The Province of Cienfuegos is located in the south center of Cuba, the city is known as The Pearl of the South or the Beautiful City of the Sea. It has a population of 177,113 inhabitants.
Cienfuegos owes its origin to the interest of the Spanish imperial authorities in developing new cities on the island. It was founded on April 22, 1819 by French settlers under the command of Luis De Clouet.
In the video I explain that his name is due to a fire because it was the information I read in Google sources, but coincidentally today I read something different on another website that says that his name is in honor of the captain general of the island of Cuba José Cienfuegos Jovellanos.
