough people have the same question!
I think we do our regular skincare and after the Tret dries then we apply this. She probably would've told us different if it wasn't good to combine. Just my thoughts.
Skin with products on it will cause the silicone patch to not adhere properly. That said, I do my regular routine and then apply the eye patch as a physical occlusive, if you will, to enhance product penetration and absorption. As you move around, the patch may start to slide off place, but it's just a matter of readjusting it.
Hello Dr Dray! Are you planning to review Ceraves SA Moisturizer? It completely transformed my skin but has alcohol in it. I'm not sure if I should continue using it but the results at least look fantastic.
The SiO face patches seem really nice, but they say not to moisturize your face before application (probably so the patch can adhere better). Are you supposed to moisturize, after putting on the patches, to areas the patches don't cover?
You have such a nice colour to your skin today, as if you’re wearing makeup. Thank you for taking the time to keep us informed and entertained, Dr. Dray! ❤️ Quick question: can fermented ingredients cause texture or breakouts?
I think I just developed keratosis Pilaris on the right side of my face. 6wks ago got a bad head cold and my whole face got dry and flaky. I’ve always had smooth skin. After feeling better I had my coworker dermaplane me. My left side is smooth and normal, right side is rough like sandpaper! It’s driving me crazy!
I’m a little bit confused: when do I apply my moisturizer when using this patches? Dr. Dray said to apply them to clean dry skin, so should I go with the moisturizer after I take the patches off or wait for the moisturizer to dry and then put the patches on?
I just visited their IG page. It says to cleanse and dry the skin WELL on the area you plan to use them. So you definitely do not apply on top of any kind of skin care. This will break down the patch quicker. Once you remove the patch then you're advised to moisturize.
Sooo if I have to wait on my skin to DRY, this goes against Dr Dray's recommendation to apply moisturizer on damp skin ( I have been doing this and love the results). Adding this will only contradict and complicate my skincare routine.
I am taking advantage of the stay at home and restarting tretinoin, my skin is dry but I don’t have to see anyone! I used to have bad texture but it was because I was irritating my face with fragranced products and exfoliants, once I stopped using all that crap my texture is gone. My skin only gets bumpy when I flush now.
Hi Dr Dray, fantastic video! My 5 year old has been suffering from KP on his face for a year now. I've just been washing his face with water and a soft wash cloth followed by cereve cream. It's not getting worse but it's not getting better either, do you have any other recommendations? X
Any chance you can do an updated video on skin texture, Dr. Dray? I have mostly dry skin and sometimes forget to wash my face so I know those two things are contributing. Whenever I put foundation on (which is rare), it looks cakey and spongey in spots, mostly cheeks near my ears and my forehead and jaw line.
My husband just went to the dermotolgist for a spot he was worried about so they are still seeing people here in SC . It ended up ok know worries. Thank u for the video Dr Dray, very helpful 😘
Thank-you as always 💜 Do you have any recommendations for an alternative to salicylic acid? I've become allergic to aspirin (all NSAIDS) and have been told to discontinue use of it, which is such a shame because it did wonders for my oily skin.
Happy Wednesday, Dr Dray! The patches look interesting. I've never heard of them before. As always, thanks so much for the valuable information. I hope you have a wonderful evening. 💞
Hi!! Does anyone know the difference between the “CeraVe SA cleanser” sold here in Canada and the ”CeraVe Renewing SA cleanser “ sold in the states? The ingredients look a bit different and I’m not sure how they compare and if the “SA cleanser” is worth buying here in Canada or not. Please help!! I have sensitive, acne prone combination skin and I’m curious because the SA line here is being marketed towards dryer skin?
My dermatologist says it is. It is skin damage. Mine especially showed up on the left side- driver side window damage! My cosmetic surgeon had his esthetician lighten/remove with BBL laser - miracle machine! ( used cosmetic surgeon for droopy eyelid surgery - he is is an oucloplastic specialist and wonderful wonderful)
Karon Crickmore Mine around the left side but also right underneath my eyes, like freckles. Does the BBL laser lighten them? Does it scale and flake? Any scarring?
T P I had no scarring, flaking, nada. A little pink the first day but I always did mine after work so by morning there was nothing. I had 3 treatments and it cover all the little spots and she actually did one deeper color spot on my chest - gone!
it’s so weird that i’ve acne prone, oily, and sensitive skin but SA breaks me out... glycolic acid works better for me lol... but tretinoin works best for me and i love it lol
Man, Dr. D, your skin is positively glowing!!! I am so jealous.Although i am 56 so i have spots now. I used to have skin like yours in my younger days.
Well the biggest one that helped was my dermatologist prescribed me accutane... It's mainly for acne but can treat rocsesa too... She did prescribed me 4 or 5 topical/ oral creams and pills before hand. But they didn't work... Which is why she said accutane and if that doesn't work she's gonna have to take a tiny piece of my skin and send it to the lab.. So on top of the accutane My products are CeraaVe ultra hydrating cleanser Laroche posay moisturizer/ sunscreen ceraVe ultra moisturizing creme Netrogena Hyloronic acid water gel It also helps to wash with Luke warm water/ cold water And stay out of sunlight Get rid of any skin products that are to harsh for your skin!! And see a dermatologist!! That is key!!

Helpful video. Sleep is totally the best advice and I love that you mentioned it. I’m going to check out those smoothing pads. If I’m using vitamin A do I still need AHA or lactic acid to help smooth? If so, do I use these things on alternate days?
Dr Dray what do you think about Betaine Salycilate? I heard that is a gentler form of SA. Is it actually still effective ?
speaking of silicones im lowkey a fan of silicones in my hair products specifically my conditioners. people want all paraben, sulfate, and silicone free - well im down for some sulfates in my shampoo & for some silicones in my conditioner honestly. i like how sulfates get sudsy, and they aren't hurting anything - they just came for some sudsiness. and i like silicones in my conditioners because it coats my hair and makes it silky af - it doesn't hurt the hair shaft & it protects the hair from natural damages and heat. but the main reason is it makes my hair silky af.
How is your mom doing? We miss her and tybee! ❤️🙏
Idk if you’ve already done a video on this but if not, can you please make a video about your experience becoming a dermatologist? I really want to be one because your job seems so interesting!
dermatologist have done nothing for me for 30 years. Jus collect my insurance money
You kept going for 30 years??😆
Must have gotten something out of it.
You didn't go to a good one... I've had incredible results. Change doctors till you find a good one. You're the one paying for insurance, so look till you find what you need and the quality services and results that you need them to.
YOUR EYELASHES! I don't know if you're wearing anything else on your face but you are glowing, thank you for the tips!
Esteph Alba Same here 😂 I’m interested in becoming a dermatologist
Dr. Dray, your skin has been looking so glowly lately!! I love it!!
Thanks for the reminder of things that we should be doing daily, even though we're inside. I have got to try those patches!
As a lip buffer and gentle exfoliating, I often mix powdered milk with a cleanser, oil etc.
Do you mind me asking what brand of hyaluronic acid and brand of retinol do you use please ? 😍 thank you
Do you mind me asking what brand of hyaluronic acid and brand of retinol do you use please ? 😍 thank you
you look so radiantly beautiful today !! Loving your take on this topic
Would silicone scar sheets work the same way as the ones designed to prevent wrinkles?
Oh I use Sio Facelft and I love it. It has helped me with texture and it has also helped my neck. I can't do Botox...I had a terrible reaction to it, so all the things I use topically for texture are so crucial to me. Snail therapy for me has been a game changer and I thank you for receiving that! Your skin has never looked better! Gee wiz! Stay safe, Love form me and Desi ( too much exfoliation ruined my skin and aged me)
Do you think the patches would help with existing frown lines between eyebrows? They are moderate. Thx
It did helped me with pores, but I am not content, I need something more, maybe thickness
of my skin, I’m not even sure.
You are absolutely glowing, Dr. Dray! I am thinking about trying the Paulas Choice AHA gel for my dry, congested skin.
I've got pretty resilient, super oily skin, but I always react badly to salicylic acid (I think I'm actually allergic). Quite a bummer.

Emmy Sikorski: Type “dr dray pores” in the UA-cam search bar to find a number of videos on this topic.
She's done a video on this very topic in the past.
I think you may be talking about sebaceous hyperplasia. She has a video on it!
I love you started editing your videos. It’s so much more easier to track
I would love to watch a video explaining how to get legs looking ready for short season.
Jacqueline Wethor Wearing a tinted moisturizer works for me!
Hello Dr. Dray! Thank you for the video! When should I apply the sunscreen? Before or After
the moisturizer cream? Thank you very much!
after your moisturizer is best!
You look so amazing!
Btw because of you I use retin A in the cream form, I use sunscreen and save lots of money expensive products because I don't buy them 😁
Do I need to use other exfoliants and niacinamide if I already use topical vitamin A ???
You've really inspired me to be a dermatologist but I'm already over 30 😅 I love it when you say brag about 8 hrs sleep a day and make it a goal lol
Question: Do you recommend SIO serums?
I just clicked play and I KNOW your tips will be SO USEFUL! Thanks Dr. Dray, stay safe!
Clean moisturized skin. The “dry” means not wet or no water on the skin - not “dry skin” dry skin 🙏💓
Skin with products on it will cause the silicone patch to not adhere properly. That said, I do my regular routine and then apply the eye patch as a physical occlusive, if you will, to enhance product penetration and absorption. As you move around, the patch may start to slide off place, but it's just a matter of readjusting it.
I’ve used patches and I apply to clean dry skin. Nothing else
Hello Dr Dray! Are you planning to review Ceraves SA Moisturizer? It completely transformed my skin but has alcohol in it. I'm not sure if I should continue using it but the results at least look fantastic.
@@pinks884 yes!
The SiO face patches seem really nice, but they say not to moisturize your face before application (probably so the patch can adhere better). Are you supposed to moisturize, after putting on the patches, to areas the patches don't cover?

Love your videos! Very helpful! Question:....How do you feel about using Noxema to wash your face?
You have such a nice colour to your skin today, as if you’re wearing makeup. Thank you for taking the time to keep us informed and entertained, Dr. Dray! ❤️
Quick question: can fermented ingredients cause texture or breakouts?
Yes they can
I think I just developed keratosis Pilaris on the right side of my face.
I think moisturize after
Seems like you'd want to apply moisturizer directly after using these. I was hoping she would have mentioned this too.
4:05 after cleansing. I am guessing no moisturizer🤷
I also tend to grimace when reading work emails 😂
I LOVE YOU! Thanks to you i CLEARED my skin! I'm so so happy! Been struggling with it my whole life. Lots of love from NYC!
Hi Dr Dray, fantastic video! My 5 year old has been suffering from KP on his face for a year now. I've just been washing his face with water and a soft wash cloth followed by cereve cream. It's not getting worse but it's not getting better either, do you have any other recommendations? X
Samaya Toma: Dr Dray has many videos on KP. To easily find them, type “dr dray keratosis pilaris” in the UA-cam search bar. 👏 😊
Hi dr dray! Hope you are staying safe(and your mommy) have a good day❤
Hi Dr. Dray. What do you recommend for people with sensitive skin? Particularly vitamin A
My husband just went to the dermotolgist for a spot he was worried about so they are still seeing people here in SC .
what are you opinions on Olays new serums? Would you recommend those?
The sunscreen and retin-a are working wonders for you Dr Dray, your skin is glowing!
Dr. Dray, I am over 50 and I have started to notice more brown spots on my medium skin tone. Is this due to skin not protected when young?
I'm not sure if this is the latest and greatest tx for the spots but I had mine removed with cryotherapy in a can. Lol
@@debdubois3636 me too, but it left scars 😣
Have you reviewed the Differin oil free spf 30 moisturizer? It's the only spf that works well for me.
it’s so weird that i’ve acne prone, oily, and sensitive skin but SA breaks me out... glycolic acid works better for me lol... but tretinoin works best for me and i love it lol
I’m the exact same! I respond very well to glycolic acid and BP, but not SA. I’ve never tried tretnoin or any prescription skin care.
What Tretinoin do you use?
SA works for me but I would say that glycolic mixed with SA work really well in a cleanser.
How do you implement in your routine? After cleansing or moisturizing?
Man, Dr. D, your skin is positively glowing!!! I am so jealous.Although i am 56 so i have spots now. I used to have skin like yours in my younger days.
I took care of the major bumps due to rosacea by seeing my dermatologist... now my focus is keeping my skin smooth , glowing, and healthy!!
That’s great! If you don’t mind which products did you use to help with your rosacea? Thanks :)
So on top of the accutane
My products are
CeraaVe ultra hydrating cleanser
Laroche posay moisturizer/ sunscreen
ceraVe ultra moisturizing creme
Netrogena Hyloronic acid water gel
It also helps to wash with Luke warm water/ cold water
And stay out of sunlight
Get rid of any skin products that are to harsh for your skin!!
And see a dermatologist!! That is key!!
Hi dr Dray, thank you for another video with good and helpful information ☺️ I tried to purchase the patches but the discount code of 20% you provide is not working , it says it’s not valid 😐
I used DRAY20, it worked
I just love your videos so much. I was looking for videos on UA-cam and yours just always get straight to the point. I appreciate the way you put your content together

Does niacinimide help with "orange peel skin" - large pores and mild scarring? I hear some people should avoid niacinimide- do you agree? Thank you so much!
I was wondering this too, especially for niacinamide from The Ordinary. I heard some people had a bad reactioj
lethopefloat I would use it. I've never heard anything bad about niacinimide
She has a whole video talking about Niacinamide. Check it out if you wanna know more about it 😊
i actually have the ordinary niacinimide serum!! i have mild scarring and it works great for me and my pores have definitely been less noticeable i’ve been using it for a couple months
Thank you everyone for the replies! I did watch her video on niacinimide, but I don't recall her saying anything about people who should avoid the ingredient... I hear such conflicting things online. I have heard there are some people that should not use that ingredient or that breaks them out that. I would love to hear her response!
wow, you are looking fantastic, so healthy and glowing. love your videos and the in-depth information you share. thank you for all the time you invest in making these amazing videos.

Can these patches be used over my Tretinoin at night please 🙏
Great question!
Yes and she Mansions Retin-A, so I’m wondering when and how this fits into the patch wear routine
The websites says to wash and dry face ! Nothing on it ! Because it will interfere with the tackiness if the sio patch !
Hi,i love your videos! Is E45 a good moisturizer for dry skin?
Hey Dr.Dray! Love your informative videos, they have helped me so much!
You’re looking really wonderful. Congratulations on what you’re doing.
