Oh this one makes me cryyyyy.
    Here's why...
We went to the Reagan Library. I swore I would make his the first if not the only one I would go to.
As you know, before stepping in those very revered doors, is part of the, "Mr Gorbachev, tear down that wall".
    The inscription made me cryyyyy.
I'm a gal who likes to touch history so I touched everything I could.
We bought a big poster of Ronnie on his horse and I snapped some pics that proudly hang in my hall.
Soooo honored to step in his library.
A big thank you for this video. Brings a lot of it right back.
    GREAT video.
    Thanks !!!

Jeff, my boyfriend in high school, future husband, worked on the flight line at our local airport in our junior year. This was 1975-76. He fueled up planes and jets in the hangers. The President came for a visit. My boyfriend had to fuel Air Force One. He had to be checked out by the Secret Service. A SS guy watched him fuel the plane. It must’ve been Ford who visited.

@@jbenziggy it was awesome! Air Force one and the building were still under construction. I wish we’d gone back after it was completed. We did go to Dixon, Illinois to his home, which is a museum now. We also went to Eureka College because we didn’t live too far from there at the time. They have a nice museum and memorial to Reagan there as well as a section of the Berlin Wall. Thanks for all you do Jeff! Hi to Sarah!

I grew up in Prophetstown IL. Which is only a few miles from Tampico. I also graduated from Sauk Valley Community College, in Dixon IL. So knowing about Ronald Reagan is like breathing. I saw him in the parade when he came home to Dixon during his Presidency. I took my very young kids then. I live in Tennessee now and haven't been home in 14 years. Wow that sounds so long!!! My brother still has a house in Prophetstown and my 3 brothers visit frequently. Sure made me want to go back for a visit! ~ Jill Gross

I felt so privileged to shake Mr. Reagan's hand in May 1994 but I could tell something seemed off about him. He seemed a little confused and I remarked that to my mother who was with me. That December he announced he had Alzheimer's Disease and I felt my suspicions were confirmed. He was a great man and a great president and lived an extraordinary life! Thanks for watching and sharing about your connections to him, Jill! Much appreciated!

Hello Jeff, I couldn't wait to watch this video and talk to you about President Reagan, can't believe it's almost 20 years since he left this world. Reagan has always been my childhood hero, growing up in the 80s, I see him almost everyday on the news, he was one President I regret never having a chance to write to, in 1988 what would he think of a 10 year old who wants to learn about President History?
When he passaway I did cry, next to Lincoln, Reagan was my favorite President. In 2005 I've got to visit the Reagan Library, sadly I didn't see Air Force One and his gravesite, his gravesite at the time was cover under the tent, probably to make it look nice, I hope to go back again someday, since then I've got to visit other President Library, Nixon, Hoover & Lincoln. 🙂
Speaking of Air Force One, the new Reagan movie is coming out on August 30th, can't wait to see it, in the movie they film all the air force one scenes at the Reagan's Library on Air Force one, and all the Ranch scenes at the Ranch where Reagan lives. I remember mentioning this movie to you, in my opinion I think this movie will be a good film on Reagan and not negative, The movie trailer is now on UA-cam. Thankyou so much for making this video. 🙂

Thanks for sharing it…yes, love his referring to Lincoln saying that he couldn’t do anything without Gods to help. I’ve been to the Reagan library twice, and I enjoyed it so much. I would love to go back again. Man oh man that letter you got from him could be there! Awesome! Btw, what did he mean in the letter when he congratulated you for an election?
