Naruto was an anomaly to him, so he was like poking and prodding him so see his reactions, it seems like alittle inner struggle or at least curiousity about how Naruto turned out so much different than him.
The parallels between Naruto and Sasuke with himself and Kakashi weren't lost Obito, and I believe his latent desire to still be Hokage contributed to his cognitive dissonance in how he dealt with them. For all his nihilistic talk, a part of him wanted to be a mentor and guardian to the up and coming generation.
To be fair to Obito, he wasn't planning on Kabuto showing up and telling the entire world where the Akatsuki were. I'm guessing his initial plan was to stay hidden and pull an Invasion of the Body Snatchers plot on the world.
Obito wanted to break naruto and turn him to darkness before he captured him thats why his behavior is so inconsistent as well as the black zetsu stuff yall mentioned. Obito saw himself in naruto and needed to get him to fall just as he did so he could validate his actions and his dream. As yall said he was trying to confirm if he had made the right choice through naruto so he was holding back the entire time
Obito absolutely fumbled worse. Kabuto didn’t even start with these ambitions, He kinda picked the war and all that up as a lil side quest 🤣🤣 this war was Obito’s lifelong pursuit, really. He invested so much into this just to fumble the easiest and most crucial moments along the way. Kabuto definitely didn’t min/max his options and strats but he actually had good plays. Some of his plays were hard to execute like wether or not to control the edo’s or let them run autopilot. Itachi absolutely shafted Kabuto too. Koto freeing Itachi was unpredictable and probably not preventable either. Obito went on the crazyiest selling spree that’s ever happened fr Great vid yal! Obito didn't want à war at first and I think that's something people really seem to miss, he explained his plan to the kage bc to him the moon plan was really a solution when they refused then he declared war bc anyway he wanted to use the aetsu to distract the kage while he go to take naruto and bee in their hiding. For why he didn't take naruto when he visited him, he already explained his goal at that moment was to know how naruto changed obito mind. Bc he started doubting himself since nagato's change
One thing that never made sense to me is why didn't obito capture naruto after itachi died literally or he could took him when was really young after minatos death or before itachi becomes a threat to him, or he could off also took naruto when he was in his darkest points in his life.
Obito had a God complex he felt that he could achieve all his feats effortlessly, which ultimately led to his demise. Can’t forget about Naruto’s Talk No Jutsu as well
His first mistake was announcing the war he could've went village to village with the zetsu and edo army and destroy everything. And there's not much any village could do against the edo kage, junchirikis, Akatsuki plus obito himself with kamui ECT all at once It would've been the ultimate sneak attack on every village depending on the order he went in. ( For ex attacking the sand village first probably would be a bad idea since gara would immediately alert the leaf since they're allies and he's friends with Naruto)
kishimot forget that japan strike pearl harbor first before declaring the war yes there isn't technical mistake but it's still sleek for them to still proceed with plan without confirming the declaration first

Imo, Obito is more like Jason Todd. They both got betrayed by their comrades and both came back from death, well in Obito's case from near death but still
Obito needed to break the seal on his heart so he could be jinchuriki of ten tails, i think thats why he didnt just jump them. Also the war is this ideological crusade against the world for him, its important to him that he demoralizes everybody
I blame kishimoto's terrble writing for this. the fact that many fans question the iq of the characters that are supposedly smart and cunning is just damning
How is it it terrible writing if it makes sense for the character. If a character is established as stupid and they make stupid decisions it’s not bad writing.
So I'm 1:50 minutes in and I already have the answer. Minato. Minato is the entire reason that Obito was set back the way he was. Obito knew Naruto was his son. He knew that Minato figured it all out and he also knew how smart Minato was. Minato had such contingency plans that even after his death, Minato still won in the end. Like yeah Obito could have taken Yamato, Kakashi and Naruto all at once if he wanted. The reason he didn't, Minato. He tried it and it almost killed his plan. He wasn't about to risk that again. He tried to face Minato while pretending to be Madara. Minato didn't care who he was and still stopped him anyway. Not sure on what else I can say really. Minato was almost as much of a cheat code as Hashirama was...
12:22 Once you pull something like this the enemy is gonna be on high alter going foward... The chaos of the zetsu impersonations would've been *d perfect time* to make some big destructive or deadly plays
Obito became the strongest in the verse and Kishimoto almost immediately removed kamui and the god tree from him lmao. That is possibly the biggest nerf in the history of the show
While Kakashi teleporting the 8 tails thanks to naruto's chakra is a massive feat, I think we can assume that Obito can't just teleport the transforming gedo mazo with 7 or more biju inside of it right. i mean he couldn't kamui with it inside of him at least. Then again madara...
All Obito had to do was carpet bomb the 5 villages with white zetsus while EVERY strong shinobi from all 5 of em were miles away in the supposed battlefield. Imagine what would happen to the shinobi's when news of their loved ones getting massacred reaches them. Instant demoralization and it would ruin any coherent battle plan they had.. They would have no reason to fight when they no longer have anything to protect. Obito could easily do with with Kamui - take the white zetsus into his kamui dimension and just pop out above the villages and let em lose.
@@justinarzola4584probably an exaggeration. but the idea of attacking the hidden villages while the strong was away is a solid plan too bad kishimoto didn't do this cuz that would end the story too quickly.
I mean, he could have done this... But Obito would never, if he really just wanted to kill everyone he could have just took out 90% of the strongest ninja himself. Obito genuinely believed people would be better off in the Infinite Tsukuyomi and unlike Madara he never enjoyed fighting - that's what makes him such a great character imo. If he did what you suggested he'd just be a generic mass murderer imo.
It would be day time if obito travelled to a far spot. Since gravity exists in Naruto we should assume time zones do too. The infinite tsukuyomi requires you to stare at the moon
I never watched the fight of Obito vs Naruto and Bee. But I KNOW that he really shouldn’t have lost there And also when he was ten tails Juubito. Like b1tch you can just blow them all up. Even if they try teleporting the bombs away just keep doing it tf?!
Obito is loathe to fight when Kakashi is nearby, and he initially wanted them to willingly give up Naruto, so of the two options (fight with Kakashi or potentially just let them give up Naruto willingly), he would prefer to at least try the latter, first. I think the Daimyō council might eventually force the hidden villages to give up the bijū otherwise they would cut the villages' funding, which would eventually just result in Obito's victory regardless. Obito gives up on the Daimyō when he sees it is faster to go for the bijū directly. He would have continued at that angle if they were still isolated somewhere else. I doubt Obito would want to work with Kabuto on the same target, but I agree he should not have trusted him with a task of such import. The point of the Zetsu is attrition warfare, even if the ratio is not 1:2, it still helps wear out and split up the enemy forces whilst Obito can position himself wherever he wants. Obito could likely make clones to bind the bijū over multiple areas, given Naruto was able to split up Kurama's chakra over a similar distance. Shikaku notes that forcing Naruto out to fight the White Zetsu imposters is playing into Obito's hands. He did not need much else. Shortly after Naruto arrived he directly confronted him and B with his Six Paths of Pain which is all he would need. The rest of the alliance did not show up until much later, after the Jūbi was already reborn. He presumably did not plan on Sasuke betraying him. Just having him as another asset is reason enough. It is unclear how much time passes before the war actual starts following the declaration. Surgery takes time to heal and Obito might not have been able to get Sasuke ready any sooner. Perhaps he could have given him a Zetsu injection, but Sasuke might have refused or Obito did not want to give him that much power. Obito originally wanted a complete Jūbi revival, and thus needed to take Naruto alive, and nearly got there multiple times. It is not until Naruto gets reinforcements that Obito is forced to accelerate his plans. Arguably it is a fumble to go so far for the complete revival to begin with (given he does not really need it), but if not for that, there would be no war since he could have just immediately gotten Ginkaku and Kinkaku to revive it.
I think the whole Sasuke situation was that Tobi being Obito was a retcon. Originally it was intended to be Madara and Tobi/Madara was actually seeing himself in Sasuke. Sasuke was the fire that Madara told Hashiirama that it no longer exists in Uchiha and Hashiirama said there would be someone eventually. That whole "I want to Validate existence of Uchiha" would be something that Madara might say not Obito. It is way too out of character. Obito never cared about that kind of things. Wanting to see Sasuke and Naruto fight is so something Madara would want. I think originally the plan was Madara qould be possessing Obito's body or something along those lines and rune-rebirth might have been intended to restore his body. Maybe I am way off the mark about last parts but it was definitely a retcone.
Trying to say that Obito wanted Naruto and Sasuke to fight as justification for why he didn't defeat Naruto and Bee and extract them and initiate the infinite Tsukyomi is really dumb. His dream could have been that he wanted his happy life with everyone alive and then had Naruto and Sasuke eventually fight in that dream anyway. He doesn't care who wins much, just that they fight. If he cared that much his dream would accommodate for it. Like it would for Rin.
Like Obito's approach isn't... to me, not as bad as Kabuto. Kabuto had EVERYTHING to lose with his whole "I will be the next Sage of Six Paths" and yet Obito is like "Nah, I don't care, I plan to be and then make my ideal world after I show everyone what despair is". And I guess that's his whole mentality in the whole thing; he's still in that lake of blood, looking at Rin's dead body. He still hates the world and hates everyone that defends the world full of nothing of misery, betrayal and death. Even in his fight against Kakashi inside the Kamui Dimension, he expresses to him how much he hates the real world and all it's done to him personality. You could say his personal feelings cause the downfall of winning or how he should have approach the war. And the blame for all of this... is ironically Naruto. Like ThunderGod and Satori said, Obito is the Naruto that could have been if he lost himself to the hell of the world. Like it's likely he was affected when Nagato lost to Naruto (lying that he wasn't), both in their fight and the philosophy side of things. The whole sweat part is also part of it and the idea of wanting Naruto and Sasuke to fight (I kinda laugh at the idea if maybe Obito wanted to see their fight go epic) just so Naruto sees the pointless of fighting a world of Hell. That Sasuke ain't going to see his point view and Naruto will be forced to kill his friend, breaking him. No doubt that part had to be handled better or even Turtle Island approach. YEA. That one he should have clarified why he didn't just go there or the Tailed Beasts. Now for doing the Ten-Tailed Ritual elsewhere, maybe he couldn't make a contract with it to summon it (even though it's still the Gedo Statue now flesh) or it would be too hard to control it? If Obito really needed the seal in his heart removed, he should have let Naruto hit him once with a strong Rasengan across his chest where his heart is, in the hopes it will be enough to damage or leave a hole through him just so he can perform the ritual to becoming the Ten-Tailed Jinchuuriki. It's all too weird. youtube.com/@ThunderGodTG I'm curious if you read this: What would your approach be if Obito and Kabuto weren't idiots and actually did everything right for the war? What could have changed to still lead with Naruto and the Shinobi Alliance to still manage a win... until Madara is like "HELL NO" and wins it all like he should.
Rather than fumbling. He probably wanted to lose. Like, why the f didn't he just take back his Kamui from Kakashi in part one Naruto or before. When Kakashi was way weaker. He could just extract Kurama from Child Naruto then clap the Villages with Akatsuki & Nine tails combo. He could have even taken out teen Itachi way earlier. Bruh.
Correct me if I'm wrong, Obito's intangibility requires some part of his body to remain go to the kamui dimension, while some part remains and he's very vulnerable when he uses kamui to suck things in.
It's possible that Obito didn't think he COULD capture Naruto during the five Kage summit. While Obito is undoubtedly stronger than everyone there at the moment and could win, he had just gotten news that Nagato had been defeated by Naruto, and didn't have a ton of information to go on to figure out how he had done it. Since Nagato at that time was the only person who could have possibly come close to Obito's level at that time, it's likely that his thought process was: Obito >= Pain Naruto > Pain Naruto = Obito??? In practice, that probably isn't the case, but I wouldn't blame him for feeling cautious when he still doesn't have the rinnegan yet and Naruto is also accompanied by Kakashi and Yamato, the former of which he knows has his eye and might be able to use it to get around Kamui. The REAL fumble was not capturing and sharingan hypnotizing Naruto off rip when he was a child.
Yo he did pretty damn good I think considering real Madara was revived, Kabuto plotting, but he went up against 5 Nations and made it pretty fucking far
Its so funnny obito has so many opportunities to get rid of naruto, but all he does is talk and try to mentally and emotionally break naruto, but instead he reverses his gashlighting on himself. Obito throws the worst
Yo does Kurama have a certain affinity for chakra nature? Narutopedia says Wind and Fire (rationale I think is because in the Pain Arc Kurama creates tornados and fire beams)
This video was great and i loved seeing y’all’s takes but at the end of the video with the whole why didn’t obito TP across the world i think it’s because minato already had him marked with a flying raijin seal so teleporting away would just be a waste of obitos chakra and also if minato TP’d to obito while he was still in kamui then that would be really bad for obito because it would stop him from kamuing again if he left cause if someone waited in the kamui dimension they could pull a kakashi and basically stop obito from using his kamui for a little bit.
No kishimoto probably did think about it and realized that isn’t possible cause it would result in minato immediately teleporting there. But we can never really know cause neither of us are kishimoto.

I am ngl, Obito wanting to see Sasuke and Naruto fight makes it dumber, cause of one thing. What happens if Sasuke kills Naruto in their fight and Obito can’t stop it? Good job Obito now you have to wait even longer to start the ten tails
He would probably just intervene at that realistically or just tell Sasuke to bring Naruto close to death which would count as a victory for him, but that’s only if Sasuke was pretty adamant to just outright kill Naruto.
The guy literally started a war over not getting laid. Like, as much as I liked the masked man, as much do I HATE obitos character. In my headcanon, masked man is the true obito
he did not want to win? i dont think any other thing can explain it, otherwise why the hell did he force all the nations to form a alliance, i think he wanted the world unite against him, like he could have dealt with any of the kage but did not, he could have went and help kabuto i mean after all he told black zetsu to put a white zetsu spore on him which he had tab on him, but we all know black and white zetsu was against obito after madara got revived, and probably did not give him any intel or maybe false ones. i feel the heart seal black and white zetsus and madara being revived all makes it impossible for him for him to think like a normal person, also the amount of time he just standing there letting them attack him while he did have kamui was outrageous. naruto used talk no jutsu against obito a few times but never worked on him, but the moment he lost the heart seal it worked, so maybe the heart seal dose something to him apart from just making a puppet.
Didn't obito start the war before kabuto rolled up with the reanimations? (i might be wrong) but like, without the reanimations, isn't it literally just... obito and the zetsu army, and i think kisame? (i think taka left akatsuki and itachi already dead by this point right?) Like without the reanimations, the war wouldn't of even been close right?
Nah I could see Obito pulling it off. He could buy time with white zetsu army of his and meanwhile zetsus distracting everyone he's be reviving gedo statue just as in original timeline, and once the 10 tails reached it's final stage then he asks kisame to stab out his heart with samehada and then he becomes Juubito and then everyone is fucced for sure
Obito actually didn’t get the Infinite Tsukyuomi under his conditions. He wanted to be the one to do it and snake Madara. Madara in this case technically did win the war.
@ThunderGodTG It doesn't necessarily matter if it was achieved under his condition or not, Infinite Tsukuyomi was accomplished, and that's all that matters. Obito didn't want to snake Madara, he only did that after Nagato sacrificed himself and decided he's going to do it himself, but the initial goal was for Madara to achieve it.
@Blane-zr7kn A fumble is more like coming close to victory only to make mistake and it costs you everything but IT was achieved so I don't see a fumble.
While this is true it’s very clear Obito never was fully on board with Madara like he notes to Madara himself. It became clear that in the war he was proactively working against Madara’s interest like removing the Tag on his heart and such. While they both did want the plan to succeed it seems that sometime into Obito being Madara he decided he wanted to be the one to enact it as opposed to Madara which is technical but, I do think it’s worth noting.

Naruto was an anomaly to him, so he was like poking and prodding him so see his reactions, it seems like alittle inner struggle or at least curiousity about how Naruto turned out so much different than him.

Can you do a video of the Zero Tails
@@thmistrapillay1811bro ive been wanting a vid about the zero tails ever since I seen that movie
Obito went on the crazyiest selling spree that’s ever happened fr
Great vid yal! Yal are mad funny fr i Laugh during yals content more than any other creators rn fa sho 😂
Gara too
Obito had a God complex he felt that he could achieve all his feats effortlessly, which ultimately led to his demise. Can’t forget about Naruto’s Talk No Jutsu as well
We need a "What if" series for Naruto. That Shippuden movie with Menma was tuff.
His first mistake was announcing the war he could've went village to village with the zetsu and edo army and destroy everything. And there's not much any village could do against the edo kage, junchirikis, Akatsuki plus obito himself with kamui ECT all at once
It would've been the ultimate sneak attack on every village depending on the order he went in.
( For ex attacking the sand village first probably would be a bad idea since gara would immediately alert the leaf since they're allies and he's friends with Naruto)
kishimot forget that japan strike pearl harbor first before declaring the war
yes there isn't technical mistake but it's still sleek for them to still proceed with plan without confirming the declaration first
But he wanted to propose the plan to the kages first and see their reaction.
His plan isn't to not just give à fuck about others. He always tried to prove himself the moon plan wa the solution so he explained them his plan first and they refused so he declared war

The thing with obito teleporting away is that he still has to get the seal removed by someone
I see it as Obito is the Joker. He just creates chaos for the thrill
Imo, Obito is more like Jason Todd. They both got betrayed by their comrades and both came back from death, well in Obito's case from near death but still
I'd guess the reason Obito let Kabuto go alone to turtle island is because he wanted him to die there
Lmao facts. Dude was straight up blackmailing him and being annoying while at it too
Great video!
Obito needed to break the seal on his heart so he could be jinchuriki of ten tails, i think thats why he didnt just jump them.
Also the war is this ideological crusade against the world for him, its important to him that he demoralizes everybody
The one thing that makes obitos actions makes sense to me is the curse seal tag on his heart.
lol nvm y’all got to it 😂
Obito really should've just jumped the Shinobi World. It wasn't needed to tell anyone about the war, as cool as it was.
Obito is the final valley cameraman confirmed.
Been waiting on this one 🤤
I blame kishimoto's terrble writing for this. the fact that many fans question the iq of the characters that are supposedly smart and cunning is just damning
finally someone with common sense
fictional characters can't decide themselves, it's all on author
If that was the case don't you think he should of been even more cautious instead of deciding to announce his entire plan to the 5 kage?
I just realized. How the heck are you still only at 25k subs gang you deserve way more than that with your quality of videos

That is possibly the biggest nerf in the history of the show
Meanwhile allowed madara to absorb it and use kamui. I'm still mad about this
While Kakashi teleporting the 8 tails thanks to naruto's chakra is a massive feat, I think we can assume that Obito can't just teleport the transforming gedo mazo with 7 or more biju inside of it right. i mean he couldn't kamui with it inside of him at least.
Obito could easily do with with Kamui - take the white zetsus into his kamui dimension and just pop out above the villages and let em lose.
unfortunately kishimoto didn't think through before writing war arc
How would he "carpet bomb" Zetsu's, he ain't flying a plane lol.
@@justinarzola4584probably an exaggeration. but the idea of attacking the hidden villages while the strong was away is a solid plan too bad kishimoto didn't do this cuz that would end the story too quickly.
@@justinarzola4584 its a figure of speech. i meant dropping an army of zetsus on the village using Kamui

It is a fumble but an understandable one in his position I’m 100% setting that matchup up fuck logic
Bruh.
óbito had all the power at his disposal but lacked the will
Instant click, I'm so excited
Obito is the King of Naruto. He is the Chosen One.
Correct me if I'm wrong, Obito's intangibility requires some part of his body to remain go to the kamui dimension, while some part remains and he's very vulnerable when he uses kamui to suck things in.
This is correct, although when he sends a part of himself to the Kamui space he can’t physically touch anybody or anything.
Obito didn't want to win. He just didn't want to admit he was a loser.
He thought he was too strong for them, ended up loosing
Obito fumbled more + plus he was taking this way more seriously than Kabuto, he had a full goal & something to prove

I also am under the Assumption if Madara had been Summoned by Kabuto early on in the War Madara and Obito would have Won.
I hate that the cannon answer to all of these is that Black Zetsu manipulated Obito to make these specific choises
Since Nagato at that time was the only person who could have possibly come close to Obito's level at that time, it's likely that his thought process was:
Obito >= Pain
Naruto > Pain
Naruto = Obito???

This video was great and i loved seeing y’all’s takes but at the end of the video with the whole why didn’t obito TP across the world i think it’s because minato already had him marked with a flying raijin seal so teleporting away would just be a waste of obitos chakra and also if minato TP’d to obito while he was still in kamui then that would be really bad for obito because it would stop him from kamuing again if he left cause if someone waited in the kamui dimension they could pull a kakashi and basically stop obito from using his kamui for a little bit.
because kishimoto didn't think about it
No kishimoto probably did think about it and realized that isn’t possible cause it would result in minato immediately teleporting there. But we can never really know cause neither of us are kishimoto.

HOW did black zetsu "record" battles??!
What would have happened if Sasuke never Betrayed Obito after getting the EMS and was teamed up with him and Madara instead of switching Sides?
It’s because he secretly still loved everyone
To be honest Obito was basically the Most Powerful Shinobi on Earth until Madara and Hashirama showed up.
Obito wasn’t that ridiculously strong before his fight with Konan. After he killed Konan and got the rinnegan, it was a huge power boost
W
Madara reverse fumble go crazy
Bro me and my homie were just talking bout the 4gnw and how stupid people be
How did he fumble the war if Madara and Obito achieved their goal? They achieved the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Naruto and Sasuke ultimately undid the jutsu.
He fumbled bc he could have easily gotten naruto and killer bee but literally made it harder for himself for no good reason
Obito may have fumbled the war.. but if Danzo was made commander in chief of the war it would’ve ended in 1 day 🗣️🗣️
