Two violinists meet on the street. Violinist #1: "Our symphony orchestra is doing Mozart's concertos. We're getting great reviews." Violinist #2: "I played in a song about how astronauts can't be ninjas."
they wrote this and many other of their songs (performed on The Sideshow) were written in 2007. soz! i'm just obsessed with the show and all the performers! :-)
Part of me thinks this song is about casual racism and stereotyping (in that despite the fact they're "fascinated" with Japanese culture, it's reduced to ninjas, Tamagotchis, origami and tea) and that it's commentary on how we're desensitised to it. The other part of me thinks that the first part should shut up and that they just wanted to do a silly song about ninjas in space.
easily the best tripod song ever... i love it! =D
This song at times is styled like Space Oddity by Bowie. Nice touch, Tripod.
Wow, great song already - but the strings take this into incredible territory.
i kno - I was humming this in the shop today, it stays with u
Wow! Gatesy looks incredible in this clip!

awesome, mates, just plain awesome....and slightly random, but that's why we love these blokes :)
I love this song. Even though it's funny, the tune has a serious tune to it and draws you in. I'm addicted to it now :P
this is my favourite tripod song, so awesome, even if it weren't comical i think i'd still love it =D
tripod are awesome! thx for the upload. yet still i wish 'downunder' that they did with collin hay was still around..it got removed or something?
yup, sure will change it. I'm a new fan to them and i have to guess as to some of the titles, thanks.
Yeah... he kinda does... I didn't notice until you said that but he totally does.
at 50 seconds, Gatesy looks angelic, what with those godrays of light just shining behind his head :D
I like how the entire video is basically one long setup for a joke about nonsensical Japanese television. Classic.
@cantworkitout It actually is a really epic song, I love it.
It'll take a while but I'll try to work on getting some of the earlier clips up as well.
epic stuff
love this song!! HAHA
nice reference to 'Gremlins' in there
=)
i know i was hummining it in school and then i started singining it and everyone in class stared at me like i was an idiot. lol!
omg. who arranged this?
💜💜
Can't believe this was 10 years ago o__o
I can’t believe this comment was 4 years ago

The first time I ever heard the word 'bukake' was in this song, haha.
this is an awsome song, scod looks cute scruffy & gatesy is just hot
@Muglez14 well, It's Japanese TV, anyway
Timeslot change really F'd me up. Had to tape it coz I was busy, next day I find I've got an hour of netball!
i know what you're all wondering have tripod ever been to japan!!!! WTF are they thinking when they write these songs!!! lol tripod rocks
@verylittleknowledge ~ Technically, it's a song about how NINJAS cannot be ASTRONAUTS.
It has the same meaning as the ending in this version, it just not as well known.
bahaha, so true he does. But, Adam Pascal sounds like Barney the dinosaur in Without You OBCR. *shrugs*
Not to spoil things, but there ARE Japanese astronauts.
They had 6 years to be outraged by this song and get some people up there before you made your comment.
@@tzuyd First Japanese astronaut flew in 1990. Mind you I love Tripod.
Scod looks like Floyd Pepper in this.

Red herrings normally indicate something that's out of place, or intentionally leading you in the wrong direction.
Which is Japan from top to bottom.
whats bukkake?
a japanese guy from my school became an astronaut hahah
hehe yea
No, he looks looks like one of the Bee Gees when they have to read small type.
That was kinda funny - the men who put the culture into yogurt...
Sometimes I think their beautiful harmonies are wasted on silly songs, even though it's funny.
there is a japanese space program
that's not exactly unusual with a lot of comedy bands, like axis of awesome, etc
this version is not the same as the one on their album
scod looks like lemmy in this vid
If there are any Doctor Who fans that read this...Who thinks that Gatesy looks like The Master? (John Simm) Lol, I do!
There actually are Japanese astronauts
can gatesy get much hotter?
