This song is very special to Mr. Ryan Cayabyab, he personally picks the artist who will sing this song. First is Basil Valdez, the original interpreter, then Regine who performed this in his 50th birthday concert. Now, personally handpicked by Mr. C for this generation on his 70th is Stell.
I hope Mr.C will still pick Stell on his 100th birthday! 🎂🎈

Mr. C had Stell in his wish list. He chose tht song for Stell to sing. After it, he said when Stell started singing, he felt they were in a coliseum singing before a hundred thousand audience.

This is a whole step (2 keys) lower than Regine's legendary yellow-gown performance of the same song. Stell has a high tessitura and a light timbre, but he's still a man. At any rate, he did really well.

Not to be biased but Stell and the whole ensemble really made that song understandable for me listen to as an audience. It's such a complicated piece to listen to as an audience as it's such a deep song! I heard Mr. C said on his FB that he and Stell will have a collab soon. Knowing that Stell still has no solo song, I was thinking what if his first solo song will be composed by the Maestro himself. That would be an awesome representation of PPop specifically and OPM in general, thru Stellvester Ajero. Just my wishful thinking, but why not? This kind of genre suits Stell also. Waleska was right in saying that Stell is one of the rare singers who are doing pop and can still do theatrical songs. 😉🤗❤️❤️❤️

When Stell started singing, it brought back memories. It's been decades since I last heard Sometime, Somewhere originally sung by Basil Valdez. Stell was extraordinary to have sung at that key.
What Stell sang is entitled "Sometime Somewhere". This is the same song that you reacted to where you were completely mesmerized by Regine's story telling and vocal techniques. T’was also the same performance that Stell studied to be able to do this wonderful performance.. It's still one of your best reaction videos for me.
Mr. C really loved Stell's performance that night that he even mentioned about him again the following night. 😊

Stell's rendition of this song was beyond awesome. I was glad to have witnessed this in person. He is really a phenomenal singer. Too bad some members of the ACS (the chorale that sang for Mr.C) do not even know him when most of the audience (me included) were very excited anticipating what song he would be singing that night.

Re-doing my comment as it went missing. I've been waiting for this reaction for days! It was originally sang by BASIL VALDEZ and later on, REGINE VELASQUEZ had her version 20 years ago. Stell sang in Regine Velasquez key. The amount of praise that Stell got that night from legends, icons, and those theater/musical goers (who don't even know that SB19 exists) outpoured since that night and even the MAESTRO RYAN CAYABYAB himself cannot stop talking about Stell. Even MS. LEAH SALONGA commented that Stell's voice is unreal. She's very meticulous when it comes to vocals and doesn't give praises often. Even those who attended Day 2 were expecting Stell after hearing about his stellar performance on Day 1, but unfortunately, he was only scheduled for Day 1. What a time to be a STELLBERRY/A'TIN. Mr. C posted on his Facebook page that a collab with Stell will come out soon. What an honor to get invited for a collab by the National Artists, no less! Stell must be over the moon!

I bet if you were reacting to a very clear video, Waleska would've cried, as I can see she's almost teary-eyed here. Most reactors cried watching this because Stell's performance was so moving. Unfortunately, no photo and video taking was allowed. This fancam came from Kakai Bautista who was also an artist and one of the performers and a huge fan of Stell.

I watched AURORA MUSIC FEST 202R At Clark last April, SB19, Juan Karlos, are the best. I was awed and amazed of them because tgey are better in LIVE. I love them with ADIE and CUP OF JOE.

The song Juan Karlos sang was originally sang by four teenage singers. You should see them singing that song. Mr. C just did a different arrangement for JK. But Paraiso really is a classic now due to the message it delivers.

Ryan Cayabyab is THE MAN in Philippine Music. I had a chance to volunteer to a music event where Mr Ryan is one of the curators, and witnessed artists performing his songs like in this event. Amaaaazing music. He wrote some of the most notable and timeless songs in OPM. From classical, to ballads, pop, to folk music.
Juan Karlos is really a great artist. He is a world class performer!

The location of the one taking Stell’s video is unfortunate because the orchestra was pretty loud and in some parts drowned Stell‘s voice. But you could still tell how good Stell interpreted this song. How a legend in the Philippine music industry hand-picked Stell for his concert says volumes and for him to give this extremely difficult song, even more. The orchestra playing is none other than the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.

We heard these songs when we were younger and it is amazing to hear them again being sang by new artists with new styles .
The concert is in 2 parts, day 1 & day 2. Stell performed in Day 1 wherein almost all the performers are theater artists. Day 2 is for pop songs.
