- Ah, the Drax ─ One of the key tool in Terraria. You use it to mind Chlorophyte ores, so you will need one, unless you're planning for a challenge not to use those ores for some reason. Or, you could craft a Pickaxe Axe, if you really wish. But say, Drax was introduced in Terraria 1.1 ─ Meanwhile, its ingredient, Hallowed Bar, wasn't invented until Terraria 1.2. So, what gives? Was the Drax unobtainable, like S.D.M.G in Terraria 1.2? Well, I looked it up, by going back to Terraria 1.1 era.

Back then I used to believe Hallowed Bars were from "Hallowed Ores" from the Hallow Caverns, my god I wasted 3 and a half hours mining only to realize they weren't obtainable via mining

The Hallowed armor requiring other lower tier armour and a boss' souls to craft reminds me of the Titan, Spectral and Dragon armor, which required Hallowed armor, with the Adamantite, cobalt and mythril armors (if you didn't have the correct ores, you would need to create a new world or fish for it), plus souls of Blight from Ocram, and souls of Fright, Sight and Might for the greaves and chestplate.
The only difference with Old-gen and 3DS, is that on Old-gen you could use Titanium armor piece instead of Adamantite.
Funny detail: The phrase in the description of Drax "Not to be confused with Hamdrax" in the Russian version was translated literally, so the description there reads: "Not to be confused with the saw for ham".
Friendship ended with Drax.
I now wish to receive Hamdrax in the new update.

Since there is the ancient hallowed armor set crafted at demon alters, it would be cool if they replaced that recipe with the old one because its already the old model, and wouldn't affect progression at all

Also 1.1: Don't worry it won't require any bar, It requires cobalt, mythril and adamantite drills, chainsaws with the 5 of the three souls.
1.2: ... it's enough, were removing hammer power, and replacing recipes: Hallowed bars instead, except it still requires souls.
My friends and I played mobile terraria all the time before they added hard mode to that version. I found hamdrax in a shadow chest one day and it still reigns supreme as the happiest I’ve ever been to achieve something in a video game.

There was a time in 1.2 I was playing and for some reason I got the hamdrax in a jungle shrine for some reasons and just didn't question it
This itched my brain a lot since I did play Terraria way back in the day when it was launched on mobile. (I started playing in late 2013 I think). So it is possible I could have encountered this.

maybe instead of right clicking to change forms, a modern hamdrax would break walls with auto cursor and reorient blocks when manually selecting

Wait! You want to say that Drax was in a shadow chest? When i was 7 year old, i find a Drax in a shadow chest, but because my phone on that moment was too old and weak, every time i close terraria app, it delete my world. So.... next 6 month i NEVER closed terraria app. Then, forgot about terraria, until 2022, where i come back to it. And when i remember that i found Drax in shadow chest, i always thinks that it some sort of bug, or something like that. But you the first people, that say, that is just a normal (rare) thing in 1.2 . I have a question - who besides me also get it? (also sorry for my bad english)
my brother got one of these from a shadow chest before they removed that i remeber being jelous that i didnt have one pre hardmode

hamdrax was awful, whenever you tried to go underground it would take longer as it mines the background blocks too. I can say from experience back then
