For The Flying Frenchies, thinking out of the box isn’t a choice - it’s a way of life. There are amazing 'extreme' videos, and there are 'throw a bunch of weird shit together for no reason' videos. The French seem particularly good at doing the latter.
And what is the most extreme experience you've ever done ? Crouching from bed to couch ? The purpose of this video is not extreme wingsuit proximity flying, but it is still nice & fun to see. I would like to see you wetting your pants doing the same "non-extreme weird shit".
Regarding your primitive french bashing, could you tell us the fabulous country you belong to, and you are so proud of ? So that we'll be able to bash it with ridiculous clichés.
Some of these Red Bull videos are spectacular, but this is just a whole bunch of weird stuff. What is it meant to be exactly? There's a duck and a mime and they're on a surfboard on a zip line...why? From a viewer's point of view it doesn't look great and it's a jumble of random things all thrown into a video. The French seem very easily amused by very simple things.
Look at that Remi guy. There is a video of him in a kangaroo suit running around annoying people. It has millions of views. Is that what you guys call humour? When I was 3 years old I would have thought something like that was funny. This video should have had Remi in a kangaroo suit kicking people off the surfboard. You guys would have rolled around on the floor laughing at it.
Do you need my help making the next video? If this is how easily entertained you are, I will get you a hundred million views no problem! How about this idea: a man dressed as a unicorn, fighting the kangaroo man, inside a shark cage, with a man dressed as a shark swimming around in the water outside, and some clowns in kayaks pouring feathers onto the water from watering cans. You can have this idea for free. But please credit me when the video goes viral in France. Thank you.

The problem with this video is that there's no 'wow' in it. And that's what the best and most successful extreme videos have. There's no *idea* in this. It just looks like a bunch of extreme dudes sat around smoking weed and coming up with things like surfboards and skydiving and ducks and clowns and feathers. But they forgot the most important thing of all - having an idea at the core of the video. I'm not sure if that's a French thing or they just forgot to bring a creative director into the project. I suspect a bit of both.
France itself is of course a very old and mature country, yet surprisingly the level of humour and entertainment there is so low and basic for a culture that is in other ways, very sophisticated. Incidentally, my experiences in France have all been very pleasant and I have found the French to be extremely welcoming and nothing at all like their reputation suggests.
I hope that clears all this up. So in summary - *always* have a big idea; don't just throw a bunch of disconnected, small bits and pieces together. And drink Red Bull for breakfast, lunch and dinner for maximum extreminess.
