Nearly had to go home for a change! I was there last week and the client has gotten rid of the deck altogether, I think that's for the best! Thanks for the sub I really appreciate it :)
Yes, I should have done a bit of a follow up to it. The deck is really unsafe. I put my foot through another section of it too. The client is a good customer of mine and was horrified that I could have been hurt.
A quick reaction to a nasty surprise. I did a garden last year where my foot went through the decking. I think homeowners don't appreciate they need preserving every couple of years.
These are long term clients, good people. I think they were more frightened than me. That's the main reason I only posted half a video. Didn't want to show a location or anything like that. They have now removed the decking and filled in the ditch
Yep accidents happen. The only thing I think I could have done to prevent it on this job was not to do this hedge at all or had down boards over the boards to spread the weight
The title alone reminded me of a horrible video with a gardener taking a branch to the face, his maxila and mouth just... gone. It all happened in the blink of an eye... Be careful with all this.
Jeez
Lucky escape there mate
I recently took end of my finger off with hedgetrimmer
Stay safe
Steve
It scared the crap out of me. We're u able to get your finger fixed?

You need one of those now and then to keep you on your toes. At least you have a hedge to land on 👍

I think it scared my helper even more than me 🙈😂🤢
Ooops! Highlights the dangers though in our industry.
Yikes, i thought the deck under the right leg was gonna give.
The deck was really ropey, it broke in a couple of other places once I was cutting the hedge. I wouldn't let my employee stand on it
It's why I hate ladders hate them there all the same every large hedge I do I bring a spare underpants fact
I have been cutting this hedge for a number of years, I hate cutting this section lol. The rest of it is Handy enough...
U can see why they say don't use a chainsaw on a ladder. Thi ws a good video to highlight how ezy it is to have. Accident.
Yep accidents happen. The only thing I think I could have done to prevent it on this job was not to do this hedge at all or had down boards over the boards to spread the weight
It just shows you how dangerous working on Ladders is
Yes, sometimes we put to much faith in things!
We all make mistakes.
Indeed we do!

Scared me at the time!
A platform would be much safer and you’d do your job faster.

Platform is to slow
