We had our first child (little boy) two months ago - a strong recommend for the shift-system, it's saved both our sanities. It's a shame you've had a bad experience of NCT, we did their antenatal course and have nothing but praise for it - one of the other couples was going the formula route and there was no preaching whatsoever! If anything it was good to meet people also mildly shitting themselves.

Forget about getting outfits and nice clothes for the baby, they sh*t 6 times a day. only put them in baby grows because nappies leak.
And in 12-18 months time your other half will want a brother or sister for your child, when that happens get her a puppy
It'll be surreal to start... then you won't be able to imagine life without her. You'll have broken sleep, but you'll wake up then get up exhausted (ikely swearing) to pick her up every time. Remember that you and mum are her entire world. After two boys I thank the Celestial Teapot that they've both finally started sleeping within some semblance of normaility in the last couple of weeks! Good luck mate and I'm so happy for you and Ree! P.S. I'm the very proud father of Nate (4) and Reid (16 months) who've already had grease on their hands... and maybe unitentionally a mouth.. but don't tell mum.
Also, 'Dad strength' is a thing! massive uplift in stamina :p

This takes me back 2.5 yrs before welcoming along our twins (B/G). Selling my track cars and motorbikes and buying the "sensible" family car (Zafira and now my E46 325i Touring). Congratulations to alex, been amazing how many great car channels have popped up on the last couple of years, been watching you since your first video with Alex. My adorable baby daughter was born on the 4th june and after a long and messy labour both her and mum are now healthy and happy. I'm stuck with a 83bhp 1.25 Kia Rio at the moment which on the way home from the hospital I could have steered with my knees. All these channels help keep a passion for cars going.

As a father to 3 daughters, who ideally wanted a son 😅 I can 100% say I wouldn’t change a thing. I love my daughters more than anything. And seeing some of my mates with boys I’m glad I have girls 😂 that may all change when they hit their teen years 😂 but as it’s stands having 3 Tom boys in my life is brilliant. They’re all into cars and anything motorised and slightly dangerous much to the dismay of their mother 😅
And going back to Ben’s analogy of becoming a dad for the first time and buying your dream car, it is very similar. Because you don’t know what to expect and they both have to potential to be a total nightmare or to bring you a lot of joy. But you will look back at it all with fond memories whatever the outcome. My eldest who’s now 9 didn’t sleep at night for the first 6 months. We tried everything but nothing worked. I honestly don’t know how we did it but we did survive. She now sleeps like a log and is a pain in the bum to get out of bed of a morning. Fun times.
Honestly though all the best Alex and Rianne with becoming parents. We’re all rooting for you

This made me think back (12 years!) to the week my daughter was due. I’d sold my TVR and the “sensible” replacement was an S4 Cab. I can remember driving home from work in the evenings that week- I had no idea how it would change my life.
Magical times.
(And now I’m just badgering her to tidy her room and do her homework like a miserable old bugger 😂)
Ah that’s mad! They grow quick! My eldest is now 7 and just finished infant school today 🥹
@@dadcars That’s the start of the Goldilocks zone though- old enough to start talking to you properly and developing a real sense of identity but not yet a teen locked behind a bedroom door. Enjoy every moment of it- it’s golden!
My daughter was born 5 months ago, one of the hardest things done but also the best, we had a really collicy baby and it was brutal.

, I didn’t really mind it as I was around 6/7, but later on I just couldn’t fit 😂 however compared to the 964 it’s a huge improvement, as least I don’t feel the heat on my back 😂
Just a wee tip if using your Portchester use a sun blind in rear window or get a slight tint for stop sun shinning on your baby head as looks your friends one the sun shinning on her head but great video and all the best being a dad it has great times ahead
My mate's mom used to have one of those Porsches. I loved jumping in the back when I was small. The rear seats were just everywhere around me...

Good video Ben. Alex has that thousand yard stare only a soon-to-be dad can have. The birthing thing is all cool though. I delivered my second son in the hospital car park after double parking our Reflex Silver Y reg Mk4 Golf 1.4 auto next to the maternity ward and he decided he couldn't wait any longer.

I'm about to be a Dad really soon for the first time. I had to have one of those Petrol Head Pickle sleep suits. I went for the 6-9 months one because as you say, once the baby is born we'll prob be gifted with lots of new born baby gear. I think I made the right call haha

My 2yo daughter loves riding in our 993 Targa- I went with the original Porsche Child Seat in the back. It actually fits in there quite well but can be a bit hard to get your hands on. Also check reenlist for more creative solutions... Great Video, just ordered the shirt and stickers! :)

I'm a dad to two boys one girl love the relationship differences mine are 12,11 and my newest son is 19 months and completely different experience again especially in my 30s but we are super duper close (daddies boy ) .

My first slept all night had to wake her for feeds my 2nd he didnt sleep for more thant a few hours a time for 2 years of no sleep

Alex is about to discover that ‘spare time’ is a concept only enjoyed by adults that have no children😂😂😂 To say having kids is life changing would be an understatement.
I'm right at the other end of the process as my eldest of two daughters turns 18 next week. I'm also the same age as Alex and would love to tell you two that they get easier as they get older and become teens but I'm rubbish at lying!

Im 50, i was 10 when my bro was born. He had cholic(sp?) I'm STILL TRAUMATISED. lol. 5pm every night he would start up with his wailing. And it would go on for hours. It properly interferred with Blue Peter. One day i might get over it.... ;)
