Ein selten schönes Konzert, zumal in einer Fremdsprache, ein großes LOB. Die schönste Arie für mich ist: "O selig, wem der Herr gewähret." Selten habe ich eine Sopranisten gehört, deren Stimme fast mit den Instrumenten zu verschmelzen scheint, wie die zweite "Israelitin". Toll gemacht. Die Solostimmen der Männer waren immer zu verstehen. TOP. Auch ein Lob an den Chor, der dem Konzert erst die Gänsehaut verschafft.
Es ist wahr, der Tag steht vor der Tür, an dem ich selig sein werden IHN, den Heiland, den Göttlichen, zu sehen.
A rarely beautiful concert, especially in a foreign language, a great praise. The most beautiful aria for me is "O blessed whom the LORD grants." Rarely have I heard a soprano whose voice melt with the instruments, like the second "Idraelite". Great job. The solo voices of the men were alsways understandable. TOP! Also praise to the choir, which ist what gives the concert its goosebumps.
It is true, the day is coming when I will be blessed to see Him, the Savior, the Divine One, Jesus my LORD.

What a delight masterful choral concert work to listen to! It is grandeur from the Baroque style of J.S. Bach and later to listen to his son C. P E. Bach how his composition evolved into pure Classicism. In this work, one appreciates the early composition of the classical style. In this fabulous work, 'Die Israeliten in der Wüsten,' the Bel Canto is well achieved. The compass range of the singers and the instrumental orchestra is dynamic, is staggeringly brilliant, and solemn. The choral and the soloist sing with a wonderful sparkle, pristine, and shine voices, feels like GLORY! The ingenious maestro conducts the perfect trained orchestra in a good phrase tempo with pleasant dynamics. MAJESTIC RENDITION & AMAZING LYRICS!!!

Philipp, like godfather Telemann, for whom he had a lifelong admiration.
So many typical CPE Bach mannerisms in this piece. Syncopated rhythms, abrupt changes in direction, unique and complicated harmonies for the time period. The soloists are outstanding in this version. I have an old CD from 1988 and despite a few hiccups from the college instrumentalists, I think. i prefer this version.
