Arrigato for this video (and for the English subtitles!) When you were talking about Japan for foreigners, I kept thinking you could have been describing almost any country (including USA). I think most people are very shy when they are speaking a foreign language because they are afraid of not being able to communicate well. I've had the opportunity to visit a few foreign countries when I only knew a few phrases (thanks to guidebooks!), but often when native speakers saw that I was trying to speak their language, even if not well, they would try to make themselves understood, even if they only knew a few words of my language (English) With lots of gestures, pointing and smiles, it became a mutual sharing/learning experience for both of us - whether it was ordering at a restaurant, buying something, or navigating the subway system.
Your videos are already making a difference in the lives of those of us who watch them. You have a very interesting perspective on life. When I am feeling sad or anxious I make a special effort to look up at people, rather than down and to smile at others. It's a wonderful feeling to see them smile back or just say "Hi" and know that maybe I helped bring some enjoyment into their day if they were having a rough time, too. And I think , particularly at this point in time, when there is so much anger and divisiveness in the world, we need to actively work to express more positivity, good nature and love.

I love all of your videos. Answering questions in your own language is great for us that are eager to learn Japanese, as we get to listen to your thoughts and opinions but in your own language so maybe it makes you more expressive? With regards to more speaking experience, maybe an Instagram Live, where we can give you tips and advice about the English you are speaking? 😊

I hope you can travel everywhere you wish! I'm sure some of your subscribers can help with advice and accomodations. I was smiling as you mentioned English is commonly spoken at a fast pace. I actually feel Japanese is spoken very rapidly, and it seems you are speaking a bit more slowly and carefully for your viewers. When you visit the US I hope you have at least a month because there are so many completely different areas of natural beauty away from the cities. There are still places where bison and horses run freely and incredible mountain hikes and fossil hunting sites.
My traveling days are long over but I would have loved to visit Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
Thank you for your videos. Your photography is beautiful.

You would like to visit other countries, and we would like to visit various places in Japan. I've just watched a video of Gabriel Hyodo (a popular UA-camr, who is half Polish half Japanese) about his trip to Okinawa. It was beautiful, the views, ocean, beach, climate, whale watching etc. Seems to be a great place for vacation. And it's indeed so good to travel, to see different places, countries, meet people of different nationalities, talk to them. It helps to better understand the world, have broaden perspective, see how other people live and what they think. It's really valuable.

Your content speaks volumes about your intent! You're practicing by recording videos frequently which I think is a great way to learn. I also want to live abroad, particularly Australia, having visited on and off for 17 years (a family member is a dual citizen!). But finances are the biggest obstacle, especially as someone unable to work remotely (current qualifications etc). Wishing you the best of luck! I look forward to hearing about those future adventures. :)

I like about Japan the fact that Japanese people are very law-abiding, very considerate, don't want to inconvenience others, they are not loud, obnoxious, very disciplined etc.
the streets are clean, nobody breaks traffic rules etc.
but I am intimidated by the work culture, I don't know if I would be willing to work at a Japanese office, with their long hours, obligatory evening izakaya sessions, a lot of reporting and paperwork etc.
may be it is what made Japan great, I don't know
I would like to have all the Japan's law and order but with relaxed approach to working and personal behavior

I think it's not just in Japan that crazy things happen, it's all over the world, it depends on how you look at them , of course, in some places they depend more on money to live on a day-to-day basis or culture.

Dear Yuu, I really enjoied this video very much. Learning English is always beneficial, as it is the world language. I am very happy you decided to be be creator, so I could find you in the Internet. And with English we can communicate- happy 😁❣️ I could tell by the first time I saw you, that you are special, unique, no average and radiating with an unstoppable warm light. Looking whats out there in the world is a good thing. Gaining experience and knowledge is only a parts of the benefits. All countries have good and other sides. It depends where you go an what people you meet. Concerning the japanese society, I have the impression that you are really hard working people, but very bound to a hirarchy. I imagine, it can be quite exhausting and even lead to a personal unbalance. OHH man I could go on with so much more but I will stopp with following words: You are a wonderful person. The moment I saw you I immediately knew, I want support and protect this person at any costs. You are very worthy. You will be with me as long as I life.❣️ I will leave this earth with 150😅 so preapre yourself, there are still some years ahead.😉😊 But still, you are 100% CORRECT to live your life in the now, in the moment, not in the past and not in the future. Keep shining Yuu. Ahh it would be nice, if we could meet next year when I will be in Tokyo around cherry blossom time. 😊🫶 Thank you for being born into this world and time!

My tips for getting better at listening to the fast pace of English is to watch a lot of content in the full speed and not try to understand, just watch and listen. After a few weeks the brain will adapt and get better at hearing words at that pace so listening practice makes it easier to listen. It also helps if you listen to a certain topic, like if you watch a lot of cooking shows you will get better at hearing all the words in that topic.
If you ever want to travel someplace where the culture is quiet and shy like Japan but have good English proficiency then Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland are all really good. I'm from Sweden and people that learn Swedish get a little frustrated that everyone is good at English because Swedish people love using their English so when they speak to a foreigner you usually get an English response. We share the culture to take our shoes off at the door, be quiet and respectful in public places like the bus and train or the gym, and it might be a nice "kind of like home but still a lot of English" if the English speaking countries feel too loud.
If you have the time you can talk to your viewers in like a discord server, either one that is available all the time but that takes time and work, or one that can be used for language exchange during for example a livestream. If you livestream then the viewers can help you understand the conversation, and the person you are talking to will be less likely to act improper while others are watching. This idea is probably scary but it can help you talk to people that want to practice their Japanese too. I think your viewers are nice and kind and want to help you! I like this video format, very relaxing and enjoyable. :)

You are CORRECT, living overseas will definitely increase your own personal mental growth. Oh Yes, but as an American you are going to be surprised that English is not the ONLY most spoken language. Spanish is just as powerful and is a base language for English, Italian, French, Latin, Cebuano (Filipino) and are all interrelated. So, don't be surprised when coming to the USA you'll find Spanish and English used a lot. I should know, I was born here.

It's nice to hear that things are going well for you professionally and thank you for taking the time for us. I found your explanation and information about Japan extremely interesting. However, I don't know whether it's still interesting for me to visit Japan or whether I'd rather not. What is it like for a tourist to visit Japan? What should you do? What should you definitely not do? Are there differences for men and women? And please don't put so much pressure on yourself to learn English. Your English is good.

I have heard that in Japan, similarly, young women will go to particular restaurants and begin to eat whatever they want, at no cost to them, and then men join their table to visit with them and pay for their meal. It is thought of as a common way to go get free meals, while the men see it as an opportunity to communicate with young women. I think the point must be that they hope to pair up with the girls in a more intimate manner, but largely the young women are not interested in that, but only the free meals. It seems such a strange idea which I could never be comfortable with doing, but perhaps there is some element of it I am not understanding

Hi Yuu-San! Please consider being my speaking partner! It’s my biggest challenge that I don’t have anyone to practice Japanese with, so we can help each other!

How can we know what is too loud for you and what not?😅 every nationality has its own loudness limit in public places. We see it as natural when various people in restaurants speak in different volumes and rarely would ask someone to keep the volume low since it's rude.

It is a shame to walk with your head down when you have a nice face. Don't hide yourself from the world, you have much to be proud about ☺.
