I have no clue about the first question, I just find pieces that I already own and figure something out. As for the second question I have seen those sets, though to be honest I'm not that overly excited for them, as I would've REALLY liked proper minifigures of the Mario cast, but I have my fingers crossed that they may make more sets with minifigures since official Lego Nintendo sets are now a thing.
