#12 and #7 are my favorites on my list. Growing up with some omnivorous purple Tyrannosaurus Rex (his favorite meal is a PB&J sandwich with a glass of milk, if you know what I mean), the former brings me back memories. #7 is a tell-tale sign of a groovy show, Vegetable Soup. But being born and raised in what I call "NJN Nation" (I now live in WEDU territory), I want your opinion on this station ID (watch?v=EWYlLgeKmQM) I grew up having to share the TV, meaning missing my evening toons with someone having NJN News on. Now that I'm older (and with NJN having handed over to NJTV early on my second day of my summer vacation on July 1, 2011 back in NJ - BUMMER), this logo is a time machine of its own.
I would like to do that, actually, but this channel doesn't have a focus on news intros (at least for now). It's more something that I study in my free time.
3:17 bro the ncrv 1975 ident XD The ident didnt include the tv this was from het gevoel van a series by the KRO where they show old stuff (which uses the tv)
Spongebob Squarepants Macaroni and Cheese by Fried Chilli Cheese Dogs. FCCD privated most of his videos though so here's a reupload: ua-cam.com/video/aolNL9hn5pw/v-deo.html timestamp 1:36.
Yep, it's a commercial parody for Spongebob Mac and Cheese. I honestly was looking for some cheese-related thing out of a rush and that fit pretty good.
The AETV logo at #11 uses the same library music track that was used as the theme for the PBS show "The Computer Chronicles" for it's earlier seasons (which premiered in 1983, around the same time AETV's logo was introduced). It's a piece from Network Music called "Byte by Byte" (ua-cam.com/video/CzRKEmqfawI/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Bob ).
It isn't perfect. I was trying to line up the timing as perfectly as possible but the camera animation isn't exact. Also the lighting in Blender can't be done in the same way as the logos of old, but it's pretty good I think.

I thought that the KWSU logo was a home video logo. Not a PBS logo. How did it pass the PBS standards. It's terrifying because of that music. And the animation is awful.
ua-cam.com/video/9X6764zYW7w/v-deo.html A 1982 intro to an Italian sports show. Quite unfitting for a sports show in my opinion, but whatever. It's pretty nice I guess.
As you made a ident inspired on the 1983 Globo's (which is scary for me, but nvm), can you do a Cheesiest Brazilian TV Logos? There are lots of material worthy for that. (let the link if you already did)
Hmm... I'd have to start doing other countries if I did that. To be quite honest, outside of television companies there I don't know a whole lot of Brazilian logos, but I'll think about it
These are all the most known tv companies: Globo SBT (fka TVS) RedeTV TV Record Band TV Cultura The flop Rede CNT and dead companies as Manchete, TV Tupi and Excelsior also have interesing logo history :v

1981 Idaho PTV - Pretty creative design, not much to it. 1985 WTVP - Pretty sloppy animation and design, but there are only remakes out there so what can I say? 1981 KTCA - Oh god. I should've put that in this list. It's like Mexicans moved to Minnesota. The animation is kinda crap too. 1970 OECA - Solid logo, actually. Just a bit creepy though. 1987 WHA - A bit cheesy, but not too bad 2011 WGVU - Not terrible, pretty good if anything.
For the record, KWSU is from Pullman, WA. Just saying. :-) EDIT: Oh, and I think Erie's affiliate, WQLN, could've also made the list. The logos they had in the 70s and 80s also used a very WGBH-esque jingle that might be even creepier than WGBH itself. Though not as awful as KWSU and Idaho PTV...
I knew it was in Washington somewhere, but I forgot where specifically...so I just put "Washington State" lol The blue one, right, from '78-'85? Tbh I just saw that one yesterday so including it wouldn't have been possible. It is a contender.
Yup-- the blue one. With sound waves, a little squiggle to draw the "Q", and sending off a very WGBH-esque flash, too. (Albeit colored light blue instead of orange...)

TAT COMMUNICATIONS COMPANY (1979-82) no matter the rarity, its still quite a bad logo. cheap scanimation that looks like someone messing around with the Scanimate equipment during break, awful FUTARISTEK SINTESAIZER® music that sounds like an air raid siren high on a weird substance from Botswana... the logo looks like it was done in 5 hours, the music included. for a company that distributed such awardwinning sitcoms as 'One day at a time', youd think they would make a better logo. no wonder we have very few recordings of it.
You remind me that every logo in the honorable mentions list has a synthesizer of some kind in it. The main list has a lot too. Synthesizers are just cheap tools that anyone could fiddle with, so they went with it.
@Brian Hebert Step five: edit it all together Step six: Profit. Maybe. But to be serious, synthesizers are good instruments, the key thing that’s bad with them being used in these idents is that they were being used to make cheap, plink ponk, hip tunes that would make the stations sound in touch. While some examples worked like the ‘77 WGBH ident, while others like the KWSU ident and the MPBN ident didn’t work and sounded creepy, strange and quite cheesy. In simple terms, synth good, but synth based idents not so good always.
#6 (MPBN) is pretty bad. It looks about 10 years older than it is. Also, all of the variations of the WGBH flying text are pretty awful. I also got a good chuckle out of the Idaho one, on the topic of WGBH.
You're literally just asking if I like france without any context? There has to be a reason why you're asking. I'll say I don't know much about France, so I'm neutral about it.
No's Top 12 Cheesiest PBS Affiliates and Educational logos: This is my point-of-view what I wrote in this comment. 12. Connecticut Public Televisión (1993): Not bad, just a closure logo. 11. Arkansas Educational Television Network (1983): Not so good combined between graphics and music, but descent. 10. Children's Television Workshop (1983): Not bad for this ident. Just don't scare for sensitive people by the black background. 9. WNIN Evansville (2016): It would be better if has a music, plus the fade animation is a not-so-chessy logo because the word "production" has a 0.7 seconds delay to fade. 8. WNED-TV 17 (1966): Weird animation, but good start for the innovation. 7. BMC/NYESD (1975): First at all, I can't get it if two public corporations worked together, unless they have to see their initials by combined name. And secondly, that music it doesn't match with their synthesizer notes. 6. Maine Public Broadcasting Network (1981): It's a little bit late for the animation, unless it has an another one than zoom-in. 5. South Carolina Educational Television (1981): The animation is okay, but a music is outdated with a disco music because it supposed to launch in the late-1970s. 4. WGBH-TV 2 (1972): The music is originally released in that year. Nevertheless, the animation is awful with a combined music looking like a hurried zoom. Thankfully, the 1977 logo it's a legendary because the music matches with a drawing a logo animation. 3. KWSU (1976): The music is pretty distorted using a synthesizer notes, and graphics are in acid with a scary black background. Just a bland ident, unless to put a 0.25x speed but still bland the animation, XD. 2. University of North Carolina TV (1971): Not bad for the music and the animation, but the wordmark is just too weird to see. Honorable mentions: IDEPBS (1982): Not-so-chessy ident, but the wordmark is exaggerated by putting the initials. KVIE-TV 6 (1979): No animation, disturb music. The end. WPBT (1979): The word supposed to put a name first, then the word "presents" at the end. I know that it's a public TV station, but just added the name "Miami presents". OEPBS (1977): Good ident, and just like a national network ident from 1971, without which is stands for. WTVS Detroit (1978): Not bad. 1. KUCB-TV 8 (1982): Poorest ident ever. Just add a lettering and the seal of the park with no animation. Shame. Note: I put initials instead the complete name of some mentions on the list because is too long to call.
Sheesh! Idaho EPBS and KVIE's music sounds inspired by WGBH, but the MPBN logo looks, animates, and sounds like a complete ripoff. Not to mention the music sounds scarier and the announcer sounds evil.
0:58 This music was also been used in The Computer Chronicles, a show that was been aired by KCSM-TV San Mateo, which is now KPJK, and the show was been aired from 1983 to early 2000s.

Also I like your sense of humor.

Yet another fantastic logo countdown. Could not agree more with #1.
Great list! BTW, the commercial break and the Mac & Cheese part from #1 is hilarious! XD

Another great logo list from No.
What makes No. 6 even worse is that it's one of the only PBS networks worth watching, as it airs basketball, minor league, and high school.
That TV NO.NO logo/Rede Globo remake looks really good!
It isn't perfect.
I was trying to line up the timing as perfectly as possible but the camera animation isn't exact. Also the lighting in Blender can't be done in the same way as the logos of old, but it's pretty good I think.

1. KUCB-TV 8 (1982): Poorest ident ever. Just add a lettering and the seal of the park with no animation. Shame.
Note: I put initials instead the complete name of some mentions on the list because is too long to call.
Number 6 is a complete stupid Volume Inducing rippoff of WGBH and WGBY 1977 logo.
oooop
Sheesh! Idaho EPBS and KVIE's music sounds inspired by WGBH, but the MPBN logo looks, animates, and sounds like a complete ripoff. Not to mention the music sounds scarier and the announcer sounds evil.
