Angelina just put an end to this genre by being far far better at it than anyone doing it. It has her signature calm presentation along with her usual beautiful tone. I'm not a fan of techno pop but I really like this. It's Angelina Jordan and that's all I need.

The song " Above the water " was written, composed and produced by TRXD for Angelina. TRXD is a Norwegian music production duo made up of Truls Dyrstad and David Atarodiya. The song was released in January 2020 when Angelina just celebrated her 14th birthday. 💯 *AJ* 💯 👣 BTW, even though it's EDM you can clearly hear Angelina's influence on this performance. Again, Angelina always has her own style. It is TRXD's most successful song on Spotify with more than 4.3 million views. 🤗

What makes it a 10 for me is seeing you two blokes getting so energized! Angelina is capable of doing many different genres of music. What she needs more than anything is good writers to work with her. I'm pretty sure that, by the end of 2023, there will be writers lined up at her door.

As a long time fan, I thought this was brilliant! She's showing her diversity and the types of music she can pull off with that wonderful voice of hers. She's been singing well over a decade and she just turned 17 years old! I wouldn't be surprised if she revisited this type of music in the future. She's always surprising us with the choices of music she puts out. Her new album is coming this year, so we Angels and fans around the world are eagerly waiting!

This was released by Columbia Records Jan.31, 2020 when Angelina turned 14, DOB Jan10,2006). There are 3 other videos accompanying this song on YT so all views total around 50K views on YT but...this song is on Spotify and it has 4.4M views so total views are around 5 million, not bad for never having been promoted. I hope Angelina has at least a handful of upbeat songs when she releases her album later this year. Republic Records probably wants that as well. The only other truly upbeat song was Duffy's Mercy that you already viewed. You might consider 7th Heaven upbeat and she did Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive when she was 10 yo, a 70's disco track. I love this song and maybe it will be re-released once AJ becomes more known after her album is released. Thanks guys so much for continuing to promote Angelina!!

I really enjoy what she usually does, but I would like to see much more of this style as well.
Truls and David went over to LA in Feb 2020, planning on doing some Sony net-working. Of course, Covid really messed it up. They gave an interview in Oslo before they left, talking about this collaboration with Angelina, where they stated that they had worked in studio on this for 18 months. According to them Sony Norway had the idea to put them together.

Surprise, surprise, I agree to your score note being a 10 because of the type of song and the computer “interference” of Angelina's voice. Surprised though that we can still hear some of her signature enhancements and of course her tone. This song does not allow for any high or low range show off notes, so even an average talent show wannabe could pull this one off. Anyway it is a great dance song and well done in any case.

Different concerts were aimed at different fans Jazz concert fans are older. These are usually a very musically educated group. Then the Alsang pa grenson(no idea how to spell that) had children upwards. Some of the young adults I recognised from much earlier concerts where they were children. When you watch voice coaches, musicians and fellow singers react to Angelina you realise that the more musically educated appreciate her the most. I suppose that makes sense why she has a lot of older fans who know their music catalogues. Who appreciate her technical and performance quality.

Hello BPs, Happy New Year and as I know it, this music was played a lot in Norways club scene, maybe still is. It´s Angelina singing and in Norway even the younger generations are fans of her.
Oh SHE is now 17 and released a tiktok of "Purpel Rain", WOW, sadly she also hat to sing a tribute to the daughter of Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie Presley. Lisa left Earth much to soon.

But, as with everything she sings, after a few sessions of listening to it, I accepted that there was no need to worry as she obviously knew what she was doing so "all was right with the world". 🙂

I keep, a database of those who react to Angelina and my records show you have reacted to her 41 times. A quick look t your playlist shows 71, but many of those appear to be duplicates. Although the opening of the reaction is different, the content is the same. I am sure there must be an explanation, but this ancient brain of mine cannot think of one.😞
If my memory is correct, these two guys (Norwegians I think) are kinda well known in the EDM (electronic dance music) genre. Supposedly, they came to Angelina (maybe they were already friends) and ask if she would do this for them. Being the kind and generous person that she is, she said yes. And this is the product. As we all know by now, she can pretty much sing any genre at a very high level. The arrangement is Angelina's, and every voice you hear is her, including the rap. If you like upbeat, you will really like this perforance. Love you guys, and thanks for all you do to promote Angelina, who is now 17 (01/10/23). So very sad to hear that Lisa Marie Presley has passed. 😢

It is indeed a wonderful collaboration and her voice is wonderful in it. The lyrics are quite nice as well. I can easily imagine this being played at a dance festival. There are photo's of her performing this with TRXD at a live set. So yes, interesting why it doesn't have more views. But than again, I'm not really the target group, so I might be missing something :-)

I'm in a 74 year old body (I should be 75 but I was sick for a year 😄) and I enjoyed this song so much that I downloaded it to my Spotify playlist in June, 2021. This video makes me want to learn how to shuffle dance - I already have the music!

This is another example her and Eric’s day or above the waters. This one is in a massive concert. You might wanna take a look at this one too, but that was thousands of people there and listen to her this time.
The chameleon has done it again. If her up and coming album tunes into a couple of upbeat songs that may help launch her career to the next level. Heard a recent review where they didnt like her version of suspicious minds.. that was their first hearing of Angelina....and that was the first negative criticism ive heard. They said the song should have been more upbeat and that she really didnt do the song justice....I, like many others totally disagreed....but it shows you the spectrum of tastes out there...and she of course needs to be true to herself but...i must say , tracks like these do help an artist commercially.

For someone who has her training in jazz classics and her major influences being Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse, Norah Jones, and Adele, to name a few, this was out of the norm for her and she was only around 12 to 13 years old when she did this as a favor!
Except this makes 6 different genres Angelina has mastered.. By the age of 17...

I think she moves us differently. Or for me at least. A little less during her faster songs, during her incredible vocal difficulty songs. But that doesn't mean I don't like it. I love it, just much differently. I think it's awesome she can excel at all of it. But for whatever reason, the slower the better, she can do things slowly that no one else can do to me. Usually slow is meh for anyone else, great as a contrast or a beautiful ballad lyrically. A time or place for them. For her, all the time is perfectly fine if she so chooses. That being said, her originals aren't very slow, they are awesome and I'm all for it. Her voice, skillset and artistry is enough alone, but perhaps easier to soak in and incredible enough to be better slow to me. Still variety is key. It definitely helps me listen to her even more.
Angelina takes a song, slows it down, works every note, incorporates negative space, leaves you enraptured.

For whatever reason, this is the best example despite it being the way the song was meant to be, it still works you over insanely hard and feels different. The best example should be a song she flipped on it's head into this style, but yet it's this one. She knows how to art.

My Funny Valentine, from about 2:50: a belt immediately followed by sweet high notes followed by just one note, with the music cut out, that softly decays. Everything before 2:50 set that ending up. Angelina is a master of pacing. I love it and I think you do also.
@@maxhuang1179 I think that's a huge part of it. But it's so different from typical Jazz artists of the past. The same theory but I don't understand her ways and why they are better. These are things that some people can make decent and interesting, but that she can make great often times. As if there was a correct way even though it's art and she taps into it. Maybe the breathy tones, almost sounds projected. Some mix of those two things. But the fry works too. God I could elaborate and guess for days on end about this, be careful buddy.
