As everyone is commenting on the Roma wine ads, I thought I’d mention that THEY $pon$ored this classic radio drama. Only one $pon$or [read Ad] per quarter series along with the contemporary film & artist promotion associated with the main acts. These accomplished actors abound on the screen (film & eventually television) & in the air in the mid 20th century. A family would sit around and listen to the dramas & radio plays, each using their own imagination at the favor of their own timely plot alignment. So, I’m grateful for the Roma wine company $pon$ored inspirational enrichment, theatrical arts, & enriching storytelling. Sadly, only rare dramas are put over radio waves today, but LA THEATER WORKS hosts a weekly play over the Saturday 10-Midnight slot; the production isn’t as cinematic but the actors are current & worth listening too. Still, I wish we had radio theater like SUSPENSE! Thank you for pulling all the Vincent Price episodes together. I ADORE him❣️ 🥰🎉🎁🎊🥳🎉🎁🎉🥳🎊🎁🎉🥰
Yep! A lot of people don’t know a few companies sponsored radio dramas! It’s how “soap operas” were made. :) “P&G was one of the first companies to sponsor daytime serial dramas on the radio in the 1930s to advertise their products to housewives. The shows were associated with sponsors such as P&G's Oxydol, Duz and Ivory soaps and were dubbed “soap operas.”

Even after listening to this masterpiece at least 5 times I still find myself struck dumb with wonder and chilled to the bone.
