  • When it comes to iconic names WRANGLER holds a special place in the hearts of those who live to get out and discover. The WRANGLER name was coined way back in 1987, even though it’s spiritually descended from the WORLD WAR II WILLYS army vehicle of the same shape, the WRANGLER is the very essence of the JEEP brand, and as vital to its identity as the 911 is to Porsche.

    I absolutely disagree with you about the vehicle user manual. A physical manual is an absolute must have. I like to have one to hand and refer to it at any time I want to, without having to screw around with the Internet or flipping through endless screens to find the information I need.

    “AN SUV THAT YOU BUY BECAUSE YOU LIKE THE WAY IT LOOKS AND YOU LOVE THE IMAGE THAT IT REPRESENTS.” This! You nailed it! As a Californian, you see a jeep at least 1 for evry mile. Not all do off road, but its just the look and what jeep makes them feel. Im a Californian jeep owner and with this reason why i exactly keep buying jeeps.

    I've had two UK bought wranglers. A 2013 sahara which i sold for 20 grand a few years back. A 2014 sahara is retailing around 26 grand today. I also had a 2015 special edition which i sold for 26 grand and is on sale today for 29 grand. Still regret the sale :(

    I had no idea wrangler had an Overland package overseas. Interesting

    Enjoyed the video - very informative. When I purchase a car, my main focus is on depreciation - on the Wrangler, you mentioned 45% to 50% retained value, but you mentioned this against a 3 year and a 4 year old Wrangler - what period is it? My research shows that the retained value after 3 years is around 55%. Cheers.

    I think you’ve got the MPG set to the wrong region (US maybe ??) I’ve got the 2.0 turbo Rubicon and I’m getting between 28 to 30mpg combined driving. On a long run I can get just over 30, towing my twin axle caravan over a 1400 mile road trip I even managed 21mpg which I was really impressed with.

    • @rich7447
      @rich7447 2 роки тому

      Isn't a twin axle caravan heavier than the 3500lb tow rating?

    • @mazakari1
      @mazakari1 2 роки тому

      @@rich7447 Hi Rich - in the UK the Rubicon (four door) is rated to tow 2370kg (5225lbs) My twin axle caravan has a MTPLM of 1705kg (3758lbs) 👍🏼

    • @rich7447
      @rich7447 2 роки тому

      @@mazakari1 Wow. It is pretty crazy that the UK tow rating is 50% higher than the US. Although the UK Ranger is rated higher than the US version too.
      I have been hitting the top of the tow rating on my tow vehicle (2011 Ram 2500 diesel - 14,000 lb tow rating) and have been looking to upgrade to an F450 (37,000 lb tow rating). If I were in the UK I might still be okay with the Ram.

    • @mazakari1
      @mazakari1 2 роки тому

      @@rich7447 Ah, but just having a F450 would be awesome. F250 is probably as big as you could have in the UK without needing a commercial driving licence 🙄 Where we win in some respects, you definitely win in others !!!

    • @rich7447
      @rich7447 2 роки тому +1

      @@mazakari1 I believe that even the F250 (10k lb GVWR) is above your max weight for a standard license when loaded to capacity. It would also be a nightmare to drive on your roads. LOL.
      I tried to order the F450 last week and have been told that I have to wait to order a 2023. Believe it or not, but it will be the second largest vehicle in the driveway once I get it. I have a 42' motor coach (11L diesel) based RV that we use for long trips. It is big enough (46,000 lbs) that I need a commercial license for it in the states.

      The main reason it got one starts bc in the small over lap test it rolled onto the side and slid, however due to there being a full roll cage you’d be fine

      That’s disappointing, I was hoping for about 30 mpg on a run, around town I was expecting about 20 mpg.

    • @josh3908

      @@AJThePlayerUA-camChannel That's bad, I've got 28mpg out of the 3.6 Pentastar engine in a JL Sport in the US cruising at 70mph, bearing in mind US gallons are also smaller than UK gallons.
