This is great:) as Masai has said it’s a direction we are going in to win. Sure it’s about the big picture but also the little things a few wins, good basketball iq, accomplishments like making all star or rookie of the year. These things pay off and slowly but surely the raptors are heading in the right direction. This is all sports not just basketball it’s a fun process and each move and decision is crucial

Let's Go Raptors! Excited for next season and the future. (totally unsolicited feedback to the Raptors PR/media department, the format of this press conference was so odd, with the super low chairs and Matt asking questions from the front row vs. being on stage with Masai and the players during the whole event. Audio quality and camera work was also a bit wonky. We should be world class in everything, including press conferences given that Raptor Nation is watching this all over the world really and this is the experience you are giving us.)

Scottie still has room to improve so that's very promising now that we know that FVV, Spicy and OG are gone.
IQ got real potential and he was working through his PG skills to showcase in a new system as starter. He didnt quite showcase his defensive side so hopefully that comes out more the coming season. He needs to work on closing in the paint, too many missed layups.
RJ is the piece that's intriguing working with Scottie and IQ. I think if Raptors can spread out more (e.g. Scottie improving on his long range shooting), RJ has more room to operate driving/mid-range and kick-out to a Gradey or IQ. Jak would be a key operator here to enable this. Bench seems to be stronger anchored by Olynyk, Brown, Boucher and draftees. Ochai and Davion are guys that can redeem themselves here so should be interesting ro watch.

There is a reason why Pokusevski is not getting attention now. He was given an ultimate chance last year and never made great enough improvements to be kept around. Paul Reed maybe a swing you can take but the only problem is that they do not have any roster spots left. They would have to either cut someone or trade 2-1 for another player. You also take some time from younger guys developing. All of the free agents listed are all going to leave for other teams. Gary has shown what he can provide and teams know who is. It should tell you something that he is not being coveted. Nwora was god awful except for his one Michael Jordan like performance. Selfish players with questionable iq and bad decision making don't fair well in Darko's system.

@@tomtombaseball Pokusevski is still only 23 years old. It a no lose situation. Sign him to a training camp contract. If he doesn't show enough the Raps can just release him. Reed, as per reports, may be on the way to NY but he would be a nice fit behind Poeltl as well.
The Raps could be trading Brown and Boucher. Vezenkov could be released or traded as well. We will see what the Raptors' roster looks like after Vegas summer league is over. Also, they can easily release someone like Freeman-Liberty with all of their guard depth.
GTJ is coveted though. Teams like Milwaukee can only offer him minimum contract because of their salary cap. He will find a nice home most likely via a S&T and get at least the 12 million MLE. The Raps can exceed the salary cap and sign him to a MLE contract as well. Time will tell.
